Aerinna Umm, it'll look a little bit ghetto sweatdrop , but why not make yourself a new lolita dress out of coloured vinyl material? Vinyl is SUPER easy to clean. Good luck with your endevours! heart Wow. The ghetto part was pretty shallow to say. (other than that, I don't believe a ton of vinyl is too lolita.)

I was gonna go and make this big long post, but first I decided to read the other posts, and then I realized, they've said everything that I could possibly say...
So anyway, make your dresses out of what you want to. No one's going to kill you for using a different, easier to clean fabric with cheaper lace on it. And if someone does it's building up bad karma for him (or her).

(other than that, I don't believe a ton of vinyl is too lolita.) it really depends on your style of lolita..if your more on the gothic lolita theres a subgroup i like to call "fettish" loli, wearing cyber style costumes out of pcv and reflectant tubing...saying "a ton of viynl isn't lolita" or "too lolita" is rather rude to say...there are SO many sub catagorys of lolita, i think your thinking only oe one or two of them...broaden your hoizons... as for my own personal veiwing on viynl, it might start to smell from sweat if not cleaned properly...so becareful of that...i really would stick to fabrics you can just throw in the washer, or just natural fabrics that breath...nicer ones for formal occasions, even keep that velvet skirt! (just find a cheep drycleaner...(one around the corner 1.65 an item, hells yes!

I have some light cream colored satin which will only be used to make two items. A headress and tie, which will be trimmed with white and pearls, and titled "Wedding Lolita". They won't be for myself, just something I'm playing around with. I'll either give them to a friend, or sell them. ^__^ It'd be cool to find a couple marrying with a gosurori theme...

My advice is to go for lots of cotton. Because it's easier to wash if it gets dirtied, easier to dye if it starts to fade (you know how black clothes start going green or blue or brownish after a while sad ) The only problem is you will have to iron it to make it look good... although there are some stretch blends with a bit a lycra/spandex that might make life a bit easier...

Many lolita dresses are cotton blends. They can be washed fairly easily. All lolita clothes can be dry cleaned. Buy some dryell for convenient at home dry cleaning. No lolita should be without dryell, in my opinion.
I am legally blind (Almost completely blind) and I have a habit of falling and running into things myself. Snagging my dresses on things I didn't see, etc. You should keep a sewing kit in your purse, in case of emergencies. 3nodding
And don't worry about the elitist american lolita. They try so hard to ruin the fun and innocence of lolita fashion with their harsh words and strict rules. I've no respect for elitists. Lolita fashion should make you happy. Because that's what's really important.

I would also say as soon as you find some kind of stain, or spot on white fabrics, dresses, etc. try and wash them as soon as possible. Instead of tights maybe try for socks, I know that some stores sell black and white striped knee high socks. I'm very rough on my clothing because I'm an active, athletic girl so I know ripping, snaging, and othewise tearing your clothes or stockings is rather easy, but not hard to fix.
Other than that, do choose what you want and cotton as a rule is very easy to wash. If worse comes to worst just bleach or dye the clothes.
Don't worry about the eletists, they have no idea what you go through and therefore don't have any place to say anything about how your clothes look. You made the sacrafices and I think it's only fair that you can be happy with the end product of your hard work. Best of luck in all things you do.

I like cute. Also, I don't think the quality of materials you use for your outfit matter nearly as much as what's underneath them. From what I have read about you so far I don't think it would be a problem at all. ^_^

Hmmm... My biggest piece of advice is to just try to wear dark colors, so the dirty wouldn't show so much. I would normally guess that after every fabricc gets dust on it, it wold wash out easily (unless there was something capable of dying fabric that accidentally got on it...), but then again, I don't have much experience sweatdrop
And as for finding clothes for your body type, I'd say you should try to avoid very low-cut things, and find a lot of frilly and poofy dresses, which never fail to make people look adorable, no matter what your body type may be.

Hmm well I wouldn't worry about getting it dusty or anything, or even ripping it! (since many people splatter blood' or rip clothes jsut to make it look better xd ) But getting with dirt or ...maybe staining it might ruin it, but use bleach? Or yes...wear darker clothing. My friend always rips her stockings very easily, but I think it's ... nice XD.
