So here's what I was thinking : 3
--- use the guild to give each artist their own thread where requests can be made.
--- to keep the thread in the event still active, we must require people to be active to receive art, otherwise it won't count
--- have a separate thread where artists can sign up, but only if they'll stay for a long time. if not, they don't need a form and they don't have to be signed up to give freebies.
--- artists with forms can be given their own threads here. artists remaining for a few hours and such and cannot be here for more than at least 40% of the time should just be formless and give when they're online. Not to be picky, but it just makes things easier.
--- include an explanation of rules reasoning at the end; bold rules + get more helpers to enforce them.
--- also include item giveaways, raffles, minigames, etc. For those that can't do art, or just want to have more fun. :3
ANyone else have any ideas? ^o^

aw nyo's avvy looks all cute-sy again! =D
about each artists having their own thread, wouldn't that make things a bit complicated, especially if theres a lot of artists? also, it might spoil things cuz we can't have one giant conversations xP hm i dunno...just my feedback 3nodding
minigames and such sound good! we can have themed avvy contests and have art as prizes! =P

GAH. Have a thread where the artists post ALL the art that they made for people so we can redirect people there at the end of the event in case they missed their art so they don't have to dig through a thousand pages xD

a separate thread for requests and a separate one for receiving art. The main thread shouldn't be about ten thousand people begging for art to be drawn and straining artists.. It should be fun and for chatting and having a big conversation. ANd there shouldn't be so much picture quoting.>< scream gonk My scrolling finger hurts with all the picture quoting. heart

Maybe you could have a link on page one to Nyo's Playground so that everyone can see all of the available artists, the finished art thread and the individual threads of the artists so they can see where they are on the waiting list. The request thread set up sounds good, but maybe specify one post per person in that thread so it won't be so full as the Art Event thread.

For the mailing list:
It may be easier if you made an account for it, and everyone who wanted to be on the mailing list just requested to be on that account's friendlist. Then, when the time comes for everyone to be notified about an upcoming event, all you'd have to do is log onto that account and send to friendslist. Instead of having ti PM each person separately...

Just replying to some of the ideas. :3
@Ahiru----- I tried the thread thing before, and it worked okay. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, and give the artists as much freedom as I can. I figure those that can't follow the rules are iffy to give art to anyways.
Plus people always complain of the giant conversations. I think they're rather fun, so I'll always try to place emphasis on chatting in the thread, and requests just separate. Otherwise people tend to clamour over artists instead of talking and getting to know /each other/, and that's kind of pointless.
@Fi----- ; 3 I wasn't really crazy about the idea in the beginning because I didn't like people who just stopped and posted "hey, I want art" to actually get art, which seems a little unfair to me still. But by making it optional to use, that's completely up to whatever the artist feels comfortable with, which is fine with me.
@Gizmogal----- T'cha, Kotomaru is right. Events sometimes end a few minutes after when they're supposed to, so predicting the last page, let alone the last post, is very hard.
@Pauhead----- It's always very hard to prevent people from begging and annoying the artists. My best advice is to just ignore them, really. Look for the good, ignore the bad if you can. If it gets really bad, just PM the names to me and I'll ignorelist them. Or well, report them if you feel it's necessary, but I try to avoid mods getting involved whenever possible.
I'll see what I can do about the quoting thing too. :3
@Wanderlings Muse----- Mmhm, that's basically how I've begun setting it up now. I think I will take that one-post-per-person thing. I always assumed that would be implied, but some people tend to repost anyways. > >
@Polyphonic Twilight----- Yeah, I already do it like that. ^ ^ it was much easier this time because of that feature.
I didn't do it before because for awihle, the Friends@Gaia feature was disabled. :3

hehe i post thatpost before we tried it, i actually wasn't a perma-artist for the last event so i didn't come to the guild xP about the main thread, i think we should be able to post pictures we've drawn there, so it doesn't seem like useless laboring, especially if no one is even gonna appreciate the art until maybe when they go to pick it up at the indivual threads. Personally i like to see what people are drawing and stuff, its fun to comment on them too. just make sure that everyone knows to snip the pictures when quoting heart
by the way, your banner is super cute x3
