"Ah-ha!" He shouted, waking the roost of songbirds cooing peacefully in the boughs above. The simple creatures had long since learned not to the fear the lonesome Kimeti who had taken root just below their tree, and despite his near constant shouts, chants and startling epiphanies, they had accepted him as one of their own. The group woke slowly, chittering as they darted from branch to branch, circling the dark one - watching him as he stirred.

"Ah-ha!" He called again, shaking his heavy head as he awoke from a great and powerful vision. His legs ached, his body twitched and writhed, even his horns seemed to pulse with the new found light that coiled up and out from his very soul. He had seen it. Finally!

He had walked lone for so long, a familiar shadow stretched from his marshland home to the walls of water and ice he'd yet to know by hoof. In his vision he recalled the gradual loss of his sight and the sorrow that followed, then the joy which reclaimed him when he found he could circle the vastness of the earth within his dreams. He saw glorious things. Bleary places and veiled things yet to pass. Things that had long ago came into being.

Everything.

But this time he walked further. He broke past the veil, a world painterly and somehow unreal though he'd seen it a thousand times in his youth. As he wandered past the familiar veil and into the frightening uncertainty of darkness - true darkness - he froze. Voices. A great song that moved the wind and forced the seasons ever forward.

'What are you doing here?" They lulled.

"You aren't supposed to be here. How did you find us?" They demanded, voices soft yet terrifying in all their oneness.

Words would not find Night Heron. He was afraid. Afraid of that which he could not see. Afraid of this darkness... but in that darkness he saw them. Lights, like the eyes of his kin, breaking apart the night. Breaking apart the otherworld.

He needed to find them.

☆ WHO WE ARE ☆

The Birdsoul Clan are a group of Kimeti (and Kin) who have a deep and significant connection with themselves and the outlying world. We are Prophets, Soothsayers, Oracles and Mages. We are Druids and Medicine Men. We are Shamans.

☆ WHAT WE DO ☆

With the power of an enlightened many comes a greater understanding of the mysteries of life - the otherworlds, the veil, and even our subconscious minds. As a group, The Birdsouls are Shamans looking to expand our knowledge of the universe and apply these teachings and practices to everyday life.

We look to the stars for answers.

We look to the earth for answers.

We look to one another for answers.

Our ultimate goal is to reach complete awakening - the ultimate control of our skill(s).

☆ CLAN CEREMONIES ☆

Moon Circle: The tribe gathers once per month under a full moon, meeting on high ground for meditation and to discuss the past month's revelations and concerns. This event begins at the spotting of the first star and ends with the first light of dawn. Food is forbidden, but imbibing the juice of a particular cactus is encouraged.

☆ LIST OF TERMS ☆

These terms have been altered slightly for canon.

Shaman: One acting as a medium between the visible and spirit worlds; practices sorcery for healing or divination. This is an all-encompasing term to describe an Oracle, Soothsayer, Herbalist or Mage.

Oracle: A person through whom the Motherfather speaks directly. These individuals often fall into trances or dream states to relay messages from the spirit of the Earth. These individuals are very rare, tend to be Legendaries and are regarded highly in the Shamanic community.

Soothsayer: One who is able to foretell events or predict the future via direct interpretation with the tangible universe, dreams and physical mediums. (Runecasters, Astrologers, Etc.)

Herbalist One who grows, collects, or specializes in the use of herbs, especially medicinal herbs, for use in healing, spiritual awakening and ceremonies.

Mage: A Magician or Sorcerer. One who is capable of altering their environment through mixing brews, chanting, and other forms of spiritual magic. Any practicing magic-user is considered a Mage, regardless of skill level.
