Zetshimaru
Zetshimaru also has been thinking that a roulette tournament might be fun. Granted Zetshimaru couldn't go into this kind of tournament for sheer lack of the amount of pokemon Zetshimaru has.

This kind of tournament might be better on Shoddy battle confused

Sorry about the double post.

What would a roulette tournament mean? You have to use a randomly decided Pokemon?

Yes and no.

Roulette battles are when trainers both pick a set number of pokemon. Each trainer then sets up that number of pokemon (different move sets should be on different pokemon, so even the move sets are more random) in their boxes. After this is done each trainer picks 6 numbers, the other trainer must use the pokemon in each respected spot in their box/es. (the first number picked must be the lead)

So it is random but the trainer gets to put some limits on it. Which is why this might be better on Shoddy since then people can make different movesets and more pokemon to increase the fun. Well fun in Zetshimaru's eyes xp

Granted there are more then likely flaws in this kind of tournament but it would be a different change of pass form the common OU setting that is so annoying to see.

Mimik would like a standard UU tournament. Its versatile, yet simple, and everyone could easily enjoy it. Ooh.. and lots of shiny prizes...

Sounds like every tournament, lol. Since you haven't been around much, ypu'll be glad to hear that in the past we've set up a list of prizes for winners to choose from. Most of which have been shiny pokemon donated from various sources. I still have a box decicated to Tournament prizes.

Also, not too long ago we held and Underdog tournament of UU/NU. Only for this tournament the prizes were Battle Points and Rank Points for out own battle tower. So, it is safe to say that we tend to have some good prizes. Just not a very long entry list of trainers.

I like that Roulette tournament idea! We shall call it the "Ocelot Pokemon Tournament"!!! (Kudos to whoever gets it. xD)

The roulette idea does sound interesting. The only problem I can see with that is that every contestant may not have enough pokemon in different types to support such a random change. Here are a couple of ideas I have to remedy this problem.

Idea #1: Would could have everyone who joins this tournament to register 1 or 2 pokes in each type. They don't have to be seen by anyone else but must be sent to the person holding the tournament so they can send a randomized team out of the pokes they have chosen for each round. Down sides to this idea I can see are both forcing everyone who joins this event to stick with chosen pokes throughout the entire tournament and the omitting the person running the tournament from joining in because of the info he holds on everyone's team.

Idea #2: We could always just randomize the 6 types that are allowed for each round to be used instead of completely randomizing pokes. This way, everyone will have a bit of freedom to play with whatever pokemon fits within a type. Drawbacks: It wouldn't be completely randomize for one could build a complete compitent team (though it would be interesting to see this tournament is focuses mostly on how well a person build a team on the fly with certain types.) Predictable types means alot of meta gaming.

have wild battling scenario call it wild card. someone puts the the name in the tourney. and everybody does a dice roll (using Gaia)after every battle.( if you win it) and there will be a chart determining what type of battle he/she will do due to the number range the dice lands on.it can like multi battle ,double battle every thing. think about it.

ex.
Dice roll result

1-10 =single battle (free range)
10-20 = double battle(free range0
20- 30= Multi battle
30-40=single battle ( lv.50)

It can be awsome
40-50=double battle(lv.50)
50-60= multi battle( lv. 50)
60-70= Single battle ( lv.100)
70-80=Double battle (lv.100)
80-90=multle battle(lv.100)
90-100= wild card(?) mono type battles any thing?

and some one in the same number range you have to battle. last one standing is the winner. it's like a big elimination battle. also the type of battle can be determined by a dice rol of one through ten

ex.

!-2= 3vs. 3
2-3= fire vs. fire
3-4=one on one
4-5=uber vs. uber
5-6=ou vs.ou
6-7= contest event .pokemon wins 2 ribbons to win
7-8=uu vs. uu
8-9=special challenge.( gym leaders)
9-10=one vs. a whole team

It can be so awsome!!
