The bar was one of those adverse places. Dim lighting paired with questionable patrons made for an seemingly risky environment. Trishna loved it. There was alcohol, a sense of danger, and gullible fools who were so easy to part from their money.

The brown fox sat at a table with her drink while she eyed the others in the the room. If she was going to spend the night alone, this was possibly one of the better ways to go about it.

She swished her tail behind her as she downed the rest of her drink. Maybe she could make the night even better, if she could run into someone to kill a little time with.

Aella trotted into the bar with a slight snarl, in an obviously foul mood. She needed a drink like no one's business, though, her funds were getting a bit low. She hadn't found a good mark in a while. Her usual con revolved around a partnership she didn't have anymore and she wasn't nearly as successful on her own. Maybe enough for a common thief, but not enough to support the life style she was accustomed to. And now to get her liquor she had to resign to a place like this.

She found it all very infuriating and the displeasure showed through clearly on her face in spite of the painted makeup. She sat down, away from anyone else. Aella rarely socialized unless there was something in it for her, and she didn't foresee any profit lingering in any of the patrons.

Trishna glanced up as the other female stepped in the bar. Light streamed in from the streetlights outside as she opened the door, illuminating her for the briefest of moments. A small smile curled the corners of Trishna's mouth. Her interest was peeked, for certain.

She stretched as she slid out of her chair. Humming a jaunty tune, she moved to the bar, ordering two drinks. She grinned as she headed towards the table where Aella sat. "You look like you could use a stiff drink, sugar."

Aella's snake tail snapped against the floor behind her when she was approached, looking up to the other female, briefly, with a 'get away from me' sort of glare. But... she was alone, something her leeching personality didn't deal with well, plus this stranger was attractive and she'd ordered two drinks.

If hanging out with her didn't drain her dwindling liquor fund then Aella could quickly learn to tolerate her.

"That's an understatement," She said with a sigh, her previous, glowering attitude fading to something more distressed with less of an angry undertone, almost just excusing her slip of a glare earlier. She pushed out the other chair with her foot to welcome the vixen to have a seat, resting her muzzle in her clawed paws. "But then who doesn't need a stiff drink in this place, eh, honey?"

A lopsided grin appeared on Trishna's face as she took a seat in the offered chair. She ignored the brief hostility with complete indifference. This woman looked interesting, and that in itself was forefront in her mind.

"That's what this place is best for. Well, that, and a cheap game of pool." She chuckled softly to herself. The last game she played here won her some money. "And if you're lucky, you might actually stumble on someone who's worth talkin' to."

Her grin grew larger as the drinks she ordered were delivered to the table. "Ah, thanks."

Aella lightly chewed on the end of one of her claws, looking like she was thinking over the options the establishment had to off before shaking her head. "I don't know how to play pool," She said.

"I take it that means you fancy yourself something work talking to?" She asked, giving the other vixen a bit of a cocky smirk. She always seemed to fail at keeping up a decent facade around other females. They were too easily seen as competition rather then a mark.

She gave a slight glance at the two drinks. Logic would say one was for her and she wasn't about to let her paranoia cease here. When they were delivered, she passed over the one that was handed to her and grabbed the one set closer to Trishna. Experience showed it's silly to take what's offered to you and under normal circumstances she wouldn't have taken a drink at all, but she was seriously running dry on liquor and boy did she need a drink.

"I suppose I can teach you, if you like." Trishna stretched out in her chair, a lazy smile plastered on her face. "And I guess it would depend on who I'm talkin' to, wouldn't it? Some people just don't..." She waved a paw lightly in the air as she looked for the right word. "Click. You gotta have two people who are worth talkin' to to have a good time, you know what I'm sayin'?"

A smirk grew on her face as she watched the other female grab the glass closest to herself. "Cautious, ain't we?" She grabbed for the remained glass and took a drink.

Aella just gave a slight, half glance over her shoulder towards the pool table at the offer to teach her and lightly tapped her small claws against the glass with a hesitant but almost hopeful sounding, "Maybe..."

She shot her gaze back across the table to Trishna and gave a passive, one shouldered shrug punctuated with a scoff and pursed lips. "I was in the mercenary business for eight years, there's nothing wrong with a considerable amount of caution. Especially around strangers with no established motive."

"It'll be fun. And there ain't nothing wrong with pickin' up a new skill. 'Specially, if you get good enough at it that you can use that skill to make someone else loose a little money." Trishna grinned as she took another drink.

"I suppose." She shrugged. "Wasn't tryin' to criticize you or anything. Besides, I wouldn't poison anyone I was chattin' with. That would cast a little too much suspicion on me. I'm not exactly a fan of those men in blue uniforms comin' to ask me questions."

"You'd be surprised how many people don't think that part of the plan through," Aella said, sounding like she was actually enjoying this conversation as one of the claws wrapped around the glass pointed to Trishna and she gave the other fox a slink wink. She leaned one arm over the back of her chair, taking another sip of her drink as she watched the pool table, flicking an ear.

"Money? Alright, let's play," She stated, inviting her to be an opponent rather then asking to be taught, though she didn't exactly sound like she knew what she was doing, which would make sense considering she just confessed she didn't know how to play.

Trishna laughed. "I'm more surprised with how many people don't think period. 'Course, that just makes life easier for those of us that do." She leaned forward on the table, watching Aella, humor glimmering in her eyes. The more they talked, the more she was intrigued by the other female.

"Alright then." She grinned as she downed the rest of her drink. "Let's do a few practice rounds, and I'll show you the ropes." She slid out of her chair to her feet.

Aella gave a pleased smirk, polishing off her drink and getting up, strolling over to pick up one of the pool cues awkwardly, and looking to Trishna for a bit of guidance, tapping her claws against the wood.

"How does one... ugh..." She didn't even finish the phrase, fumbling with trying to mimic how she saw others with it.
