Self-government only seems to work on a small scale.

Socialism: All property is owned by the government.
Fascism: According to my History Teacher, it's "Where the government is more important than the individual. EVILEVILEVIL." What she left out, however, is that Fascism relies on Laissez-faire capitalism, and it's really where the government allows its buddies, the corporation, to s**t on the economy while the government shits on individual rights.
Capitalism: Where anyone can do anything, if they have the money. Corporations can do absolutely anything they want, with no regulation and no rules. It's where corporations become micro totalitarian governments.
Communism: Where there is no government rulers, all resources are shared equally, and all decisions are made democratically. There has NEVER been a real communist country.

Obscurus Self-government only seems to work on a small scale. Unfortunately. The biggest examples of actual, 100% democracy are, what? Athens, Ancient Greece? Maybe some nomadic tribes?
