John made an announcement a while back about a clan-wide story/roleplay type thing. Remember this thread? Our loverly clan captain has asked me to provide some basic information about the world (not Gaia) in which this story thingamajig will take place. If you have any questions about anything concerning this world, please don't hesitate to ask me. This world is still in the developing stages, so I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my abilities. Welcome to Intravia, everyone.

The Elements
There are fifteen elements in the world of Intravia:
Fire Water Wind Earth Metal Light Dark Ice Lightning Plant Psychic Space Time Sound Blood
Everyone in the world has affinities with certain elements, which gives them use of that element in battle and other areas of day-to-day life. Many people have affinities for four to six elements, sometimes only one or two. But no one has only one affinity. Mostly everyone has multiple affinities, which allows for limitless possibilities.
I will be putting up a full-detail guide to the elements sometime in the future. It’s all written--just gotta type it.

Magic
Magic is very widely used in Intravia. Anyone who can draw in magical particles called eles from the air or atmosphere can use magic, usually according to what their elemental affinities are.
However, there are certain people who are born with eles in their bloodstream. These people are called mages, and specialize in using magic both in combat and in everyday life. Most mages use magic exclusively, relying on nothing else.

Technology
There is a vast array of different types of technology in Intravia. Certain technology isn’t very widely spread, though, because certain areas have developed different technologies depending on the resources available. Cities have developed themselves centered on certain elements, and these play a huge role in the technology available. For example, a predominantly windy city would utilize wind power and wind magic to operate giant windmills and power their establishments. A city inhabited by metal adepts would be constructed mostly of iron and other types of metal. There are countless other examples.
Nightmare City, which is the capital of Intravia, is the only city where technologies from all over the world are used in conjunction with one another. This is due to many different people from all parts of the world living there.

So the people with eles in their blood are more powerful than the ones who just extract it from the air? And is it possible to combine two affinities to create a new one, like water+fire=steam?

Weasel-chan So the people with eles in their blood are more powerful than the ones who just extract it from the air? And is it possible to combine two affinities to create a new one, like water+fire=steam? (sorry for the late reply) Well, people with Eles just find casting magic easier and be seen as "naturals". Real power would come from honing that natural talent. As far as combining affinities, you could create new spells and effects, but not new affinities, ie; you could be able to use fire and water spells, but no one would call you a "steam adept".

D: Yes, we would love suggestions. Lay'em on us! No problem, I forgot about this as well XD I have none right now, but I might be able to make a map of Intravia if you give me enough details. If you have somebody else though you should let that person do it; mine tend to look somewhat crappy... xd
