Sirène walked happily up to the unusual building. She was to get a child today from this place. The woman opened the door to the main lobby, and walked up to the desk. Sirène chimed the bell on the desk when she deduced that no one was there, hoping that someone would come.

"WAAAGH!" the noise came from somewhere under the desk as the bell woke them up. A short woman with fluffy hair, big black glasses and lots of freckles stared at Sirene. "um hi. Welcome to Mixers, what can I do for you?"

"Oui!" The grey-skinned woman smiled, "I have received zis letter saying zat I can adopt a child. Is zis ze right place?" Sirène looked around at the lobby.

"Well I assume so. There are lots of places that let you adopt kids and this is just one of them, but I think that sounds about right." Apoxi agreed with a nod, taking a look at it. "Yep that looks about right. So any idea what you'd like?"

The question made the woman think a bit, "Hm... Do you have a child zat can breath underwater..? I have a watery home." Sirène smiled at the nice woman.

"Yeah we have a few that can live underweater. We've got siren children, mermaid children, all of which are combined with other creatures to give them extra abilities and powers. Any preference?"

Smiling, Sirène nodded, "Um... How about a siren." She adjusted the shell purse on her shoulder.

"Sure," the little woman agreed, showing her down the hall to a bunch of doors. There were little windows in each door to look in on the kids and two stamps on each door, looking like a large thick = sign. The top bar or 'stamp' was colored one way and the bottom another.
"All the kids whose doors have a blue stamp on the bottom are siren kids. Just look in and see what you like before you go in to pick anything. If you do go in to visit, please don't make any promises and don't ask for names - they don't have any."

The woman nodded at the rules. She understood what she was saying completely. Sirène looked in the ones with the blue stamp. There were many different ones! Although, one had caught her attention. She peered closely at it.
In the room was a little girl who indeed had characteristics like a siren, but something else, too... The woman looked at Apoxi, "So what ozer creature ez ziz?"

"Kirin." the little woman stated after barely a glance. She was getting quite used to the characteristics. "You can tell from the brown scales."
