Character Name: Azuran
Age: 16 17 (aged up)
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft/Rank: Weyrbrat/Candidate
History: Born and raised in the Weyr, Azuran has known no other life but this. Not that he minds or anything. He never really knew his parents (only having heard that his father was one of the riders supposedly) and he’s always maintained a rather loose connection with his foster mother, but all in all he’s quite happy with life.
As a child he wandered about the Weyr quite freely and often found ways to keep himself entertained with simple games and such. As he grew older and had to help out more, however, the youth began having to find slightly 'different' ways of seeking amusement. Occasionally he'd work together on schemes with some of the others his around his age, but Azuran quickly discovered that with more people involved in plans, it was much easier to trace the pranks back to their origin. Therefore he went back to keeping his pranks a mostly private matter, only letting along a few trustworthy friends when the time called for it.
As he came of age, Azuran was both thrilled and beyond surprised to be selected as a Candidate. He's poured all of his efforts into his studies (one of the few things he puts much effort into actually), and even though he has yet to be impressed by a dragon he still remains hopeful.
Description: Azuran has medium length black hair with longer bangs that partially cover his right eye. His eyes are a vibrant blue color, and his skin is only slightly tanned. His body is of a lean build, and his total height is approximately 5’8”. Personality: Growing up around the Weyr, Azuran was often pegged as a bit of a troublemaker. Whenever a bucket of sand mysteriously appeared above a doorway or important tools weren’t in their usual places, it could usually be traced back to the ebony-haired youth. At least, if one were to investigate far enough into the matter. For you see, Azuran was normally never around to actually see the results of his schemes, instead just as pleased to hear about them second-hand later on. (Hey, he had to have some way to entertain himself in his spare time.) He was very careful in not leaving any tracks or clues, but not always successful. Granted, none of his pranks were ever particularly harmful, but they were certainly annoying enough to those involved. Fortunately, with age, these pranks have died down a lot in frequency.
Azuran is outwardly friendly to basically anyone he meets. Even if he is not particularly fond of a person, he will still try his best to at least be polite and civil. Because of this he generally gets along with others fairly well.
When not busy working around the Weyr or spending time with a few close friends, Azuran can be quite withdrawn. So much so, in fact, that it is often difficult to find him when needed if the person searching doesn't know where to look. While he may always be polite around others, the youth is actually not very fond of being around too many people. This often makes him quite difficult to get a hold of, and even his foster-mother gets fed up with his disappearances from time to time. This seems almost to be a paradox given his occasional trouble making ways, but really those incidents are more just for private amusement than for attracting any sort of attention. This is also why most of his schemes are rather small-scale and non-impressive.
Due to his private nature, Azuran is quite loyal to those he considers friends, and he would never do anything to betray them. He also prides himself in being a man of his word, and would never intentionally go back on a promise.
One unfortunate flaw that the youth struggles with however is that he has a bit of a lazy streak in him. If he finds a task to be uninteresting, he'll try to avoid it if at all possible. He doesn't volunteer to do very many menial tasks around the Weyr, and will usually only assist if asked directly.
This lazy streak in part has led him to be a classic procrastinator. If something can be put off until a later time, it usually won't be completed until last minute. This has nearly gotten him into much trouble in the past, and it is a vice which he continues to struggle with.
After all is said and done, when it is time to be serious Azuran is right there with the best of them. The Weyr and those within are important to him, and he would do anything to protect them. He dreams of someday becoming a dragon rider so that he may be able to do more to help protect and serve the Weyr.

Excellent start! However, there's a few things I need you to address before I can accept you.
Your history is very short. I understand that his background isn't particularly colourful but at the same time I would like to hear a little but more about it - two paragraphs is generally a good goal to strive for. As it is, your history is rather vague and I'm not comfortable accepting that quite yet. Flesh it out a bit more and you should be fine.
His personality has an awesome start but I don't really see any definite flaws. His prankster ways have diminished, so that's not really a flaw anymore... He's reclusive but friendly... so that's not a flaw either. And for that... do you mean he's a private person? A recluse tends to spurn social activity completely whereas a private person separates social from personal yet there's room for both. And he may be impulsive but that's not really stressed at all. Try to shape a couple of those starts into definite flaws and you'll be good to go.
