With Telgar's less-than-optimal temperatures, it's a wonder that any firelizards' eggs survive. But this mother has been clever, and hidden her eggs under and overturned basket in the laundry room. The fire used to dry the clothes has provided these eggs with the warmth they need, as have the extra socks and bits of straw their mother has provided. Though they'd hidden from sight, it's only a matter of time before someone spots this bright trio...

(First come, first serve basis, please play nicely. If I see OOC fighting leaking into IC fighting then I will have the Headwoman arrive and confiscate the eggs. Any questions, please toss 'em up in the main thread! <3

SIDE NOTE: The green egg in this clutch is very small compared with its fellows. The rest of the eggs are actually quite averaged sized. XD)

Finelly actually liked doing laundry duty for what all it was worth and as she toted yet another heavy basket in to be dried by the fires she couldn't help but tsk against her teeth as she noticed the state of several baskets. This wouldn't do at all, it was beyond messy! She set her load down carefully and started over towards a basket in the corner, taking care not to fling it over her shoulder should it be hiding something underneath (a tunnelsnake would probably make her wet her pants).

But there wasn't a snake at all! Instead there were flitter eggs there, prettiest that the young woman had seen yet (and she hadn't seen very many, so. . . .). Glancing about to check for a mother she reached down and touched the shells, noticing how warm and probably close to hatching they were. Seeing as Mint was no where to be found (probbaly off sleeping somewhere) and no Golden flitter appeared to snap at her it was in the woman's best interest to take and possibly raise one of the fine creatures.

Her decision swayed between the bluish-purple egg and the striped one with a very vibrant shell, but finally she just smiled and sighed, lifting the rainbow-hued Tropical Bird egg into her hands. It was so pretty!

Jasrai sighed. One of the patients in the infirmary had been projectile vomiting all morning and suffering diarrhea. She felt sorry for him and his influenza, but she couldn't help thinking that she had not signed on to help with sick people. Sick dragons, surely, but not sick people. However, she had agreed to work under Faltar, and that meant working in the infirmary. Presently, it meant working in the laundry getting new sheets. Mr. Poopypants had gone through the infirmary's on-hand supply.

"Where can I find clean sheets?" she asked one of the candidates, who gestured vaguely and unhelpfully toward a corner.

Jasrai didn't see any clean sheets, but Flynx and Sati seemed interested in whatever was in the upturned basket and so she dutifully decided to look. Maybe the sheets were under the basket or something. She had doubts as to their cleanliness if that was the case, but that wasn't really her problem. Besides, the sheets were just going to get shat or vomited upon anyway. Did it really matter how clean they were to start out with?

There was a girl there, peering under the basket. So clearly there was something there. When Jasrai drew closer she saw a pair of eggs that were clearly firelizard eggs. Well. They weren't clean sheets. She looked at Flynx, who she considered the ruler of her fair. The question implicit in her glance was, "Well, should I?" It was not the firelizard, but her dragon who answered, however.

You should, Roseth said, peering at the eggs through Jasrai's thoughts. Take the blue egg. I like its color.

"Good find," she remarked to the girl who was cradling the brightest egg. "Were you planning to keep that one? Personally, I like the blue one."

The laundry was not a place Y'kar frequented, but it had a lot of water and so when the weather outside was bad it was one of Surf's favourite haunts. He had been happily splashing in a tub (taking care to keep out of the way of busy working hands) when the clutch was discovered.

Eggs!

He sent the image to the Big Green, she was always pleased with him when he told her about intereting things... Oh, now there was just one small egg, People were taking the others, one Person was Light Big Green's person...

Take it?

The message was clear, urgent, one he couldn't ignore. Could he carry it alone?... This was not an issue; a moment later almost all of his faire appeared in the steamy air, holding a blanket between them. As he hastened to take part of the load, the Queen of their faire swooped down and scooped up the little egg, crooning gently at it before depositing it in the blanket.

Now, back to the weyr? Yes, fly back, but not between, and be careful! Surft squeaked - he could handle that! - and set off in formation with his friends; egg!
