I just finished watching the State of the Union Address, and I was wondering about your opinions on some of the policies and such that Bush was proposing. He said "nucular" again... xp
Here's some of the things I felt strongly about:
- No Child Left Behind Act (detrimental to our schools, teaching kids what to think rather than how to think, focuses too much on standardized test scores to the point where productive classtime is interrupted. Also detrimental to children with learning disorders who for some reason or another can't be tested out.)
- Too much focus on Women and Minorities (this only rewards people for thinking that they are less just because they are minorities. Words like "minority" and "poverty" are only mentalities. They need to be overcome, and these people should not have benefits from their genetics for the same reason they should not be discriminated against.)
- Updated Tax codes to be easier to understand and more applicable... less frivolous spending of tax dollars (finally, a good idea.)
- Healthcare to become more affordable (where will you get the money to make it more affordable? From my tax dollars?)
- Affordable environmentally responsible energy (ditto)
- Strengthen and Save Social Security (point was very well made and I like the idea he proposed... sounds like it ought to work, since each person is responsible for his or her own money and doesn't have to give any to anyone else.)
- Constitutional Ammendment to protect the institution of Marriage (a twenty eighth ammendment, are you freakin' serious? For something like that? You're asking for trouble... it's not worth the fight. What's wrong with letting them get married? They're not hurting anyone.)
- I remember hearing something about "staying on the OFFENSIVE against terrorism until the fight is won..." and then I heard about how we are able to DEFEND ourselves against attack. Which are we doing?

Haha, I also caught him saying "nucular".
Didn't he say something about if your 55 or older your retirement plan will not change. Then he talked about his plan to have people under 55 save their own retirement fund by taking money from your pay check and putting it into a bank acounttype that you can either spend when you reach a certain age or pass it onto your family when you die.
That just sounds like too much trouble compared to just storing money away in your own house.
When did marriage even become so spechal, men and women have been getting devorces so fast after marriage that its not even "sacrid" anymore. Oh well, if a gay couple wanted to get married they could allways go to Cannada eh. Hooray for Cannada! Hooray for maple leafs!
He also made it sound like we will be going to more wars in these 4 years.
All in all, Bush needs to get brain cancer and d**k needs to die of another heart attack. I can't wait for new stuff on www.bushflash.com and www.toostupidtobepresident.com
