Rivener felt a small flare of jealousy. Doucette had seen the real thing! Weak or not, it was real, and it had probably been amazing. "You definitely should take your raevan to see it! ...Although it might be a problem actually if it has to feed off the borealis itself. There's none here... Be sure you notice if it's getting weak from lack of food! And, and, try the planetarium's light show as well, if it has to eat the borealis! Wow, that would suck, having such a rare food source." Riv lifted a thumb to his teeth, pondering. As far as he knew, Raevans ate from their essences, not their souls. So the thing would have to eat something that had to do with the Borealis, there was no two ways about it.
The woman seemed startled at having to name the thing, drawing Riv's gaze again. He raised an eyebrow. "Well, we don't name ourselves... Do we?" Riv glanced at Aphi.
"I don't know, maybe some do? But I had to pick your name, and Isi picked Eiry's... I don't know if Alex picked Zul's or not. But," he turned to Doucette with a smile, "it's good to have a few picked out just to be ready." The chef reached out and gave the woman an encouraging pat on the shoulder: she seemed rather overwhelmed by all this, and Aphi could easily understand why. "Don't worry, everything will be worth it when you meet your very own Raevan."
Riv smirked, not quite sure Aphi meant that, really. Sometimes the guardians didn't seem like they cared a lick for their Raevan... but unless his Borealis-Jellyfish was a complete jerk, Doucette seemed the type who'd actually care for it. "Yeah, everything'll be fine as long as you're careful. With the equipment. Go get that soul quick so you don't carry this around so openly anymore." Riv pointed decisively to the bottle, frowning lightly. "The sooner the better."

Doucette was startled by Rivener's small speech and she blanched slightly at his words. She really knew so little about these things! It has to eat aurora?! Lifting a hand she rubbed at the freckles smattering across the bridge of her nose, just closing her eyes for a moment and breathing. If she'd been a dog there would have been drooping ears and a tail tucked right up between her legs. Maybe she could go home and get out the encyclopedia. No. Too old fashioned, Raevans probably weren't listed. Maybe she should head to the library and use one of their computers to search around on the internet. Surely there was some hard core fan blogging about their crap or something.
Red curls bounced as she nodded her head, letting it all soak in. Figure out what it eats. Give it a name. Pick the right soul. Insert any other number of things that she's going to to have to take care of. Somehow though it was still easier than thinking about taking care of a baby. These Raevan's didn't seem to have any...hem...waste production capabilities?
Never the less, Rivener jolted her out of her head quite suddenly and she followed the point of his finger to the soul bottle still clutched protectively within her lap. "Oh yes," she breathed out, suddenly seeming to spring into action and shoving everything into her purse the way it should be. There was soul catching to be done, and Rivener might give her bonus points with the "sooner the better" approach.
"Here's my card, feel free to contact me for, erm, any reason," Doucette finished lamely. Actually she was hoping they would give out some of their information to her; she was excited to go capture her soul and then tell Rivener she'd accomplished her feat. Maybe he would also be happier to shed some light on what she was supposed to be expecting from this whole thing.

She seemed to be getting the picture, and this indeed made Riv smile slightly, easing out of that frown he'd worn previously. When the card was offered, Riv snatched it up before Aphismet could, the Scorpion whipping out his cell phone and instantly beginning to punch in the numbers and name. Aphi could keep the card after.
Since the Sigel was now busy, Aphismet figured he should be the one to fill in the silence. "Thank you," he began brightly, motioning to the card so it was clear what he meant. "We'll be sure to keep this handy in case we need anything. And here's mine," Aphi produced a card from his wallet, looking mighty pleased. He'd only gotten these recently, but at the rate they were meeting new people the chef was damned glad he'd bought them. "We're also on the Lab's contact listing, if you've received it. If you ever have questions or want to talk about anything, come on over! We love company." The chef grinned, offering his hand to shake on top of the card-giving.
"Got your numbers," Rivener interrupted, handing the now-useless card to his guardian. "Be sure to get that soul! ...And be nice to your Raevan." The Scorpion's Big Brother side was flaring lightly, pre-emptively protective of his kin... But Doucette was a nice enough woman, he reminded himself. She'd be a good Guardian. "...Good luck, I guess. With the soul capturing."

"Contact list?" she echoed, thinking herself foolish. Of course there must be a contact list. Another devious workings of the stalker doctor no doubt...well at least no one had tried calling her so far. The red head was rather good at normality and would likely not find it pleasing for random people to be 'hitting up her phone' as all the cool kids liked to call it these days. Not that she could even say she knew a cool kid, but that was neither here nor there at the very moment.
Aphismet's offer brought a smile and a blush to her cheeks. Kindred in a sense, they still hardly knew each other and he was already treating her so sweetly. "That's so sweet of you," she said, pocketing the card politely and pushing her bag onto her shoulder. Thank god the rain was letting up. If she was lucky, she'd make it to the ferry without further compromise. "Ah, of course the invitation is open for yourself as well...though I live on an island, so few people come out there." Doe grinned apologetically.
"I'll call you when I capture my soul," Doucette promised the Raevan. He didn't seem the type that would play the big brother, but she had a feeling she was going to want to brag about her soul capture in any case, and being able to tell Rivener would be delightful of course.
And so with those promises made she took her leave with a rather wary eye on the clouds and a hope her lack of an umbrella wouldn't cause her more stress for the day.
