Colossus0112 Tricastelin Colossus0112 Tricastelin Albern In a standard deck focusing mostly on aggression, it is really good. Outside of standard, though, Albern would much rather play Psychatog. haha, yeah....psychatog gets the gold there. i wonder why...oh yeah! it's because he's pretty much the best creature in magic... that is actually a tough one, yea Tog is great but there are also other creatures equally as broken so its hard to say its the best creature in magic i'm having a hard time thinking of any creature better than 'tog...there's nothing else that's really "equally as broken". of course, it depends on what format you're playing, but for type 1, 'tog reigns supreme. for extended, ravager is probably the most influencial right now...but tog is still up there. Tog is good in a Tog deck, put it in like a Welder deck and it sucks or just anything not supported for Tog.........personally my fav is Goblin Welder so you can't say which is the 1 best creature welder is a great creature...but he's for comboing out huge artifacts! 'tog...he's just awesome all around. in every format he's been in he's made an impact, and he's good in just soooooo many decks...in type 1, lots of decks just throw him in there because they have the mana base to be able to support him.

yes but your not grasping he doesn't 100% work and there are creatures equally as good......everything in this game is situational......if they have counter, removal, tap down, etc..... its good I know but calling it the best without putting it against every single deck and every single card is kinda pointless..........plus it is just do overused now its insane. I know people want to win but dang can nobody use an original deck. I mean now we're seeing Zoo, Rock, etc.....but I am trying the Sins of the Past and Storm Heard thing because I am just bored playing the same deck and playing against the same decks over and over. I think the last original deck I played against was Rats and thats because its rare and........not great mainly because the guy didn't know how to use Marrow. He would have beaten me if he had used it correctly but I dropped another Crown of Convergence and he was screwed. So its the same crap with tog over and over and over.........hell I was even using Sarcatog (I doubt most know what that is off the top of their head without looking it up) because it was never seen anywhere and I was using it instead of that disgrace Ravager because it was just more fun to do something original

Tog sucks hardcore in Legacy though, which is the major format everyone plays around here lol (I live in the middle of nowhere) Not to mention Tog has defintely dropped from being the best deck in Extended. Tog is good but he's not all that good in competitive magic at the moment.

Colossus0112 it became outdated when Onslaught block and Mirrodin block came there wasn't really any single creature that could compare to the sleekness of the 'tog in onslaught block....akroma was good, but ony in reanimator. same for rorix (the exception was in the red decks with seething song). goblins needed each other to be good. but the tog all alone....such a satisfying feeling to see him on your side of the board...

yea but togs are so damn boring, and alot of players will say you suck because using tog is like using Ravager. and in onslaught block Zombies became such a pain to deal with and the fact they were fast along with goblin bidding tog was dead by then really. but using tog now pretty much just shows you have no originality and just net deck

Tog needs a deck built around him. Then you actually have to think. Do I cast my card draw now, or wait until I have enough mana to cast it AND counter something that myopponent might play? Also with Ravanger, the deck was basically built FOR YOU! There were no veriations on the deck. But with Tog there is. Should I run Upheavel, or Life Over The Loam? There are many different dicisions to make with Tog, with Ravanger, there isn't. Well, one: Which Onithopter should I put my Crainial Plating on?
