Evangeline, better known as the Blue Fairy, inhabits the Wishing Star, which can be seen from Earth and has captured the imaginations of many humans (and non-humans). She came into existence when the star was born, and has been there ever since. Evangeline and the star rely on one another: the star on the fairy’s power, and the fairy on the star’s light. Without one, the other would cease to exist. Evangeline often travels to Earth, in order to act as a guide to humans who have gone astray. Occasionally, when circumstances warrant, she grants the wishes of the Earth creatures. On one voyage to Earth, Evangeline met a young charlatan in a quiet mountain village, who made his livelihood by performing “magic” in the village square.
