These two problems seem to be completely unrelated... is there some holistic cure for mercury poisoning?
Anyway, most holistic medicine is either placebo or working medicine reduced beyond efficacy, right? That would make them more crooks than quacks. A holistic doctor, however would simply mean someone who treats you on the psychological environmental as well as physical levels... But I think no amount of hypnosis is gonna make you and your body forgot about a slow small stream of neuro-toxin.
You should just have it replaced.
The word is amalgam, by the way.

People will believe what they want to believe.
You cannot change their minds, they have to do that. Experience is a good teacher.
Sometimes, if people are science-minded, you can show them the studies and how the chemistry works, and it will make sense to them. Sometimes if it doesn't come from a medical school or big pharma, they won't even look at it.
There is room for both our traditional "practice of medicine" and a more holistic approach. Nutrition is beginning to be taught again, in depth, in some traditional medical schools, after being mostly ignored for the past 50 years, so there is hope. I wouldn't go to a holistic doctor for a broken limb, and I don't feel it's necessary to see an M.D. for things that I have brought on myself by bad habits, like eating junk and not exercising.

I am not sure what a Holistic Doctor is but do not worry about the mercury filling. Simply have it replaced with something that is nontoxic, my fillings are white but I don't know what is in it, and your body should relieve itself of the toxins. The good thing is that your filling is just a small dose of mercury and it shouldn't have much of an effect on you. But if it does, go see your doctor for advice on how to approach this situation.

Much as it's painful to hear, there are times when a well-reasoned argument just doesn't work. Understand, I am in no way advocating force, just saying that there are times when you can talk til you're blue in the face and others - particularly family - will never see it. Years ago, when I first became eco-conscious, among other things, certain members of my family thought it was a personal attack. After all, I was raised to be a tree-hugging, recycling, hippie type. They've pretty much accepted it now ( As in, that guy? He's my crazy brother/son/uncle). Don't stop trying though. If this is something you strongly believe in ( I'm guessing you're meaning homeopathic, rather than just holistic), then my best advice is continue to gently let them see your POV and the fact that you use these guys and suffer no adverse affects. As a matter of fact, my father actually now uses some of the same remedies I use, with great success.
As for the teeth, yeah, just have the amalgam replaced. Mercury is bad, very bad. Definitely, definitely bad.

I just reread my post and realized I had a brain fart and merged the terms homeopathic and holistic in my mind. AND NOONE CALLED ME ON IT! (Insert laughter)
Anyway, holism is essentially merged into most modern day medicine, where as homeopathy is a system of drug administration where one uses beyond belief small amounts of a substance, because someone told them that "water has memory." Something, that if true--and to the extent that we would be lead to believe-- Would have us all ODing on tap water.
You should know anything I write during the "so late that it's early hours" is prone to confusion.
