Attention Rocket Agents!

Yes, and you grunts, too. We can use all the help we can get here. Everyone, listen up. This is important.

We've received reports that a rare Pokémon has been sighted near Elemi Lake. TRHQ scientists believe this Pokémon may be an escapee from our cloning program. As you are all aware, Team Rocket's mandate directs us to acquire Pokémon for the greater glory of Team Rocket. Having a rare Pokémon just ... out there ... where anyone could get it ... well, I'm sure you're as horrified as I am.

We need to correct this as soon as possible. But in order to do that, we need to send the best. The best of the best. I don't want to risk losing this Pokémon to the blundering of some grunt who doesn't know a Staryu from a Staravia.

We're going to do this old-school. If you'd like a shot at heading out to contain this potentially dangerous Pokémon, fill in the following form. Do your best, recruits.

For the glory of Team Rocket!

The Rules

This contest runs from Tuesday, April 27th at 12 noon Eastern to Friday, May 7th at 9 pm Eastern. You may submit forms any time during this period.

Only submit one form. That multiple forms business is for those jerks in HR. You wanna push pencils? Go talk to them. I'm in a hurry.

Submit your form in this thread. Be sure to fill the whole thing out.

You can edit your form as many times as you like before the deadline. But don't copy other people when you do it. We steal Pokémon here, not ideas.

You don't need any Pokémon to participate. You don't need a Rocket ID, either. All you need is a quick mind. And a spellchecker.

Speaking of which, spelling and grammar will not count against you, but I have to be able to understand what you're saying. I don't want you radioing in from the field telling me your pokman iz nt wrknig wtf!!!11one1?

To enter, you must have at least 1,000 posts made on your account; no mules. If you're on a new account due to a hack/ban/etc, post the name of your old main account with your entry.

If you have any questions, post them here or PM Lumi. I won't see them in the event thread. And, while I appreciate the courtesy, you don't have to ask before you PM me. I won't bite. (Unless you make sudden moves. Y'know how it is.)

FAQ

Q. Do we have to use this prompt? Can we just make something up?
A. Yes, you do. No, you can't.

Q. 1st person or 3rd person?
A. I don't care. Just try not to switch back and forth.

Q. I don't have a Rocket character! Can I make one up to do this?
A. Yes. In fact, I'd suggest it. However, you're also welcome to post answers as your Gaia person, your real-life self, or some other OC. Creativity counts.

Q. Can I post with a Pokémon as my character?
A. I suppose so, but remember that Benji movie where none of the animals spoke? I hated that movie. Just to put that out there.
Also remember any of these special rules here don't count for what you can do in the usual shop RP.

Q. Can we god-mod NPC or shop characters?
A. Yes, BUT it only counts for this RP prompt. If you make your character and Seth BFF, don't expect it to carry over into the shop, 'kay? 'cause he doesn't like you. Srsly.

Q. How long does it have to be? Is there a word limit?
A. It can be as long or as short as you need to tell your story.

Q. I'm trying to win the auction Mew. Can I still enter this?
A. Yes, but if you win the auction, your entry here won't be considered. Don't be a Mew hog. D<

Favorite kind of footwear:
Name of favorite childhood pet:

Essay portion: Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability.

Question 1: You're in the THRQ break room and there's a birthday cake sitting unattended on the table. Looking at it more closely, you see "Happy Birthday Seth" written in icing across the top. No one is around. No one will see anything. What do you do?

Question 2: You're out in the field, pursuing a Milotic that you've been told the big boss wants very badly. This is an important mission for you; there could be a promotion in the making if you do a good job.

You make your way to the area the Milotic was last seen, intent on setting up surveillance until you spot it, when you discover someone has beaten you to it! A Team Magma camp is already up and operational in the area.

There are several tents set up, each with various pieces of equipment inside. They may even have other Pokémon here, somewhere, though probably not the Milotic you're supposed to be finding.

At the moment, no one's home; the place is deserted. But they could be back at any moment.

What do you do? Does anyone show up, and what do you say or do to them? Just Team Magma, or someone else entirely? What do you find in the camp, or do you just ignore it and look for the Milotic? And how does the mission end? The suspense is killing me!

Cake: A sugary mess of fats and carbohydrates. Tempting, tantalizing...

"Disgusting." Repo breathed out sharply before turning away from the festive desert and taking his usual seat, alone, in one corner of the abandoned cafeteria. Sweet treats were for children, and those who could afford to wreck their nutritional standards.

And after all, today he'd packed himself tyranitar shaped chicken nuggets to go with his cheese stick and whole grain crackers! AND a box of Oran Juice!

Quickly now, but be gentle. Panicking will only make you make mistakes. This is simple, just stay alert.

The mission had been to locate and capture a Pokemon, one specifically requested by the Boss. The field situation had changed though, and steps had had to be taken to compensate and possibly salvage the mission. Nine, ten...Magmas...why are they here?...Twelve, thirteen... The only reason he could think of had to do with draining the lake. Well, that would make finding the beached Milotic easier, sure, but it would cause some other...difficulties.

Dressed all in black and gray, the thief blended in under the night sky. Around the magma setup a few small lights flickered; lamps left burning by their owners, ones he'd dared not turn off. They were inconsequential. He would hear their return long before they saw him lingering in the inky shadows between tents or caught the glint of lantern light on slick metalic pokeballs.

Faster, and faster still...get the rhythm...there! Stealing was an art form at most, and a skill at the least. Nimble fingers could pluck the tiny pokeballs from the pile easily, slipping them into a wadding of thin cloth and then bundling them further still by dropping them noiselessly into the abyss of a soft canvas bag. How ironic, that this mission had been his. For a brief moment, alone in the night, the thief permitted himself a smile. Anyone could steal with some skill, but this was what he did. Where he excelled. In a blur of darting hands and nearly noiseless movements he swiftly filled his sack, even stuffing one of the lifted orbs into his pocket as the bag ran low on space. A few times he paused, hunching with his head tilted just so at the sound of a snapping twig or a rustle in the brush. He blinked once, twice...nothing more, and he moved on, gingerly zipping the pack before swinging it over his shoulder.

The grass stank of mildew and mud as he slunk away from the camp, bent nearly double to avoid view. The blades nicked at his arms and legs as he pushed through them, and again as they folded back together behind him. The path he took was a curving one, and he often stopped to peek above the grass-line for any sign of the returning Magmas and to check where he was in relation to the surrounding forest and lake. He was startled once by the sound of a golbat going by overhead and hunkered down, praying not to be seen or sensed. It flew on a ways before banking into the trees, and he beat a hasty advance to put some distance between himself and the spot. If it belonged to a Magma and had seen him, he didn't want to be anywhere near the place.

He spent nearly an hour hidden behind a fallen log that had half-sunk in the wet land near the water's edge. He hadn't seen anything of the Magmas and that made him all the more cautious. If he'd seen them he'd know where they were, but this way he was literally sitting blind. His grip tightened around the rope cord of the bag full of stolen goods. It briefly touched his mind that they could all be empty, and hardly worth the risk he'd taken in collecting them. He breathed out sharply, denying it. At least some had to contain pokemon. The camp was too well set up to have no value in its contents. Hopefully those he'd found had also been freshly caught too, spoils of Magma's work in the area.

It could very well be then that one of them contained the sought after Milotic. Still, the absence of the Magams bothered him. If they weren't back yet surely the would be soon...

At that moment a cry rent the air, followed by a great deal more echoing across the lake to the thief's hiding spot. It seemed his treachery had been at last uncovered. The noise startled several nesting pokemon from their homes, and a few ripples broke the water's otherwise glassy sheen. Something bobbed to the surface of the water (a log disturbed by something woken in the deep?), and he tried to see if it might be the Milotic itself. His heart felt ready to burst from his chest from excitement, he really should move from the area; the Magmas wouldn't take long to come hunting for him!

In fact he could hear them coming now! Without a moment to lose he slid from the bank and into the water. It was freezing cold! Ugh! But better than being shot! He took a gulping breath and ducked under the surface, swimming down, down. Just a few feet of water was enough to stop a bullet, and he didn't know how deep it was, or what all was living down there...he could barely see through the silt he'd kicked up...

He held his breath as long as he could before breaking the surface. No one was in sight, but there were clear fresh tracks on the muddy banks nearby. He took a deep but silent breath and sagged a bit as he stood up. This wasn't at all how he'd imagined the mission would go. The sounds of activity were clear in the distance. He'd have to cut his losses and get out now, without the Milotic...

"...zzz...zzthzz...rrzzzrrz...mmsrzro...Repeat, this is Grunt Codename Repo. Mission number 384628-7 suffered unavoidable complications from outside forces: Team Magma. Milotic was not spotted in the area, but a large number of pokeballs were retrieved from the resident Magma compound. Situation appears to be stable, though the security and location of the Milotic is unconfirmed. Returning to base to make deposit of acquisition before returning to field to scout nearby rivers for sign of the Milotic."

A few hours later the thief returned to the scene of the crime. Or what was left of it. The Magma camp appeared to have been swiftly disassembled, no doubt thanks to the compromised security. As he slipped closer to the lake through the now familiar brush, he felt something catch on his leg...a twig from some brush was tugging at...what was that lump in his pocket? He'd forgotten the extra pokeball he'd stashed there! He glanced swiftly around before pulling it out of his pocket and hefting it. Was there something inside...?

His thoughts were broken as the radio on his hip crackled to life. "Reports...zzz...missing pokemon...zzzzzzz...escaped form the lab...zzz...all units, move into the area around Elemi Lake..." THIS was Elemi Lake! He was already there, he could help...

The pokeball in his hand gave the slightest twitch. A cold chill went down the man's spine as he stared at it. With only a slight hesitation, he tossed it to the ground at his feet. There was a flash of light, a faint mewling...huge blue eyes stared across into his with intelligent curiosity...

...Mew...!

So that'd been why the Magmas were in the area! They must have spotted it, and formed a hunting party to catch it! And they HAD caught it...but then not left? Hmm. Perhaps they decided to work out of the area, thinking there'd been a reason Mew'd gone there? Regardless, he felt a slight tingle of nervousness having the mew out of its pokeball. True it'd been captured fair and square (or perhaps not, one never knew with the assorted Teams) but if it was in its ball then there was no way it could run away.

"Mew...return!" He held up the ball to receive the mew, which offered no resistance to returning to its capsule-home. Repo smiled for the second time in a day, an all time new record. Those words...they had felt AMAZING to say.

((Probably gonna edit the crap out of this later, I'll post in bold red up top when/if that time comes!))

Applicant Name: Lilith Thornton
Status within Rocket Organization: Grunt

Eye color: Glassy green
Favorite kind of footwear: Knee-high boots, or occasionally slip-on open toe sandals.
Name of favorite childhood pet: Solitaire, a Clefairy owned by her mother.

Essay portion: Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability.

Question 1: Lilith looked at the delicious looking cake with utter contempt. Complete with blue butter-cream frosting and the words “Happy Birthday Seth” sprawled on it in icing, it looked… appetizing. The woman pursed her lips. ”Who would want to wish him a happy birthday? I bet the guy doesn’t even like cake.” Lilith chanced a look around the break room. It was vacant except for her. Empty. The woman’s eyebrows raised. She quickly walked over to the room entrance and looked in the hallway. Not a soul in sight. Lilith’s mouth formed into a malicious grin.

She wandered back into the room inconspicuously and turned her focus to the untouched cake. She slipped off her right glove and wrote in large capital letters “NOT” in front of the word “Happy.” Licking the icing off of her fingers, she proceeded to take a large chunk of cake from the very middle of the cake. She placed it on a plate and began eating somewhat quickly, lest anyone caught her in the act. She mumbled to herself, ”How old is that guy, anyway?...”

Question 2: ”Damn it… Why do I have to go on this ridiculous mission? It’s not like I’m a higher rank agent or anything…” Lilith grumbled as she walked through the forest towards the location of interest of her mission. Apparently a rare Milotic resided in a nearby lake and it was wanted by the Boss. It was beyond the woman why the Boss would choose her, a Grunt, for this obviously important expedition. A test, most likely, to see how proficient she was at being a Rocket. She might even get a promotion! That chance was too good to pass up. She would have to get higher in rank relatively quickly if she wanted a chance to fulfill her personal mission. That alone drove Lilith to do whatever it took, including capturing an innocent Pokemon for Team Rocket’s use.

Lilith wandered through the forest in no particular direction, trying to catch a glimpse of the Milotic when something else caught her eye. In a small clearing a short ways away from Lilith’s position was a large campsite. Slightly curious, she started in that direction, staying behind the trees so as to avoid being seen. As she drew closer, she could make out odd symbols on the red and black tents and on most of the equipment there. It was in that shape of an “M.” In a flash, Lilith recognized the symbol as the insignia of Team Magma. ”Oh shh… Crap…” Lilith bit her lower lip and looked around anxiously for any signs of life, but the camp was fortunately deserted. The young woman breathed a sigh of relief and stepped out into the clearing.

She began to investigate the abandoned campsite while trying to avoid stepping on any of the equipment that was lying around. In her mind, Lilith reasoned that Team Magma was most likely here for the same reason that she was: the Milotic. Which meant that she needed to find it first. She began to scour the surrounding areas, always keeping one eye on the entrances to the campsite. Eventually, she found herself near a quiet, crystal clear lake. It seemed placid and empty, so she disregarded it until she found herself being startled by a sudden noise. She jumped back, afraid that one of the Magmas found her, when she realized that it was only her walkie-talkie. Heart still pounding, she grudgingly reached for the device at her belt and listened to the report. “…chhhh.. … all units, be on the lookout for an escaped specimen around Elemi Lake… It is highly dangerous, so be on your guard. That is all. …chhh…” Lilith frowned. ”That’s it? Like I care. Besides, I’m nowhere near Elemi Lake…” She stopped and turned around. She stood facing the placid lake in front of her. Her eyes widened and she quickly took out her GPS to triangulate her position. It displayed her as a dot right by Elemi Lake.

”Great. Just great. Now I have two things to look for.” Lilith was tempted to throw her GPS into the lake in her rage when she heard a different, quieter noise behind her. The woman’s eyes lowered and she slowly reached for Serafina’s Pokeball at her belt. She took a deep breath and turned around quickly to face the noise.

Her eyes widened. Her breath began to quicken. Her heart began pounding.

Before her, floating almost face level to her, was a Mew.

Lilith’s knees buckled beneath her and she fell to the ground, hands clutching at the earth and eyes staring up at the Legendary Pokemon before her. Memories of her childhood flooded back to her mind; those days long past in her hometown with her family, travelling to the Tin Tower to pray to the Legendary Pokemon for guidance and strength. Now one of the most revered of Pokemon, Mew, was staring straight at her. Lilith grimaced and bent over in an awkward bow. ”I’m so sorry! Please forgive me, o great one!”

The Mew looked at the human curiously. It had seen some different humans over the years from all over the world and from the Rocket headquarters, but this one was the most… weird. Why was she bowing down? It didn’t make sense! The Mew floated down to the human and examined her from all angles. She didn’t seem very old. In fact, she was kind of pretty! The Mew smiled, sat on the human’s head, and began fiddling with her long, brown hair.

Lilith gulped somewhat loudly, slightly confused. She kept her eyes locked downward to avoid contact with the Mew’s eyes, but her focus was averted as she was startled by a weight on her head. She felt her hair being played with and chanced a look upward. In front of her nose was a bright pink tail. The Mew, the Pokemon that was so highly revered for it’s immense and raw power, was on her head, playing with her hair. Lilith pursed her lips in slight annoyance and winced when the Mew tugged roughly on her hair. ”Um, Mew? If you would, could you please get off of my head?” The Mew complied and floated over to face Lilith. She sat up on her heels and looked at the wild Pokemon. It looked back at her.

Lilith laughed a bit. ”I bet you’re what all of the fuss is about, huh?” The Mew smiled and nodded triumphantly. The woman couldn’t help but laugh some more. So it was a Mew that was what escaped from the HQ… Lilith’s eyes widened in shock. If the Mew had escaped, then was it being… experimented on?! Was it a test Pokemon?! The woman growled and rubbed her temples angrily. Of course. That made so much sense that it physically hurt her. She began clawing at the ground in the manner that a Meowth or a Glameow would. After a minute of turning up dirt, she glanced up sympathetically to the Mew. The Mew looked back at her with a somewhat sad expression. It was then that Lilith made up her mind. She smiled comfortingly at the Mew.

”Don’t you worry, great one. Even if it is an order, I will not allow them to have you back in their clutches. If you will allow me…” Lilith reached around to her belt and held out an empty Pokeball to the Mew. ”I will act as your guardian. No one will be able to hurt you. I shall keep you safe.” Lilith locked eyes with the Mew and smiled. The Mew stared at the Pokeball for a few seconds, then looked deep into Lilith’s eyes. It smiled. “Mew!” It reached out a tiny pink paw and lightly pressed the button on the Pokeball. It opened automatically and enveloped the Mew in a beam of light, pulling it into the capsule. Once it closed, it wiggled around in Lilith’s hand for a second or two before becoming still and emitting a small “ping!” Lilith smiled kindly and held the Pokeball containing the Mew close to her heart. ”I swear that I shall keep you safe, great one.”

Lilith stood back up and, placing the Pokeball back on her belt, proceeded to walk back to the headquarters. Before she got too far, she suddenly remembered the Milotic she was supposed to find. The woman twisted her mouth into a frown and continued walking, reasoning that one of the other field agents would probably find it. Either that, or Team Magma would get it, in which case Lilith would claim that they overpowered her and stole it from her. That sounded like a viable argument to her. She smiled and comfortingly stroked the Pokeballs that hung at her side. No matter what happened to her, at least the Mew was safe…

Max stared at the cake, contemplating many things. Could he swipe a finger on it, and nobody'd be the wiser? But that wasn't such a great idea, was it? This was SETH'S birthday cake. Then again... It was Seth's birthday? He looked around, brushing his hair behind an ear. He could always cut a slice in it... But there was no way to get away with THAT one... He turned a chair around, sitting on it and crossing his arms over the back. The cake WAS tempting... Very tempting...

After staring some time, he stood up and get a piece of paper and a pen. When he left the room, a little sign sat in front of the cake.

[The cake is a lie!]

Question 2:
Quote:
You're out in the field, pursuing a Milotic that you've been told the big boss wants very badly.

He wasn't alone, and this was worrying. Even with the camp abandoned, Max wasn't sure he wanted to meet up with Team Magma. Then again... The camp was empty, and it likely had very sensitive electronics... He popped his single Pokeball open, letting Jayanti out. "You wanna have some fun, Jayanti...?"

The Pikachu let out a "Chu!", face contorting into a twisted grin.

"See all this here...? With the flame marks on it? Shock it all, see if anything goes boom, and then we book it out of here!"

The Pikachu's ears twitched, standing up, as did her tail. She looked at the Grunt, as if to question if he was REALLY letting her do this. Then she darted off to the center of camp, beginning to shock anything and everything she could.

From his hiding spot, Max laughed to himself. When things began to go boom, he motioned Jayanti back, picking her up and darting off. "That's a girl!" Surprised yells made him run, finding a place to hide behind a tree.

As he sat laughing to himself, Jayanti climbed onto his head, ears twitching. After a moment, she tugged his hair. "What?" Max turned, looking around the tree when the Pikachu pointed. "Oh s**t! We gotta get outta here!" The grunt grabbed the Pikachu, running off through the trees.

When he came out by the lake, he looked around for a hiding place. He'd no sooner contemplated this, when something rose out of the water.

Max had managed to go his whole life thus far without ever meeting or seeing a single Milotic, beyond what was in art books and the like. To say the least, the Pokemon was stunning. It let out an eerie call, turning around in the water a few times before diving back in. The Grunt stepped towards the water, eyes wide with wonder. He'd at least SEEN it, just... Not CAUGHT it... He looked about, soon spotting an old fishing pier poking out over the lake. A glance with his Pikachu, and he hurried towards it. Where better to catch it, than out on the water itself? He just didn't have a boat, so he'd make do.

Anybody'd find the creaking of the old pier unsettling enough to not bother. Anybody that had never had to live in an abandoned building, anyway. Max's foot placements were careful, arms out from his sides, Jayanti balancing on his head. Each step took him closer to the end of the pier, and each step took him possibly closer to the Milotic. The Magma grunts had caught up, but they weren't about to go out on a rotting pier. They didn't love their jobs THAT much...

"Die out there, Rocket ratticate!" Max calmly folded his hands into fists, leaving his middle fingers pointed out. A rock went flying by his head, but he ignored it. He had a mission, and he was GOING to accomplish it! Damn those that laughed at the Grunts!

The sound of the water lapping at the wood was rather soothing. Max reached down, touching a gloved finger to the surface. He stared for a bit, trying to formulate a plan. He'd only really gotten as far as 'get out over the water' back on the shore... Now what would he do? He couldn't just shock it... It'd fall in the water and be gone. That and he'd likely cause the whole lake to be shocked... Carefully sitting, he let out a huff. What was a Grunt to do?!

A loud cracking reached his ears. "The hell?!" Turning around, Max saw the Magma members beginning to collapse the pier. Blue eyes got wide with shock. He'd fall in! There was no time for action, as Max stood up. The pier began to wave back and forth, teetering dangerously. He looked back and forth, before he made his snap-decision. Recalling Jayanti to her ball and pocketing it, Max dove into the lake.

The water was still cold, the merging of spring and summer not having warmed it yet. Not that it bothered something like a Milo-- MILOTIC! Of all the moments Max was least prepared to find it... His head broke the surface as he gasped for air. The sound of a splash drew his attention to the former pier. Well, that was out now... And he was... Out in the lake. The very cold lake. Where he'd get hypothermia... He shook his head, teeth chattering, as he went swimming towards the shore. Something bumped his arm, but he shoved off of it, chalking it up to either remnants of the pier, or a log in the lake.

Until it lifted him out of the water. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" Max tried his best to cling to the slick skin, suddenly glad his gloves were rubbery. Looking around in panic, his eyes soon fell on what he was holding onto. The Milotic glanced back at him, before darting across the lake. It was all he could do to hold onto it!

All around the lake they darted, Max holding on tight. When it slowed down, he reached up, grabbing onto the antenna-like protrusions coming off its head. It didn't like that one bit, and went darting off again, beginning to try and shake him off. Max held on tight, though, gritting his teeth. He was NOT losing this Milotic! He was not-- The tree branch came out of nowhere, smacking him in the face. Despite the pain, he held on, wrapping his legs around the Pokemon's neck. Twisting and bucking, the Milotic worked hard to dislodge the Rocket, getting angry... But also getting tired. It finally crashed into the shore, trying a last, desperate move to dislodge Max.

"Ah-hah! Finally!" His face lit in a grin, Max plucked a ball of his belt. Its entire purpose was this, to be used to bring the Milotic in. Since he didn't know how to operate much else in the whole place, it made the most sense to him. About to use it on the Milotic, though, something moved... It caught his eye, making him look up. Small, pink... It looked feline in nature. Max looked back and forth between it and the Milotic. Could he get both...? He could use one of his own Pokeballs on the strange pink one... Or the Milotic...

The creature seemed to know he was contemplating, drifting over an taking the ball he HAD been about to use. It gave him a mischiveous look, then darted into the trees.

There was a bit of blinking, before Max made his snap decision. He yanked a ball from his belt, using it to catch the Milotic. He'd have to explain this later... For now, he had a ball to get back! "Hey! Get back here!" He scrambled up, running after the creature.

Cold, wet clothing wasn't kind to anybody, and Max was soon shivering and shuddering, wishing he had just left the Milotic. But he wanted that ball back! He kept going, pushing branches out of his way, cursing as he walked. "When I find that thing, I'm chokin' it with its own damn tail! Takin' my ball..." A pine cone fell on his head, and Max let out another string of foul words. "Fine, KEEP the ball! I don't care no more! s**t it's cold..." He hugged himself, turning to head back to base. As he set his foot down, it pinned SOMETHING, and he heard a surprised crying sound. Looking down, Max found himself staring at the pink thing, and it had dropped his ball as it tried to get its tail free.

"Hah, gotcha! Not that I was tryin' anymore... Little pest..." He reached down, keeping his foot in place, and grabbed the ball. "Whatever you are, the boss's gonna like YOU! I ain't never seen nothin' like you before..." Pressing the button, he made the ball expand, before touching it to the creature. One shake... Two shakes... Three shakes... It paused, shook again, and the red light went off. Picking the ball up, he tossed it in the air and caught it. "I ain't gettin paid enough chasin' this kinda s**t... Maybe you'll get me some kinda bonus.. Or Agent status!" He paused, then made a face. "Yeah, like that's gonna happen!" Tugging and looking at his wet clothes, Max sighed and headed back. He needed a shower after this, between the cold water, the leaves and grass stuck to him, and the mud. And his white hair was just FILTHY!

((Appolgies about Max's mouth, he got quite frustrated, between getting yanked around a lake, tossed in the mud, and having trees grab him))

Opportunity presented its self. How could he resist. He had simply been savaging leftovers; today’s were actually edible, when he spotted something incredibly evil on the table. “Happy Birthday Seth” It innocently announced to the world.
Spying this, his mind constructed a plan, it would take guts, it would take stealth, and it would take risking the worst punishments imaginable. It would be a moment of epic apportions, and team rocket would speak about it for months. He passed by it casually drinking his juice, as if he never saw it, but his mind was working.
First he went to his room for one to “eat” but also to gather and prepare supplies. He had a few firecrackers that would do the trick. He got to his room and set down his food and searched through his box in the top of his closet. There he found his tools, given to him by his father, he kept them on hand for cars, and other, less noble reasons. Out of it he pulled a power drill with a small bit and a long quick fuse. He then went to the next box which held his most prized and secret items, his explosives. Inside he had mostly fireworks, they were the easiest to get, a few sticks of soldering iron, and a bunch of birthday candles form… well that was another story.
A grin that could rival a gengar spread across his face. Very carefully he drilled a whole through the center of a candle… and it came out the side. Frowning he tossed it onto his bed and started on another. And another. After several tries he got it right and carefully wired through the wick. He then carefully pocketed the rest of the candles and a few fire crackers. The next step would be trickery.
He wandered back to the kitchen and to the table where the cake sat, still unguarded. He pulled out Shade, his most trusted pokemon, and sent him to guard the door invisibly. It was then that he went to work, sliding the cake to the edge of the table, and carving a hole the right side for the firecrackers in the bottom of the cake. A touch of fire accelerant was run along the wicks and then he pushed up the wick through the cake and then carefully twisted it together. Using the hallo candle, he covered the wick and cut of the end. He then stuck a handful more candles on the top. Carefully he slid the cake back into the center of the plate and then the table. Done. Now all that was left was to wait.

Name of favorite childhood pet: Koneko- The family Meowth that was hers more than anyone else’s.

Answer 1: I had just finished my book when I finally noticed it. There it was, a plain white cake with some blue icing saying 'Happy Birthday Seth'. Now Seth didn't even know me but I had looked up to him from the first moment I heard about him, in fact he's the reason I joined Team Rocket! But looking at that cake I had to frown from the plainness. Looking around to see if anyone would see I then went over and found a tube of blue icing and a tube of red icing. With my tools of choice I then went to the cake and plotted my next move.
I smiled brightly when an idea came to me and I started to draw on the cake little blue and red pokeballs. Under each pokeball, a total of six, I wrote the names of his most prized Pokémon captures. After finishing up I put the icing away then left the room, pleased with my offering to my idol.

Answer 2:
I walked along the route that led to Elemi Lake where my target, a Milotic, was spotted. It only took me a few minutes to reach the lake but since I didn’t spot the target right away I started to explore the area for the target or at least hints to where the rare pokémon would be. I carefully walked through the forest the surrounded the bank of the lake as I noted everything that might help me in my quest. I ended up stumbling onto a camp that from the looks of it, belonged to some scientists. As they were nowhere to be found I slipped into the camp and found one of the journals to find out if there was anything of interest to bring back to HQ.

Log 22798-
My team and I have found that the rare pokémon spotted, was again briefly glanced at the north side of the lake and we were quick to move camp as close as we dared. Soon we shall find out if it is the mythical pokémon we suspect it is.
Professor Onyx

‘Interesting…’ I thought as I raised an eye brow. I quickly took pictures of anything of equal interest then proceeding to pocket any pokeballs I found. With glance I figured I had everything I would need from the camp and I hastily moved back into the forest to continue my mission. For the next half an hour I muffled any sound I made as I grid searched the forest and lake area. Finally my search was a success and I came across the target sleeping in a small cave. I pulled out a pokeball and tossed it at the Milotic, said pokémon was sucked into the sphere as I pulled out a net gun just in case the pokeball was not enough. I breathed a sigh of relief when it succeeded and I stood up to collect the ball. Just when I was a foot away from the ball when something pink flew into the cave and out of reflex I shot the net gun at the now mewing pokémon.

“Well hello there, your quite a cutie.” I said, mission persona slipping into my regular one as I knelt down next to the pokémon. I picked the small pokémon up out of the net and cuddled it. “How would you like to come back with me cutie? I would pamper you with anything you want and need.” I cooed at the catlike pokémon watched me with cheerful eyes. When the pokémon tilted it’s head in thought I hugged it again, unable to contain myself. “Mew, meme mew.” The pokémon, now revealed as a Mew, nodded happily after a moment and touched one of my own empty pokeballs, quickly sucked in. I stood up with a grin, before slipping my mission persona back on then started the long trek back to HQ. “Mission accomplished.”

Quarria stared at the cake, so intently that she could have possibly lit it on fire with pure concentration. She propped her head up on one hand, sitting at a table a bit of a way from the cake. Had anyone come in to investigate, they would have simply thought she really, really wanted that cake. In actuality, the dark-haired girl was thinking thoughts much more complex then that. After all, this was SETH'S cake. And Seth was scary. And had a Tyranitar. There was absolutely no chance of her taking a bite of cake if it meant being on the angry end of a few-hundred-pound rock monster.

Her amber eyes took a final glance at the cake, then rapidly scanned over the room. The security cameras stationed in the ceiling corners lazily slid over her, the only things watching. What Quarria had been debating was if this was a mental test or something of that nature, to view the resolve of any of their new employees. Perhaps it was to single out the future trouble-makers, or maybe to view who had the strongest will as a Grunt? Quarria shook her head, dislodging both the questions and her black hair from behind her ear.

Tucking it back with a disgruntled face, she debated aloud for a moment. "Would they really go through so much effort to see who was loyal or something? Well, yes, yes they would. Such an ingenous idea. No one would suspect cake to be the test. No one but I." She stood and walked to the door, opened it and cast one last look back the possible test-tra-thing to say, "I'm on to you. You can't hide your complex tricks from me." She left, getting some confused looks from other grunts entering the break room, for she looked at this point like the paranoid, double-reversed-pyschology processor she was. Quarria grinned smugly, earning more strange looks as she walked. She'd passed their insane, mind game, she just knew it.

Unless... perhaps it really had been just a cake?

(Question 2: You're out in the field, pursuing a Milotic that you've been told the big boss wants very badly.
The suspense is killing me!)

A rough, dark boot caught on tree's trunk, stopping it's owner from a feet-first plunge into the murky water of the lake below. The boot's owner, a teenage girl with black hair and a Rocket Grunt uniform on (The version that had pants instead of a skirt), huffed a sigh of relief. Scouting out and setting up a good place for possibly days of surveillance in wet clothes would not have made a good start for her impressions with the higher agents, not to mention it making the entire job unconfortable. The slope she'd been trying to scuttle down had suddenly given out, lurging the girl forward and, unforunately, periously near the bank of the huge lake in front of her. If her boot hadn't caught the tree, she'd be soaked through right then.

"Come on Quarria, this is the best chance you've got right now, don't mess it up." The Rocket girl muttered to herself, pulling the laces on her black boots harder and knotting them into a satisfactory bow. Quarria did a mental check-over, counting her posessions and equipment, then looked around to see if she could find anywhere suitable to be a surveillance base until further notice. She scowled as none found their way into her line of sight, then realized the perfect one was right next to her. She looked up into the tree's lush, thick tangle of foilage and caught herself smiling.

She quickly squirreled her way up the tree with minimal injuries, skidding every once in a while and wishing she had her old boots from Lavaridge Town on. Once she was suitably high enough to see a wide radius around her, she sat in a forked branch and started unpacking assorted objects into the surrounding branches and securing them tightly where they could view the world without being seen themselves. She was in the process of tying a pair of nightvision goggles onto a higher limb to her when she spotted something among the trees that most certainly shouldn't be there. It was a little camp of red tents, with an emblem she knew to be Team Magma. She scowled again and thought aloud, "What are they doing here in Kodo and, more importantly, right here at the Elemi Lake? Perhaps they've caught scent of the Milotic too? No, no they wouldn't have such a large set-up just one creature..." She mused alond and in her mind, as she usually did, complicating things much more then they really were. She shook her head and, tugging one last piece of equipment securely into place and out of sight, climbed back down the tree's thick trunk to go inspect the rival camp.

Slipping through the trees, and occationally on some rocks, Quarria worked her way around the Lake toward the Magmas' camp. She weaved around the thick trees and out of sight of the camp, watching it for signs of life. Suddenly she heard the camp, that had been for the most part sounding like a normal camp, start the sounds of people migrating. Quarria, almost in a panic, dove up a nearby tree and hid in it's core, trying to breath silently. The Magmas were flooding out of their tents, all looking equally flustered and rushed as they stormed about. They congealed around in one direction until an apparent agent, or someone of slightly higher rank-whatever they call them in Magma, told them they could go. The crowd surged forward and took off in the direction Quarria had taken to arrive at the camp. For a moment she panicked, thinking they must have seen her eariler and were going to plunder her equipment or something, but then she heard the snatches of conversation from the excited crew.

"Who'da thought those Rocket's lost a pokemon out here? Especially one so..."
"Hah! It was too easy for us to intercept and slow down their radio signals..."
"Heh, maybe we'll get to the spot our agent saw the little creature before those Rockets..."

Quarria listened to all of these people as they passed, secretly both fuming and terrified. She was angry that the Magmas had apparently intercepted a radio signal meant for her Team, which explained why her communicator hadn't buzzed out anything recently, and fearing that one of them might look up and notice the Rocket sitting in the very tree they were passing.

The rabble all passed relatively quickly, including any stragglers and the leaders who'd stayed behind to usher the rest onward then follow themselves. With her second puff of relief that day, she inched back down the tree and dove into the Camp. She opened a flap of a tent for the nearest, inspecting the insides of each one likewise before hastily moving on. At the second tent she smiled as she rooted through a bag at the foot of a bedroll. Inside she found a somewhat adiquate sized Team Magma grunt uniform. Quarria, about to step into the tent, grinned even wider as she noticed the boots on the floor, that looked excitingly like Coalwalker's Strong-Grip Mountain Boots from Lavaridge Town.

Unzipping the tent, Quarria stepped out moments later outfitted as a Team Magma grunt, as she'd just thrown the uniform on over her Team Rocket one, complete with her new, favorite pair of boots and the red legwarmers she'd pulled on over them. The only exception to her looking like a clone of a Magma Grunt was her visable pants from her Team Rocket outfit, as she had been rolling up her sleeves at that moment. She pulled her hair into the two tradition pigtails of the Magma girls, as she'd seen on almost all of the mob before hand, and flopped the hood over her head to conceal her hat, in which she had stashed her Team Rocket gloves inside. Overall, she looked almost like a perfect example of a Magma Grunt, if only the clothes had been a slightly better fit.

For a moment Quarria stood, thinking to herself and getting used to the feel of the Magma's outfit. She felt a faint vibration from her communicator and swiftly pulled it out to listen to the newest transmition sent to the Rocket Grunts region-wide.

"Attention! Attention all Rockets! It seems that our last message was intercepted and blocked from most of our agents, so HQ will repeat it's announcement again! There is a Escaped Clone pokemon in the area of Elemia Lake! It is a Clone of the Legendary Mew! I repeat, there is a Clone of Mew loose in the Elemia Lake! All agents in the nearby areas around Elemia Lake are encouraged to capture the escapee Mew Clone and report back to HQ immediately for further instructions! That is all!"

Quarria's eyes widened throughout the message, and murmured quietly, "So that's what the Magma's were scurrying about..." Her voice trailed off as the impact of what was going on hit her. She paused, her hand flying to her mouth. "Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh." She repeated, panicking a bit and looking about. She was in the exact right place to retrieve the Clone Mew! She shook her head to calm herself, then continued her search through the Magma Camp. After about halfway through the tents, she heard the sound of someone bumbling through the undergrowth and entering the camp. She looked up, trying not to stare like a startled stantler, when a boy in the uniform of a Magma Grunt entered the camp's edges and spotted her.

They stared at each other for a moment, Quarria trying to look her best like she belonged, and the boy looking back at her and blinking. He walked over to a tent and shrugged at Quarria. "Do you need something?" He asked when he noticed she was still standing there, an eyebrow raised.

"Ahh. I was sent over from the main unit after the interception of those misrable Rocket's radio call. I'm here to help with the search for that rare the Rocket's lost. They told me that someone would tell me where to go from here." Quarria shrugged, quite convincingly, as she insulted her own Team.

"Well, I just came back to grab something I forgot in my tent." The grunt shrugged too, then motioned for her to follow. "Well if you're here for the Cloned Mew Search, I can just take you with me." He tucked whatever he'd come back for into a pocket, and started off. Quarria trailed after him, half-amazed that her attempt to be a Magma had even worked.

They followed a trail the Magma's had carved out with their trampling feet, and were about halfway around the Lake, nearing where she'd set up her tree observatory. They passed by her tree, and the Rocket girl looked up casually into the tree, checking her equipment over into her head as she found them in their secure hiding places. The boy looked at the broken slope where Quarria had fallen earlier, and shrugged, muttering something about excited grunts under his breath. They continued on, and Quarria inquired of her mostly-quiet guide, "So, how far is it?"

"Well, a group of grunts sighted it a bit farther in. That's where most of the others are now."

"Ehm, shouldn't we split up so if one of us sees it, we'll be able to have a better chance of capturing the Clone and taking it back for testing and research?" She suggested, her actual motive partially being that she wanted to return to her tree for a better vantage point, and that she wanted a chance on her own. The grunt nodded and they parted off the beaten path. She circled around, and silently made her way back to her surveillance point. It took her some time, trying not to leave and tracks in her new boots, and finally made it to her tree's bank.

After some scrabbling up the trunk (as the skirt was a real inconvience, but the boots made it much easier), Quarria managed to sit herself back in the forked trunk and began her scanning of the area. As she looked back into the forest, she heard the most peculiar noise, a mix of a churr and a faint whimper. It was coming from the place she'd tied the nightvision goggles, which was directly at her back.

Mouth dry, Quarria slowly turned around in her seat, her eyes drifting to the source of the noise. There it was, the little pink cloned creature. The Clone Mew. It was playing with her goggles, burrling in it's throat and making joyful noises. Quarria quietly sucked in her breath and gave out a soft, gentle noise, similar to the creature's. It's head flew up, it's huge blue eyes staring at her. "This is it. I messed up. Now it'll fly off and--" Her thought was cut off as the mew gave a slight tremble then floated over to her a bit and motioned at the goggles, a look of sorrow in it's huge emotion-showing eyes. Gently, it took her hand off the branch with both of it's tiny ones, and pulled it over to the goggles, which it tugged on. The knot was solid so Quarria's equipment wouldn't fall, and the little Clone Mew couldn't get the knot off.

Almost laughing at how adorable this little creature seemed to be, Quarria allowed her hand to be moved. She gently undid the knot on the goggles and was offering the Mew them when the Mew noticed her hood. With a curious look, it pulled back her hood and made a scared squeak as it saw her Team Rocket gear. "Ohh, don't worry little one." It dawned on Quarria as she spoke that the Mew probably remembered where it was born, and was terrified of the Rockets. Quarria, thinking quickly as the mew began to back away, said, "I'm...undercover! I'm undercover. I was sent by the Police Force to infultrate the Teams that are causing havoc around the region. But now, I can't complete my infultration because those Magma grunts probably already caught what I needed to be accepted into their ranks fully. I need to bring back something back to be accepted. But they can't take whatever I catch from me. And I can protect whatever I have."

The Clone Mew paused, staring at her with it's big eyes. It floated over to her head, and took it with both of it's miniature hands, one on each side. It's blue eyes stared into her amber ones, and it blinked, nodded, and let go. It finally seemed to give off a sigh of relief, like Quarria had done twice eariler. Quarria, expecting it to flee with it's new toy, was completely taken by surprise as the clone gently took her hand again, and placed it on a pokeball, then motioned at itself. It looked like a innocent newborn as it practically spoke the message it was trying to convey. Take me. Protect me.

Quarria gulped and nodded, once again allowing her hand to be pulled. She picked up the pokeball and held it up. The Clone Mew nudged its head into the pokeball and was enveloped by a cool, bright light. The pokeball tinged a few times, then clicked. Quarria, mouth open, stared at the pokeball. She gripped the pokeball tightly, and pressed the button again. The Clone Mew emerged and looked back at her, it's face reflecting fully it's innocent joy. She smiled back, and handed the Mew the goggles to hold while she took down all of her equipment and put it away. The Mew dutifully placed the goggles in with the equipment, and churled proudly. The Rocket grunt pulled off her disguise and stashed it within her equipment, just in case. Then Quarria scaled down the tree again, her new charge sitting on her head like a baby animal would.

As they started the long trek back to HeadQuarters, Quarria patted the Clone Mew, as it floated beside her to match her walking pace, saying with a little grin, "Eh, don't worry little one. I'll protect you from them. I'm yours now. And I'll protect you." To her words, the Clone simply gave a understanding, happy mew.

For the sake of storytelling I have decided to merge the 2 RP questions into one.

As Zach entered the break room, he immediately noticed the cake dedicated to Seth. Seth's birthday is today? Interesting. This cake looks surprisingly well made, I wonder who likes him enough to make him a cake like this. Well decorated too...

Zach glanced around and oddly enough, the break room was empty. Well, since nobody seems to be around to notice... I guess it wouldn't hurt to try just a *little* bit of cake. It does look pretty tasty after all. Zach grabbed the knife and lifted up one of the larger decorations. He took one of the decorations out, setting it aside temporarily. He then cut out a small piece of cake around the area that it had been stuck in, replacing the decoration once it was extricated.

There, now no one will be the wiser for it. Enjoying his rather tasty treat, courtesy of the birthday boy, he then procceded out of the break room. The camera moved to watch him as he left.

After awhile, Zach started to hear a rather ominous pounding of footsteps heading his way. He turned around to see a very irate Seth heading his way and yelling, "Zach! What is the meaning of this!" He seemed to be carrying the cake from earlier, minus a certain decoration.

Crap, how did he figure it out?

Zach said, "What's the problem, s-sir?"

Seth answered, "You know damn well what the problem is, Grunt Zachary! Do you often eat food that is clearly marked as a superior officer's?"

In reply, Zach answered, "No, not usually, although there was that one time..."

Seth's eyebrow twitched in irritation, "It sounds to me like you need to learn respect for your superiors. So I'm sending you on an away mission. Go to Lake Elemi and bring back a Milotic. More specific details are enclosed in this document. The boss really wants this one, so don't screw up. Failure will not go unpunished." he said, handing Zach an envelope and a Master Ball. "The Boss really wants this milotic so he decided to idiot proof the mission by allowing the use of a Master ball for it. If you can catch it without it then do so though, those aren't exactly easy to come by after all."

Zach replied with a small sigh, "Yes sir." Man, I'm going to have to remember not to get on his bad side anymore. I have to go way out to Lake Elemi over a dumb birthday cake? That's more than a little spiteful. With that, Zach turned and left to prepare for the mission. Best to get it done with as soon as possible after all.

At Lake Elemi, Zach took a look around. He started getting close to where the report last mentioned spotting the milotic. He suddenly stopped however, noticing a small group of team magma tents. Team Magma? What are they doing here? They could be here for the milotic, but that seems like more of a team aqua thing really. It doesn't look like anyone is here however, I wonder where they all went.

Suddenly, Zach's radio piped up. *Calling all Elemi Lake units, do you read me? There is an escaped mew clone on the loose up there. Do not let it escape. I repeat, there is an escaped mew clone up in Elemi Lake, capture of the mew is priority one."

An escaped mew? Now that sounded substantially better than milotic, I will definitely have to keep an eye out for that."

Having found that Team Magma was nowhere to be seen, Zach decided to investigate the camp some. It looks like they are out catching something, none of their Pokemon supplies are here, or pokeballs, but the rest is. One of them even brought a spare Magma uniform... wait a second... Maybe I can use this to my advantage.

Looking around quickly once more, Zach decided to quickly change into the Magma uniform. It would be alot easier to get around if he looked like one of them after all. Stowing his Rocket uniform in his pack, he then set off to look for his two targets. As he left, something darted into the forest ahead of him, causing a rustle in the trees. Zach looked up to where he heard it and just happened to catch the tip of a pink tail.

There! That's the mew I'm looking for! He immediately dashed into the woods in pursuit, eager to be the one to catch the mew. Zach started looking around, trying to spot where the Mew went. He couldn't see it. Damn. He turned around passively, and right in front of his face was the Mew.

"Whaaa...?!?" He jumped back a little. You don't seem like the others. "Huh? Did... did you just say that?" He looked curiously at the Mew. "What do you mean by that?"

You don't have the same vileness as the others, hypocrisy. Saying one thing and doing another. Needless violence. Destroying the world as you shout out your desire to save it, among other things. Not to say you are perfect of course... but certainly a step above the others.

"How are you even able to tell that?" Zach replied.

I may not be as powerful as the real thing, but I am still mew. As we are attracted to those with pure hearts, so are we repelled from those that are impure of heart. You contain a unique kind of purity, not pure good, not pure evil, but... something else. I wish to see what this is. Besides, no matter how I may try, I won't be able to escape. I would rather be with you than... the alternative.

The alternative? Does he mean Team Magma? I guess that makes sense, they aren't exactly the most likable bunch. Odd, I thought mews were supposed to be more... how was it? Childish? Optimistic?

While I am trying to avoid this Team Magma, that's not what I'm referring to. I mean those labs... I will not go back there. That is why I don't have these childish and optimistic traits you are referring to. You wouldn't either after... that.

"Y-You... can read my thoughts? That's worrisome."

Relax, I can only read the surface thoughts, basically the words you are saying consciously in your mind. Now then, enough delay. Will you catch me or not? We can't stand in the middle of this forest all day, someone is bound to find us.

Zach nodded, "You're right. Alright then." Zach whipped out a pokeball, tossing it at the Mew. It zipped into the pokeball, jiggling once... twice... thrice... bing! Caught! Zach felt a rush of elation.

A mew! Wow, I can't believe it.

"Sorry, I will have to keep you in your pokeball for now, we really can't afford the attention you are sure to bring." With that, Zach headed to the lake.

He tried to keep a low profile to avoid suspicion, without getting too close to any of the Magma grunts. It wouldn't do for them to see him up close and realize he wasn't one of them. After awhile, he spotted it. There was the milotic!

Unfortunately, he wasn't the 1st to spot it. Another magma grunt saw it as well and released a houndour to battle it. Zach saw him reach for his radio to alert others, and reacted quickly, releasing Yasu he yelled to the Magma grunt, "Hey! Over here!"

The grunt looked to Zach and said roughly, "Yeah? Whatcha want?"

"Yasu, use shadow ball to knock him unconscious. Then go deal with his houndour." Yasu nodded. He launched a ball of shadow energy at the unfortunate grunt, knocking him over with an "Agh!".

To no avail however, as his radio was already on. On the other end somebody said over the radio, "What's going on over there? Report!" Zach started to panic.

Crap, now all the Magma members here will swarm onto this location, I need to hurry up and catch it and hightail it out of here. Zach brought out the Master Ball, tossing it at the milotic. It jiggled once... twice... three times... bing! He snatched it up, running into the woods as fast as he could.

"Forget the houndour, Yasu! Let's go!" He radioed in to Team Rocket, "I have the Milotic and the Mew, be ready to get out of here immediately as soon as I reach the meeting point, Magma will be after me soon."

Question 1: You're in the THRQ break room and there's a birthday cake sitting unattended on the table. Looking at it more closely, you see "Happy Birthday Seth" written in icing across the top. No one is around. No one will see anything. What do you do?

Quote:
Do it, just do it. Nobody will catch you. Nobody will know, Liam thought as he stared at the cake. Here he was, alone, and the cake was sitting there. He had the tools and he had the plan, but... His gaze shifted from ceiling tile to ceiling tile, checking for the familiar glare of light reflecting off of hidden cameras in light fixtures, or in corners. For all he could tell, he was, as the phrase went, 'Out of sight' and, therefor, 'Out of mind.' He smiled.

His approach towards the cake was slow and deliberate. He shifted chairs almost a dozen times before sitting a table away from his target. In his hands he held a spatula and a knife, the tools of his... sabotage.

The cake seemed innocent enough, but that name! Seth this, Seth that. Liam had met Seth. He was surprised Seth allowed someone to make him a cake, nonetheless openly celebrate his birthday. He hated Seth. He would never tell him to his face, but he hated Seth. Seth had almost made him pee his standard uniform pants on several occasions and Liam was damned if he wasn't going to get his revenge.

'Happy Birthday Seth,' the letters were seemingly innocent enough. But Liam's brain was quick to work out a... more 'appropriate.' His small hands worked quickly, first cutting then transposing the individual letters on the cake while trying to keep as much of the frosting from getting ruined. He wanted to surprise Seth, not ruin his cake... much. Some of the letters he ate, enjoying the super-sweet frosting. First an A, then a pair of P's, an R, and finally a Y all settled happily in his stomach.

Finally satisfied with the placement of the letters, Liam leaned back to admire his handiwork. He had smoothed out some extra frosting to cover the holes left, and he had to admit it looked pretty good. The message was a simple one, but it was from the heart and he hoped Seth could appreciate it. “HAY SHITHEAD

Quote:
Empty, empty empty. All of the tents were empty. One of them even had a locked trunk Liam suspected of holding stolen Pokemon. And they flew the Team Magma flag. Here he was on the most important mission of his Team Rocket career and he had stumbled upon a goldmine. He knew how much Team Rocket hated Team Magma, those idea stealing jerks. Now would be the perfect time for a bit of... sabotage.

One of the tents had what looked like some sort of monitoring device, showing the shape of a Milotic swimming in the lake that the nearby river drained into. With this he could track it down easily! He couldn't figure out how to work it, and experience showed that touching random buttons led to massive system failure, so he picked up the pocket-sized remote screen and stuck it in his jacket's inner pocket. As for the other equipment, well... experience showed that touching random buttons led to massive system failure and that's exactly what he wanted. One of them appeared to be some kind of sonar. It broke easily enough, even letting out a small puff of smoke. The rest were no match for his destructive little hands and all quickly failed just like the first.

The second tent was just as simple... until he heard the sound of someone- probably not someone who liked the idea of him trashing their equipment- clearing their throat behind him. He froze. His hand hovered over yet another random monitor, showing charts and graphs and numbers that meant Arceus only knew what. Slowly, he turned to face his soon-to-be assailant and let out a huge sigh of relief.

“O-o-oh thank Arceus Officer! I'm so glad you showed up before... th-they did!"
The officer, slightly taken aback by this suspicious character's reaction to him eyed the young boy carefully.

“And who is 'they?'" he asked, arching an eyebrow.

“Th-they is- I mean are, Team Magma! Don't you see their flag?” Liam pointed towards the plag flapping in the gentle breeze, which clearly showed the Team Magma insignia. “I-I learned in school that Team Magma's bad s-s-so while they were away I tried to break their... stuff...”

The officer, sharp as a tack, had quickly taken notice of the large red R emblazoned on Liam's own chest as part of his Rocket uniform after Liam had turned to face him. That eyebrow seemed to arch even higher as he tapped his foot. Apparently he had learned about not only Team Magma but Team Rocket as well...

“O-oh this? I-I just found it in a ch-chest in another tent. I, uh... thought it would be... c-cool to dress like a Rocket?” He might not have sounded completely reliable, but he had one thing going for him: the looks of a twelve-year-old child, which was all he needed in most situations.

Apparently this was one of those situations. “Oh, well, kid, you had me worried there!” the officer said, patting him on the shoulder. “Here I thought they got you young. Well, look, this is a dangerous place for a kid to place dress-up, so why don't you let me call in for back-up and run on home to your parents. You live around here?”

“Y-yes sir!” Liam responded, giving a half salute, something he thought the officer might see as 'cute.' “Know these woods like the back of my ha-”

“What the hell are you two doing here!?” came a third voice. Trouble, of course, just when Liam was about to get away. The stranger standing in the tent's entrance was dressed in full Team Magma uniform and Liam couldn't tell who he was surprised to see more: A cop or a Rocket. Either way, he had just stepped into the wrong tent. Quick as an Ekans, the officer jumped forward and seized the Magma member, tightening the handcuffs before Liam even knew he had taken them out.

“Hey kid, you better get out of here before this guy's friends show up, else we both might be in a bit of trouble. And when you get home, make sure not to wear that Rocket uniform any more, you hear? Could get you in trouble.” He grunted as the Magma tried to push him aside, but held his ground. He tapped at something on his belt, which released a Growlithe that immediately began growling at the Mamga who froze.

“Y-yes sir, of course sir! I h-hope you catch 'em all, sir!” Liam stated with his biggest smile before jumping out of the tent's front flap.

As he walked away from the campsite he heard the sound of more and more officers arriving, probably planning to wait in ambush for the rest of the Magmas. And he still had a Milotic to catch. He fished the small device from his pocket, noting how far out the Milotic was before setting out in that direction. Yeah, catching it would be a breeze. Two birds, one stone.

Applicant Name: Nicole "Nyx" Wattson
Status within Rocket Organization: Grunt Scientist, Bio-Engineering Department.
Eye color: Black
Favorite kind of footwear: Rubber Boots
Name of favorite childhood pet: Cheese, the Pikachu.

Essay portion: Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability.
Question 1:

Why was the party room empty? Today was the party. There was the cake. So where were all the people? Nyx looked at her watch. The face stared back at her with the hands placed at 8:45. Wow. She hadn't even slept, or realized that the sun had set and come back up again. But that would explain why Newton, her Drifloon, was being carried asleep in her arms.
"Why did they leave the cake out? Must have been frozen and thawing out now. No point waisting this quiet time." Nyx didn't seem to be very interested in the cake. She took a seat, set Newton on the floor next to her chair, and leaned her head back. Time for a nice nap.
Newton was jarred awake by being put on the ground. He puffed out in protest, but his fluffy-headed owner was already fast asleep. Newton floated up into the air to observe his surroundings before he quickly noticed the cake. Delicious chocolate sweet cake. Where had it been all his life? He floated slowly over to it, savoring the moment. To the casual observer it would appear that the Drifloon was flirting with the cake. And he was. If humans could speak pokemon, they would have blushed.
"Flooooooon~" He lifted a heart shaped tassel daintily and reached out to scoop some icing off of his love-cake. He stuck his icing covered tassel into the center of his X.
Nyx's eyelids fluttered open. It was common knowledge that females were easily stirred by higher pitched noises, an evolutionary trait developed to better care for their offspring. Newton had a very high pitched voice. She didn't notice her balloon partner flirting with the cake, until he stuck his tassel into his mouth.
"NEWTON! What are you doing?! Get away from that!" She leaped from her chair, intending to grab him before he could do further damage to the cake. Newton was quicker, though, and as soon as his owner called out to him, he dove into the cake.
"What... have you... done?" Nyx slowed to a slow crawl as she got nearer to the cake. She was dead. They were going to kill her. None of the writing wa left on the cake except for 'SETH'. She was deader than dead. Unless... She grabbed Newton's pokeball from her belt and quickly called him back, not something she often did. Nothing to do now but flee. Hopefully no one would see her retreat and someone else would be blamed for this disaster.

Question 2:
Milotic were attracted to aggression. This was a simple concept most people forgot. As soon as she found evidence of the Milotic, or even a school of Febas, she could set up the heavy contraption she was carrying on her back. This thing, if the mechanical engieering department had actually paid attention while they made it instead of goofing off, like they tended to do, would first release a pharamone that would attract a hoard of pokemon. Once a big enough group was gathered, Nyx would press a button, and the contraption would release an aggression inducing gas into the air.
It was a brilliant plan. She'd done testing, both checmials worked. She just needed to get a sample from the water and then find a good spot to set up. Nyx pushed her way through a bush and saw the camp. Immediately her face shifted to one of indignance. What were these rejects doing here? Intel dropped the ball. No one knew anything about Magma being here. She grabbed her radio and pressed the talk button.
"Hey. Magma is here. This is Nyx. So yeah, thanks for that info." She put the radio back in its holster. There. Now she was more useful than the whole intellegence department of Team Rocket, only thing left to do was to get rid of these guys. Well, they werent' here right now, but Nyx was sure they'd be back. Time for snooping.
Nyx snuck around the camp. They had some equipment with the readings she needed already done. There was a Milotic somewhere in this lake. They hadn't captured it yet. They had captured a few feebas and magikarp. Some ratticate, pidgeotto, and other pokemon commonly found around lakes and forests. Nothing to write home to the Boss about, but good for restocking the experiment tanks. She took some time to make sure the pokemon could escape. Well, all but the fish pokemon. Last thing to do, most important thing to do, was to set this contraption up someplace in the camp, without them noticing it. Luckily, there was a nice clump of bushes very near the center.
The trap was set. Nyx hid herself a safe distance away, put on a gas mask, and waited. It was late evening before most all of the campers were back in their camp. She grinned. This would make catching Milotic even easier. She pressed the button for the contraption to release the first stage. She waited. It was half an hour before she saw groups and groups of common pokemon swarm into the camp. She pressed the second button. It didn't take nearly as long for all the pokemon in the camp to start wreaking havok. She clapped and giggled gleefully. The experiment was a complete success, she calmed down and turned from the show and watched the lake. That amount of agression should attract the Milotic.
Nyx waited a good hour. Most of the pokemon had been captured or delt with, some of the people had started fights, which was interesting, since Nyx hadn't tested the compound out on humans (They wouldn't give her any subjects to test on). Just when Nyx was about to declare failure, the surface of the water broke. A long slender snake-like figure rose out of the water and watched the camp. There it was. The Milotic! Nyx was ready. She opened the duffel bag full of pokeballs and started throwing.
Redlight, whitelight, redlight, whitelight, redlight, ping. Over half of the bag was empty. But she'd done it. She'd caught the Milotic. Luckily the Team Magma losers were busy with collateral damage clean up, so they hadn't noticed. Nyx grabbed up the ultraball and fled into the bushes.
Her radio had been off after she sent the transmission about Team Magma. She never heard about Mew.
