Epiphany is the right word, right?
Anyhoo. Why the hell am I taking birthcontrol to regulate my periods? Monthly periods vs. Periods 2-4 times a year. I think I prefer the latter. Now my mum is bitching at me because I don't wanna take it anymore. Horrah!

Do you know why your periods are irregular?
It sounds like if you were given BC to regulate your periods, it's because your periods were irregular due to hormonal imbalances.
I'm not a biologist or a doctor, but presumably, you get some health benefit from these hormones that you wouldn't get if they were imbalanced. Just skimming the Wiki page, it seems like estrogen does things like accelerate metabolism and helps protein synthesis, as well as all sorts of other bodily things.
All I'm saying is that don't just go off your BC because you feel like it. Periods are annoying and we all like to b***h about them, but they're part of a healthy functioning body. At the very least, consult your doctor before you go off BC.
