--- Dragon's Teeth --- Dragon's Teeth is a dangerous landscape which requires one to be a master of chakra control even to fight within it. Large spires of earth rise up from the ground at multiple angles and differing lengths, but what they all have in common is that they are rocky and sharp. there is no 'ground' to speak of here, as the spires themselves simply rise up from the earth, hundreds of feet up in the air, though many of the spires are large enough to hold two shinobi. The key in this area however is to keep moving, as you never know what may come next.
What more could this dangerous landscape possibly do to you? Meteors. That's right folks... meteors fall from the sky every other post, flying right towards you. They're only small meteors, about the size of a human, but they hit with enough force to utterly destroy whatever spire you are currently standing on. If that wasn't bad enough, after the meteor strikes and destroys a spire, another spire rises up at a different angle in a nearby area to take it's place, shifting the battlefield once more.
{Fuuton users: +1 to jutsu strength... effectively due to how difficult high winds are to deal with here}
{Every use of an earth jutsu will collapse the column the user is on at the beginning of his next post.}
{Suiton users: Water jutsu cost an extra chakra point to use... as there is no ground water to draw from}

As the light surrounds each of you in the arena, the sounds of the crowd slowly fades as the bright white light itself seems to wrap around you and intensify. Taiji is used to this by now, but as it is Kaizen's first time, it sends a distinct tingling throughout your entire body. Before you know it however, the light begins to fade, but now, instead of standing where you were before, you find yourselves in The Dragon's Teeth Arena. From the winds, you can tell you are somewhat high up, and a quick look down confirms it. You are standing atop a large stone spire, with hundreds of other spires rising up at jagged and random angles all around you.
Looking down at the ground, you can just barely see what is a scene you wouldn't want to be exposed to. The bottom of the arena itself seems to be nothing but spikes of sharp rock, which you are sure would maim if not skewer you if you were to fall on them. Directing each Genin to move on top of different spires, at least 25 feet apart, the Jounin immediately shunshins up to a high spire above them both, attaching himself firmly to the very tip using chakra, watching the match from afar.
"No rules gentlemen... excepting I will step in to stop either of you from killing each other. We're here to find future Chuunin, not kill off all the hopefuls. Represent yourselves and your countries well...HAJIME!"

Kai had of course seen the other contestants disappear in those bright flashes, but the sensation was not something he could have prepared for. As the tingling spread across his body and everything went blank, Kai's first reaction was one of panic, but he did his best to keep his cool, it wasn't as if any of the other contestants hadn't come out of the other end. As the light faded and his new surroundings came into view, Kai's eyes widened as the Dragon's Teeth came fully into view.
Taking an involuntary step back, Kai found that there was no footing behind him. Eyes widening in fear as his arms were already beginning to lash out to find purchase on a solid surface, it was only the firm grip of the Jounin Proctor as he grabbed hold of Kaizen by the collar of his shirt which kept the child from falling. Looking behind him as the Proctor still held him hanging aloft, Kai gulped at the sight of literally hundreds of jagged rocky spires, each of them seeming eager to skewer anyone unfortunate enough to lose their footing.
With help from the proctor, Kai regained his footing and with a troubled glance at Taiji the boy thought to himself, so this is it, this is the kind of danger I can expect as a Chuunin... except no, in the real world it will be more dangerous, there won't be proctors. It will just be me, and my opponent. Gripping the hilts of his blades tightly, Kai turned away from Taiji and began jumping from spire to spire until he was far enough away.
Still with his back turned to his opponent, Kai unsheathed his blades slowly as he found his focus. His eyes were closed, his breathing was deep and rhythmic as he let his mind clear itself of all distractions. Opening his eyes, those stark white orbs that always seemed to hide a kind of hidden ferocity, Kai turned to face Taiji, but no longer did he see the face of a friend, he was simply an opponent. An Opponent that Kai would defeat.
At the signal of the Proctor, Kai's eyes immediately shifted to a deep emerald green, the color seeming to pour from the center of his eyes where his pupils might have been. With an upward slash of his blade Kai cried out, "Kamaitachi no Jutsu!", causing a nearly invisible barrage of cutting winds to fly towards Taiji. Without even stopping to see if the technique would hit however, Kai immediately moved forward, jumping from spire to spire, using his training in the Butoukai Sono Raijin to easily find the quickest and efficient path to his enemy.
As soon as Kai closed the distance he would attempt to slash at Taiji with his katana coming down for a vicious over-head slash, while his wakizashi would come up with a similarly deadly upward slash. [I'm assuming that even though there is a 1 rank increase in Fuuton, That because Katon eats Futon, my C-rank could nullify the technically C rank Futon.]  UchihaTaiji Genin | Katon | Konoha Eyes looking forward lazily, Taiji seemed to react from little more than instinct, The Sharingan's crimson glow obviously making up the rest as His hands snapped up to seal while his body remained perfectly still. after a few quick seconds to make the necessary seals for his favorite jutsu, He took in a deep breath, puffing out his chest as he filled his lungs up, preparing for the Goukyaku. Taiji's eyes squinted to slits as he bent forward, expelling out a fireball, whose circumference would easily envelop the wind blades that were thrown at him. Breathing clearly once more, Taiji watched as Kaizen descended upon his through his peripheral vision.While the top blade came down on him, Taiji caught a glimpse of the bottom blade, as they made their way towards him, at an awkwardly low speed; His Dojutsu giving him the extra bit of time needed to calculate a workable counter.Calling upon his knowledge of konoha's Taijutsu style, he snapped a finger into his Kunai holster,and whipped one up into his hand waiting for the precise moment where the two blades would cross like scissors. With eerie precision, Taiji jammed the kunai blade between the two swords, and stepped in, showing off his extensive strength training, as his parry would stop the two blades in their tracks, giving him the ability to throw a devastating Left Cross to Kai's Chest while he was all but unprotected in mid-air, and in mid swing.What Kai wouldn't realize though, was that The Cross coming towards him wasn't a cross at all. It wasn't really anything. because if anyone else was watching the fight from the outside, they would have seen what really went on, and not the Suguni Ouda that Kai was sure to be experiencing. What Everyone would see however, would be Taiji whipping towards his unweary opponent through the air as his leg would connect to Kai's Ribs, the full force of his konoha sempuu would hopefully send him into a nearby rock formation. Suguni Ouda[5] + Goukyaku[5-1(Uchiha blood)=4] + Sharingan[1] 20 remaining Chakra

(I hadn't really intended for you to think my character was flying through the air at you, but at the same time I didn't really specify whether he was or wasn't, so I'll just roll with it and try to be more descriptive in the future) Kaizen Minoru

As Kai's blades ring on Taiji's kunai, Kai's eyes narrow imperceptibly before he notices the left cross heading straight towards him. Pulling his arms in, reversing the grip on his blades as he does so, Kai throws up a quick guard before the blow... disappears? Emerald green eyes widening in surprise, Kai barely has time to notice Taiji's kick as it sails towards him. As the blow lands, Kai's left arm taking the brunt of the damage, though that hardly made it hurt any less, Kai flies through the air towards a nearby spire. Twisting his body in the air as much as he can, Kai manages to right himself just moments before impact, his feet hitting the tall spire as he let his knees bend to disperse the impact as well as he could.
Letting chakra flow through the soles of his feet, Kai clung to the side of the spire for a moment. Before he could do anything else however Kai noticed a shadow forming around him. Lifting his gaze skyward, Kai's eyes widened at the sight of what could only be described as a meteor sailing towards him. Jumping to the side, Kai managed to barely avoid the meteor, but now he was aloft in the air. As he plummeted towards the ground, Kai scrambled to find purchase on one of the many spires he was passing. It wasn't too long before he found the purchase he was looking for.
Landing heavily, the wind was driven from Kai's lungs as he landed on his gut. Struggling to his feet, coughing heavily as he did so, Kai used his blades, which he had miraculously managed to keep hold of during his decent, to help prop himself up. Not five minutes into the fight, and Kai already found himself in almost as much pain as when his Silver-Haired Sensei had taught him to resist electricity. Still coughing, Kai couldn't help but smile at what he imagined his sensei would say about his current state. As he thought about it, Kai chuckled slightly as he realized that he would probably just receive the same scowl he always received.
Lifting his gaze skyward, Kai looked for his opponent, one hand rubbing at his left arm where Taiji had kicked him. It would be annoyingly soar, but he could work through the pain, Kai was certainly no stranger to pain. He could tell that he hadn't fallen much more than ten to fifteen feet, otherwise his landing would have resulted in a lot worse than a loss of breath, but his opponent was nowhere to be seen in that mess of spires. As Kai searched through the many spires above, he realized that the spires seemed thicker around where he had been just moments before. Eyes narrowing quizzically, Kai couldn't help but wonder if there was still more to this battlefield he didn't understand.
But it was no time to stand and ponder such things, sheathing his blades, Kai flashed through several hand-seals before saying in a still rather hoarse voice, "Raikou Bunshin no Jutsu." Kai's eyes flashed to a silvery blue as electricity arced off to either side of his body and in front of him. As the electricity stuck the ground it immediately began to rise and take shape until it solidified into three perfect copies of Kaizen. With a nod of his head, Kai signaled for the two clones on his left and right to move upward and search for his opponent. Meanwhile the third clone remained behind in order to provide Kai with support should Taiji make his way down to him."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [chakra points starting: 37 jutsu used: Raikou Bunshin (with chakra control 1 chakra point)x3= 3 current chakra points: 34 ]

UchihaTaiji Genin | Katon | Konoha As Kai sailed away, Taiji gave a loud grunt while his hands tried their best to cling to the nearest spire. Sliding along it until he could flip up, and onto his feet, Taiji huffed once more, before he witnessed what he could only describe as; but hoped to god that it wasn't in fact a meteor sailing his way. "About ten seconds until it gets to me...I've gotta think fast.""Ten."Closing his eyes tightly, he concentrated on His chakra coils, Trying to force more energy through them. "Nine."He felt the switch inside of himself flip. "Dai-ichi, Kaimon; Kai!" His body became instantly refreshed, as though a rush of cool air had just whipped around him; Once again, he was ready. "Eight"With the Sharingan still active, Taiji could see the chakra pulsating from where Kaizen stood, And He saw him begin to seperate chakra, But for what technique? "Seven"Taiji saw As Kaizen's Chakra split into two parts,the Crackling blue Obviously creating two lightning bunshins. "Alright, I most definitely can play that game." "Six."Swelling up an immense amount of Chakra, Taiji began to seal out for his own Fire bunshins; An even way to combat Kai's and give himself some leverage. "Five."The Chakra split off of him as three fire bunshins formed, two of them Shooting off in kai's Direction, while the third went to meet the bunshin that was headed for Taiji. "Four."Taiji's bunshin, and the Raibunshin, should have came into contact by now. As soon as the two would come into contact, it would throw a solid jab, followed up by a right cross; however, the moment the Raibunshin would guard, or set up a counter, Taiji would have detonated The Yojin Bunshin; Hopefully taking the raibunshin with it. "Three.""I Can't Forget the meteor, That would be ridiculous." Taiji took a grounded horse stance, setting up his attack. "Two."As the Meteor came close enough to him; Taiji would use his incredible lower body strength to rocket himself towards it. "One."Meeting the meteor in mid-air, he double palmed the large rock; Stopping it dead in it's tracks. The shock wave from the two colliding, made mist; and cloud alike clear away from the sheer force.Taking his hands, one in the other, He hammer-fists the human sized boulder; Sending it flying down towards Kaizen, and the remaining Bunshin. :First Gate Opened:

Kai's eyes narrowed as the two clones made his way towards him, but they would be easy enough to deal with. Performing several quick hand-seals as the clones jumped down at him, Kai's eyes turned a deep sapphire blue as he cried out, "Mizu Shuriken no Jutsu!" Immediately several balls of water coalesced and then took the shape of five-pronged shuriken, eight of them in total, all of them floating in front of him. Then, with nothing more than a thought, Kai sent the water shuriken towards the two clones, firing them in a spread in order to further increase the chances of hitting the clones, which should be a relatively simple matter given that they were in mid-air.
Meanwhile the two clones that had gone up to find Taiji met with some resistance. Just as one of the clones was rising over another spire, Taiji appeared, or at least it appeared to be Taiji. Throwing a few well placed punches at Kai's clone, it was all the clone could do to block the attacks, but it wouldn't matter anyway. For just as the Kai clone was about to launch its own furious attack, Taiji exploded, or rather the now confirmed clone of Taiji did, but there was still one clone remaining. As the clone made his way over one final spire he found his target, already getting into a horse stance as a meteor was sailing towards him. With a smirk the clone ran forward to jump at his target just as his target was rising to meet the meteor.
While the clone was meeting up with Taiji, Kai was already getting into action as he saw Taiji readying himself to use the Meteor as his own personal weapon. With a glance over his shoulder, Kai signaled for his final clone to begin moving up on an intercept course while Kai brought his hands up to his chest. As his eyes shifted from that deep sapphire blue to that same silvery blue of before Kai's hands flashed through hand-seals as he cried out, "Dendou Bakuhatsu no Jutsu!" Just as his first clone would be coming up behind Taiji, and his other clone would be coming face to face with the meteor, Kai's jutsu would take affect, detonating both clones simultaneously. In a burst of electricity, both clones would burst with power enough shatter the already damaged meteor into more manageable pieces. What kind of effect would it have on Taiji?
As rocks rained down upon him, Kai simply walked under his spire, using the wall walking technique to keep himself firmly attached to the spire until the rock shower stopped. He would then proceed to draw his blades and jump to a nearby spire, his silvery blue hues scanning the area for any sign of his hopefully badly injured opponent."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [chakra points starting: 37 Mizu Shuriken: 2 (chakra control) +1 (battlefield conditions) = 3 Dendou Bakuhatsu no Jutsu: 3 (Chakra control) = 3 3+3= 6 current chakra points: 28 ]

[Attempting to copy the Dendou Bakuhatsu] UchihaTaiji Genin | Katon | Konoha While Taiji was about to launch his meteor attack, A large surge of Chakra was caught by his eye; trying to examine the technique, he managed to figured out what kai was doing; but it was all too late. The surge of electric chakra, combined with responsive surge from the two clones that had now surrounded Taiji, could only mean one thing. A pretty impressive explosion. Something Tai was very familiar with. In fact, a similar technique locked his last victory up for him; so surprise wasn't going to really be a factor in this. Although kai really didn't need the element of surprise; as Taiji was already in the air, and there wasn't really all to much he could have done.The explosion of electrical force surged through taiji; singeing and burning him; as the sparks danced along his face from piercing to piercing. He cringed and yelled out; as his body plummeted downwards.Trying his hardest to force his eyes open, as he plummeted downwards, right toward a battle ready Kaizen. Thinking quickly, he twisted his body in air, so that his back was facing Kaizen; and after a few moments of free falling, Taiji exploded into a shower of lotus flowers. As they rained down upon Kaizen, they would be the precursor of what was to come. The magen Narakumi no jutsu; A genjutsu that would Cause kai to see whatever it is that scared him the most; the epicenter of his inner dread. As Kai would be battling whatever inner beast was plaguing him; Taiji was using His Inhuman speed, to make a mad dash to Kai's front, crouching low before Snapping out swift hands, to take Kai's Ankles. He would then launch into the air, Flipping three full spins, enough to make any individual dizzy; before he would hurl him at the nearest spire like some sort of Rag-doll. Kai couldn't help but smile at his successful attack as Taiji's limp body plummeted to the ground. Readying himself for the final blow, Kai could hardly believe his eyes when all of a sudden Taiji disappeared in a burst of lotus petals which then began to shower down up on him, obstructing his vision momentarily. When he could see once more however, it was not Taiji standing before him. Arm's falling limp and eyes growing wide in terror, it was all Kaizen could do not to fall to his knees as fear wracked his body.
Where Taiji had been just moments before, now stood the beast that had plagued Kaizen's mind for nearly year. His white fur ruffling in the wind, his five great tails, each of them swirling with the power of one of the five primary elements, weaving back and forth behind him, and worst of all were those two great eyes, so similar to Kai's own, which now looked down on him with the greatest of loathing. Glancing downward, the great beast drew Kaizen's gaze slowly down to the ground in front of the beast. Lying there, in a pile of rubble, were Kaizen's parents, there faces twin masks of horror and pain, their crumpled bodies nearly causing Kaizen to wretch. Lifting his gaze upward once more, Kai was faced with the gaping maw of Houkou as it descended down upon him.
Just as the fangs of the Gobi were descending upon him, Kai was pulled out of his nightmare by a quick tug on his ankles. Blinking his eyes several times, Kai found himself spinning in the air, Taiji grasping onto his ankles. After a few revolutions however, Kai was tossed through the air, on a direct course for one of the deadly sharp spires. As he soared through the air, Kai had just seconds to react. Releasing his grip on his blades, Kai immediately flashed through a series of hand-seals as his eyes flashed to a deep sapphire blue. "Mizutamari no Jutsu!"As Kaizen's form began to shift into a liquid state, he caught site of two very interesting objects flying through the air. Two meteors, each roughly the same size as the two before, on a collision course with the spire he had been standing on just moments before. But he would have no time to see what happened to Taiji as his jutsu took full effect and his body splashed onto spire, no longer taking the physical form of a human, Kaizen had become water. As Kaizen's form coagulated on top of the spire once more, Taiji would surely be busy figuring out how to handle those meteors, and just as Kaizen reformed he immediately flashed through yet another series of hand-seals, this time his eyes a raging scarlet red."Goukyaku no Jutsu!", Kaizen cried out before inhaling deeply and lifting a hand to his mouth. Then with a simple exhalation, an enormous ball of flame formed in front of Kai before being hurtling towards the area where Taiji had been standing. If the meteors hadn't finished the fight for him, Kai hoped that his fireball would. No matter what happened however, Kai had to be sure and find his blades as soon as possible."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [chakra points starting: 28 Mizutamari: 2 (chakra control) +1 (battlefield conditions) = 3 Goukyaku: 3 (chakra control) = 3 3+3 = 6 current chakra points: 22 ]

UchihaTaiji Genin | Katon | Konoha There was hardly any time for slow reactions; as taiji quickly began to seal away. Sealing for the same katon, as he sailed back towards the ground. Almost impatiently; his Katon would explode off at the same time; causing the two fireballs to try as they might to engulf the other, but to no avail. The two fireballs would stave each other back, but get no headway, And as the meteors soared towards Taiji, there where only a few things he could do about it,though none of the option where looking very promising. He was finally beginning to feel the fatigue of battle; and he knew that this would be his "Final Play". after the fireballs both cut out, Taiji dived to his right; barely avoiding the meteors that fell through the sky at him, skidding his hands along the side of the spire as he gained enough leverage to use his last burst of energy provided by his eight gates technique. He knew that it would be over soon; he could feel it. After it would finish, he knew that he would be in no condition to fight. In the spire that he was sliding down, He caught glimpses of shinning steel, more than likely; the blades that belonged to Kaizen. A rough sketch of a plot began to blossom in his head, as he finally smiled, His old senses coming back. He knew that it would be almost impossible to come out of this fight as the victor, but he could still leave an impression on Kai none the less. Once Taiji had enough leverage, he flung himself up the rock, and towards Kaizen, Using the biggest burst of speed he could muster to flash right in front of his adversary, staring right into his eyes. An immediate burst of pain would be the signal for Kaizen to look down; only to see his own two blades plunged hilt deep into his abdomen. The following spurt of blood that stained Taiji's scarf would have caused Kaizen's stomach to turn; as the feeling of profound blood loss would make him start to become sick. With a flash of white, and the scattering of Lotus petals, Taiji stood about six feet from Kaizen; his hand raised into the air as he motioned to the proctor. " Alright, Alright. I give up. I know when I've reached my limits; and I've most definitely pushed them" He chuckled softly. Looking to Kaizen, he gave him a thumbs up; and said happily "Good Job bro, you better win the next one; If I'm gonna lose, it should at least be to the winner."Goukyaku[4] + Suguni Ouda[5]

As the two fireballs connected and burst in a fiery explosion, Kai lost sight of Taiji momentarily. But before the meteors crashed into the spire, Kai saw that Taiji had managed to avoid the devastating situation all together, nothing less than Kai would expect from an opponent that had given him this much trouble. But before Kaizen could even flash through hand-seals, Taiji had appeared right in front of him, and a sharp pain wracked his body. With a questioning stare, Kai looked down to see his own blades pierced through his gut.
Blinking several times, Kai stared at the swords feeling as if this was familiar. Looking back up at Taiji, Kai realized that even at his fastest, Taiji hadn't been able to move that fast, and if he had, he surely would have utilized such speed before now. Understanding dawned on him as Kai realized he had felt this already before, in this fight no less. Another genjutsu, Kai thought to himself as he lifted his hands up to his chest Kaizen said in a soft whisper, "Kai". With that the illusion was broken, and Kai saw Taiji, no longer standing just inches away, but in fact standing several feet away, motioning for the Proctor's attention. Taiji wasn't even holding Kaizen's blades.
At Taiji's words, Kai smiled and returned the thumbs up as he said happily, "Of course I'll win, I just got my toughest fight over with. Thank you for giving it your all, Taiji." Taking a few steps towards the edge of the spire, Kai leaned over to peer down into the myriad mass of interweaving spires that made up the dragon's teeth in search of his blades. Spotting a glint of silver, Kai smiled and hopped off of the spire he was standing on, jumping lightly from spire to spire until finally reaching his blades. Picking them both up gingerly, Kai sheathed the twin blades that Sares Demascus had forged with his own two hands, the blades which reiterated that Kai was a member of the Demascus family.
Looking back up to where Taiji stood, Kai quickly hopped from spire to spire up to where he had been and waited for the Proctor to make the final ruling."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [chakra points starting: 22 Kai: 3 (chakra control) x2 (Gobi double chakra cost for non-elemental jutsu)= 6 current chakra points: 16 ]

UchihaTaiji Genin | Katon | Konoha Taiji plopped down, right on the spire he was standing on. He huffed and puffed a bit, before cracking his neck. Watching the fight from afar, the Jounin proctor was somewhat confused when he saw the Uchiha boy simply plop down after initiating a Genjutsu. Using a shunshin to get closer he was able to catch the tail end of his announcement to give up, having recognized that he had pushed himself past his limits. It seemed a little strange at first to see it all end so suddenly, when both participants looked like they might be able to push further, but there was something to be said for knowing one's limits and reacting appropriately rather then pushing and hurting oneself.
As the boys congratulated each other, the Jounin motioned them to come close to him and once they did, flashed a few hand seals as he placed his hands on each of the boy's shoulders. Just as had happened before, the sounds of the Dragon's Teeth Arena faded away just as two meteors came crashing towards the group, but the whiter light quickly engulfed them.
