Nattou... Urm. I wanted to (try some) while I was in Japan, but I think my host-family tried to distract me with the yogurt section in the supermarket after asking if I wanted any... and thereafter I forgot about it.

But I have heard unpleasant things such as ..

1) It smells like gym socks.
2) Tastes like bad coffee
3) Has a stew-like consistency, and is strangely hairy.

So has anyone actually tried it and does it really look/taste as bad as it sounds?

pocky Blueberry Yogurt is the best best best flavour ever!!! rofl But mostly I'm just amused at how they seem to have so many flavours in Japan, whereas where I am right now it's mostly just Chocolate and Strawberry. How boring :

I know over here where I live I can only find chocolate. I wish They offered more flavors of pocky. I bet I'd like them if I could only try them

nattou... i would NEVER try it, but i love watching people eat it... swirling their chopsticks around like crazy! xd

pocky, of course, is the best. give me any mousse pocky and i'll be happy. 3nodding especially strawberry. reverse is pretty good too. *_*

nattou: There's a girl in my Japanese class who loves nattou. She brought some into class and showed it to people. It smelled awful and was covered in a white stringy... paste-thing. I wasn't brave enough to try it, but it looks awful. I strongly warn people against eating it, unless they like trying new and weird things.

Pocky: LOVE THIS STUFF. I'm a big fan of Men's pocky (though I'm a girl, shh don't tell the advertisers). I can't stand the plain chocolate, though strawberry is the best. heart

Our sensei has told us as an end of the year treat he's bringing natto. After reading all this I think I'll skip natto day. Aparently were having a contest to see who can eat the mosy without gagging. Sounds fitting. As for pocky, it's the epitami of awesomeness. I heart Pocky!
