You're better then the best
I'm lucky just to
linger in your light
Cooler then the
flip side of my pillow, that's right
Completely
unaware
Nothing can compare to where you
send me,
Lets me
know that it's ok, yeah it's ok
And the moments where my good times start to
fade

You make me smile like the
sun
Fall out of bed,
sing like bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday
night
You make me
dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like
gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me
wild
Oh, you make me
smile

Even when you're
gone
Somehow you
come along
Just like a
flower poking the sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the
rain and just like that

You make me smile like the
sun
Fall out of bed,
sing like bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday
night
You make me
dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like
gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me
wild
Oh, you make me
smile

Don't know how I
lived without you
'Cuz
everytime that I get around you
I see the
best of me inside your eyes
You make me
smile
You make me
dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like
gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me
wild

You make me smile like the
sun
Fall out of bed,
sing like bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday
night
You make me
dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like
gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me
wild
Oh, you make me
smile

How would you dress if your father was the fashionista of the planet?

{X} dresses in a simple t-shirt, a black hoodie and dark jeans with converses...

...While his father, on the other hand, dresses like he's either Queen Elizabeth or he's a Hot Topic model. But strangely, he looks good either way.

The well-known Prince of Fashion -- for people call him that instead of his birth name -- just happens to be loved by everyone. Girls and boys and adults alike -- everyone who appreciates the styles of today. Except....the most important person in the world to him also happens to be the one person that is also not his fan.

His son.

{X} wanted a normal family. A father who had a job he dressed in a suit -- not ruffles -- in, a school that had their bullies and nerds, friends who talked to him for who he was and not who his father was, and, most of all....a mother.

But of course, he was no where near getting any of those.

Mother dying at the age of four, Jon's father had strangely closed up a bit in the years afterward. During those years, the child had learned to do all of the chores left by his mother -- cook, clean, do the laundry and even sow through trial and error. Somewhere in between those years, his father accepted the fact that his mother had died and when he was a bit older and he asked about it, his father would tell him bits and pieces of what had happened during the time he had closed up so drastically.

Prince of Fashion attempts to become closer with his son in every way possible, despite everything -- not once has he forgotten his birthday and not made it extravagant or missed a school play, even if he was stage crew. Multiple photo-albums were filled with the boy from birth and on to current time.

Even with all of the money in the world, he is still unable to get what he desires, however. How can he get his son close again, when it seems as if the male hates him?

After all, it's the complete opposite...

You see, {X} has fallen in love with his father.

R u l e s

+ Nothing over PG-13 on Gaia, even in PMs.
+ Literate roleplayer please. <33
+ If wanting the position of {X}, please PM me with the title My dreams are on the Runway.
+ Be creative with the background and the open space I've given you. And, of course, make him sexy. ;0 That is a must.
+ The son is an uke, but when making the child envision someone who is hiding their love -- is he cranky near his father in an attempt to send him the wrong message and not let anything slip, or is he just silent with one worded answers? You decide.
+ No one liners. At all. D:
+ Stay in character. His feelings for his father over time should not change, but remember that he's trying to not let his father know he loves him -- not trying to send the message that he hates him. Because he doesn't. xD
+ Have fun. <3

Name: Levi
Age: 16
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: I’m quick to anger and most of the time I’m quiet and conservative. My father is the only one that really sees my anger since at school I’m level headed. I’m kind to everyone, not in any way an angel. I’m mischievous and do love to play games.
Occupation: Student with a part time job at the book store.
Likes: Rainy days which includes thunder storms (though at night I get a little uneasy about the storm), books, music, computers, soccer, theater.
Dislikes: My father…(well not really, but don’t tell him that!), overly happy or excited people, the color pink, actors/actresses, the kids who talk to him just because of his father.
Talents: I can cook really well since I do all the cooking in my house, I have a natural talent with computers, I work the sound and lighting board for a production with ease.
Weaknesses: Needles, my best friend, my father (at times).
Bio: I was so young when mother died. I didn’t understand what was going on. My father was changing and he probably didn’t even notice it. I had to grow up fast in order to keep the house in order. My talent for cooking came with many burns, cuts, and terrible tasting food. I got better in the end seeing how I make all the meals. I feel like I’m a maid half the time when I’m home, but I don’t complain. The chores need to be done and I know my father wouldn’t get up to do them.
I remember during childhood that my father would always be with a camera. There has to be millions of photo albums just with me in them. I got into soccer, theater, and computers when I went to school to help get my mind off my mother and father. It was rather easy since I picked up on the activities. I’m not saying I’m perfect, far from it, I just enjoy what I have in my life.
My feelings for my father came to be over time, but I will never tell him! It will make things become awkward and I don’t want him getting a bigger head. He already has all those people who follow him since he is a fashionista. I just get through the day with the goal of getting to bed that night. I’m not miserable, just complicated.
My best friend knows basically everything about me, except for loving dad. I might tell her to get an opinion, but that would break my concentration. I want to hide and stay away from that. I can’t imagine what would happen if I told my father I loved him.

"Ow!"

Grabbing a tissue from the nearly-empty box across the table, he hissed in pain and pressed hard on the seeping hole. His co-worker sighed, patting the man's shoulder.

"What gives, Guilles? You're never like this, especially with work." his good friend said, leaning onto his worktable.

"Not now, Charlie. Don't you have your piece to be working on instead of talking to me?" he sighed, attempting to get back to work on the tulle he had been working with.

"I'm done."

"Ow!"

"Guilles, you're never like this. Ever. There has to be a reason, and I, being your good friend, should try to find out why you seem so down and spacey. The 'Prince of Fashion' never has a down day."

"Don't call me that at work." He hissed, sighing once more.

Quickly apologizing, he ran his fingers through his hair again.
“It's just that . . . well, the other day I picked up my son, Levi, from school yesterday . . . and he just . . . scolded me. He told me that I was an embarrassment. I . . . I don't know what to do anymore, Charlie.”

Slumping over onto his work table, he sighed. His good friend patted him on the head, assuring him that it would be alright. “I don't know what to tell you, Guilles. But I'm sure that it's just your son's rebellious stage, hormones . . . and what happened all those years ago might have a factor in it. Why don't you just go home early for today? Pick up your son again, talk to him this time around . . .”

“You and I both know I'm too scared to do that. It . . .hurts to talk about it. Even right now. So can we stop? I'll go home, pick him up . . . and, well, we'll see what happens from there.”

~~~~~~~~
Pulling up beside the curb in his sleek, black Mercedes-Benz, it immediately caught the attention of the nearby students. He looked over the top of his Gucci sunglasses, seeing the yellow buses . . . . and his son, looking right at him. Guilles smiled, waving at the teen who looked indifferent; rather, he looked away. The man couldn't say he was surprised with his son's actions, just . . . that he was hoping that it would be something else than that. His smile diminished for a quick second before it was back up again, attempting to brighten his mood.
Levi wasn’t even in his desk when the bell rang for the end of the day. He was just finishing up soccer practice. It was a private practice for him only and his best friend, Lora. They both had a free period and he needed to blow off some steam. He still couldn’t believe what his father did. He always told him what he did wrong. “Why doesn’t he just get the damn message!” He shouted kicking the soccer ball with all his force.
The ball swished right into the goal without much difficulty. There was no goalie, just Lora as a spectator. “You know Lavi you should just have a talk with him or something. Maybe that would get through to him instead of all the yelling.” Levi stuck his tongue out at her like a little kid. He didn’t like the nickname, but he only let her call him that. There were some other people that called him Lavi, but he couldn’t beat everyone up. Lavi is a character from Lora’s favorite manga/anime series, D. Gray Man. The name stuck since she said Levi was like Lavi in a couple ways. She never told him though.
“He still wouldn’t listen and you know that. He’ll just come up with an excuse or something.” He took another shot at the goal in the top right corner. “Besides I like yelling at the idiot. It’s much easier.” The teen took a final shot and was done. Lora sat there shaking her head as if she knew what was going to happen.
Levi went to the boy’s bathroom to splash water on his face and neck to get rid of the sweat. Once that was finished along with other small necessities, he joined back up with Lora. They were heading out of the school to walk home when the boy stopped in his tracks. The students around him were starring and whispering around him. Levi’s left hand turned into a fist that he stuffed in his pocket. He saw the man try to smile at him, he even was waving. ‘Doesn’t he understand how embarrassing this is?’ He just looked away trying to act normal in front of his classmates.
So much anger, but he couldn’t let it out here. “You want a lift Lora? I’m going to have him drop me off at the bookstore.” He offered with half of himself hoping she comes and the other wishing her away. Lora smiled and shook her head. “I have to get home and do all this work I got. Besides I gotta watch over my little brother. Play nice.” She said turning away to walk down the sidewalk.
Levi couldn’t believe her, but nothing could be done now. He walked up to the Mercedes-Benz. He didn’t say a word just got into the passenger seat and buckled up.
"H-Hey." Guiles said, his voice unsteady.
There was a long pause, Weezer playing lightly in the background. You'd think that the fashion lord would like mainstream pop and rap, but he often listened to soft rock or just pop rock in general. He didn't seem to like most of the music that had been playing around lately on the radio, but it wasn't as if he policed around about it. He gave his son space in creativity, but the way he tried in everything else was wrong . .
"How was school today?" he asked, no longer nervous and attempting to calm himself down.
It was his son. It was okay. Just talking wouldn't hurt him at all, right? He had talked to Lora before; she was a nice girl. But was he with his friends alright? Was he safe? Was he doing anything strange? He coiuldn't help but worry a bit too much. It was his one and only son.
"Look, I . . . I'm sorry if I don't understand all of the time . . " he spoke in a hushed tone, obviously quite hurt by their predicament, "I don't really know what to do all of the time, and I'm sorry if I . . . make mistakes a lot." he paused, looking at Levi at a red light.
"I just . . . wanted to apologize. Although I probably did it today again, but . ." he sighed, running a hand through his hair.
It was only with his son he could get so stressed. He was constantly worried, constantly wondering what his son would do next; what that child that is still so unpredictable would do.
"I don't really know what to do anymore." he murmured.
Guiles never let anything really interfere with his work; he would always find a way to channel his emotions into work, so that although his feelings were released and expressed, he still could, well, work. However, it was not the case when he was with Levi. He couldn't do anything when the boy crossed his mind, and perhaps it was the fact that he didn't really know what feeling came to him when he thought about his child. It was love, worry, anxiety; a mixture of nerve-wracking fear mixed with heartbreak. Even now, as he drove, his face was slightly pained and stressed. He had to vent, but he wouldn't dare do so to his son. Maybe some painting would help.
He slowed down at the bookstore. It was a cute shop, not too small but roomy. The designer liked this store as well, but he wouldn't tell that to his son; the boy would probably quit after hearing that.
"I'll come pick you up around seven, then?"
It didn’t surprise Levi that his father was nervous when he talked to him. He was always afraid of saying the wrong thing to piss the boy off, which usually is what happens. The music playing in the car helped to pass the awkward silence. It wasn’t that bad, then again Levi liked mostly any music. Except that screamo style, it just didn’t make any sense. He put his bag between his feet so that he wouldn’t fiddle with the straps.
“School was fine, the same as always.” He never really gave too much information about his day since nothing interesting ever happened. After a small pause he continued. “Lora and I played some soccer during our free period.” There one small thing about his day. That would probably make the old man happy. Then again Levi wanted to tell him everything that happened, but wouldn’t.
‘Here he goes again..’ The teen looked out the windshield as his father spoke. He was apologizing again for who he is. No matter how many times Levi told him what was wrong nothing would change. The boy always screamed it at him so it was no wonder nothing changed.He gripped his arm in frustration. His father was such an idiot when it came to their relationship. “You did do it again dad. You picked me up in this fancy car that everyone with gawk at. Not to mention the sunglasses.” He sighed. “I know it’s your style, but when you pick me up don’t wear them at least. They all stare and I get embarrassed.”
Levi shook his head, a hand placed on his forehead. No matter how many times he would tell his father this he would never get it. “I’m not totally pissed off about it, but..well tone it down at least when you pick me up.”
There that was a compromise, if it ever happens. He didn’t want to make his father cry, that would be too cruel. Besides it wasn’t something worth bitching about. This was about who is father is. Nothing in the world can change a person that much. Levi knew this and yet he fought it. He always wondered what it would be like if he..no he couldn’t ever open up to his father. He would just become worse. The teen wasn’t ever looking forward to that day. The way things were will stay that way till well forever.
He saw the bookshop and gave a sigh of relief. A good few hours with authors he adored and getting paid for it. It was definitely the best job he has ever gotten. The people of the shop were good as were the flexible hours.
“Around then yea. See ya.” He said as he got out of the car. His backpack was slung over his shoulder and gave a wave to his father. Not a big wave like he was excited, more like a salute. The teen walked in the door smiling to his fellow employees.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 21, 2010 2:46 pm
Slumping back into his seat, he didn't know what to do. Without his sunglasses, he would get caught by either someone he knew or someone that wanted to know him. And he wasn't the type to spend more money on another car, either. But it wasn't as if he was trying to flaunt his money, more so that he knew if he didn't the attention thing would get worse. He wasn't going to make his son take the bus or anything either . . . what was he to do? Sighing, he drove home.
Soon seven o'clock rolled over, and he went to go pick up his son again – he was in simple clothes with the visor flipped down, looking down and messing with the radio as long as he could; anything to get away from the public vision. It was obvious that when his son hadn't come out for a good ten minutes that he was just being plain weird, but he'd really do anything not to be seen.
Eventually, his son came out. Sighing with relief, he stepped on the gas and easily slid out of his parking spot and onto the road, where people on the sidewalk talked among themselves about how they could see his face – and making up wild stories on why he was wearing such plain clothes. This was not pleasant, but he'd do anything for his son.
“How was work?” he asked, trying to avoid the fact that everyone was staring at him.
Books, more books, some magazines, and even newspapers are what Levi handled for the past couple of hours. He didn’t talk much to the other employees since he was a reserved kind of guy. Small talk would happen to make the silence not as awkward, but it was always the coworker who started the conversation. Levi was use to the silence and liked being with his own thoughts. He liked talking with Lora and only her.
He paused putting a book on the shelf. Lora was a very special friend to him, but they had more than enough teasing from the rest of the boys and girls. On more than one occasion they were called a couple or love birds. The teen had to admit that he wanted to find out what it would be like to kiss her. But his heart was elsewhere in the love department. It never had a chance either.
The clock chimed seven so Levi got up to leave. He had a ride to catch. He was stopped by a fellow coworker, but couldn’t remember her name. She was asking him about the shelf he just finished. He responded with that the box was in the back room with books still inside. She went off after that, but he could’ve sworn she wanted to ask something else of him. He shrugged stepping out of the shop to be created with the picture of his father.
He couldn’t believe what he did. The teen never thought that his father would ever listen to him. He had to admit that his father didn’t look like himself. Well he did look like himself just a little different from the normal. ‘He never dresses down like this..even at home. I didn’t think he had these kind of clothes.’ Another thing Levi noticed was the crowd starring at his father and heard the whispered gossip. It was like there was more attention with him in plain clothes as his normal clothes.
There was a strong urge to just yell at the people for all their starring since it was making him nervous. He slipped into the car without looking at the crowd. “Work was work. It passed by rather fast today,” he replied.
“Can we just get out of here?” The next thing he knew he would see his picture on the internet with comments and questions. Why is this teen with the fashion King? Why is the Fashionista wearing such clothes? Levi sighed knowing that it was such a bad idea to ask this of his father.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 19, 2010 4:33 pm
"T-That's nice . . ." he said, continuing to look ahead but pushing down the visor now, despite the fact that the sun was not even shining in that direction.
He nodded, stepping on the gas much harder, obviously wanting to leave the area as well. He knew the press well -- he had studied it before he really "put himself out there" and became famous -- and he knew even better that this was not a good move. But his son was, by far, placed before his career. His son was the most important thing in his life, and, well, he didn't want to cause embarrassment for the young teen.
Even Guiles knew the horrible things young people said. After all, the public he pleased with his work was majority teens and young adults, not including the professionals. The public stars had to please was the general audience. And that general audience was never a lovely bunch, even back when the designer was his son's age.
Pulling into the driveway, there were some of their neighbors out, conversing amongst themselves in the late autumn afternoon that stopped their little chat to watch Guiles go into his home with his son in silence.
It was as if the world stopped.
Attempting to look unfazed at the situation at hand, he held in a sigh, feeling his phone vibrate. He looked at the name, took a 180 from the direction he was going in, and began walking away from the living room and back over to his workroom. Bits and pieces of his father's conversation could be heard, and Guiles's responses were almost always a very solemn apology. This went on for a good five minutes before the dark-haired man flipped his phone shut, running a hand through freshly washed hair and sitting down in his chair, staring at the mess of sketches on thin, translucent paper on top of a light desk.
Very, very bad move. However, he felt like designing now. He wasn't quite sure if he'd like dinner, though . . . .
"We should always eat together, right? Guiles . . .?"
Closing his eyes, he sighed again. His wife's voice saying that line was always refreshed in his memory whenever he even vaguely thought of skipping a meal with his son. And with good reason -- how lonely would it be, to eat alone when your only other family member was in another room, just footsteps away? He shook his head, stood and turned the light desk off. He felt like changing, but he supposed that he'd have to get used to this for his son.
However, he didn't know if he could go on every single day not wearing sunglasses . . . He sort of liked his mirror shades.
Peeking his head into the living room, he found no one there. He settled on the thought that his son must have gone upstairs, and made his way, softly, up the stairs to Levi's room. He rapped his knuckles on the door gently, his voice just barely audible.
"Levi? Can I come in?"
Levi grimaced when they returned to their neighborhood. Just like the crowd outside the bookstore, their neighbors stopped and starred. He ran a hand through his hair trying not to throw them a glare. ‘Ok lesson learned, never try putting father in normal clothing.’ He was rather dissapointed by that fact, but it was the truth. Even he had to admit to himself that his father didn’t look right or comfortable in those clothes.
Just getting through the doorway and his father got a phone call. “Guess I’ll tell you later..” The teen said softly to the apologetic adult. He went to the kitchen, but then thought better of it and went upstairs to his room. He didn’t want to hear any more of his father’s apologies to whoever it was. He guessed that it would be someone he needed to design for. Levi never asked him. It was his father’s business, if he wanted to share he’d share. Secretly he wished to know, but won’t let that out.
He went straight to his homework since he hadn’t anything better to do. It was only an essay, terms to write, and one review section to be completed. He thought about his father and his outfit again. “He really isn’t a normal person. Damn…” He put his mp3 player on. Open Up Your Eyes by Daughtry was the first song to blast through his ears.
The time passed by, the terms were finished and he was halfway through the review. He didn’t hear his father at the door, how could he? He leaned back in his chair, which made a squeak, to stare at the ceiling. He sighed and started to sing softly.
For the first time you can open your eyes.
And see the world without your sorrow.
And no one knows the pain you left behind.
And all the peace you could never find.
It’s waiting there to hold and keep you.
Welcome to the first day of your life.
Just open up your eyes.
The last line was whispered, as if it was a wish the teen wanted to come true. He straightened in his chair to get back to his work. But he looked at the clock noticing the time and knew dinner had to be prepared. So he got up and was ready to go downstairs, when he was stopped in his doorway. He looked confused as to why his father was there. “Did you need something dad?”
PostPosted: Sun Oct 10, 2010 8:46 pm
As his son began to sing, he couldn't help but press his ear against the door, wanting to be in the room so he could hear him even more clearly. He closed his eyes, almost like he could picture his son better that way. He heard those last five words and could picture them slipping out of his son's lips, almost like a choked cry . . . but was it?
He began to hear soft footsteps head towards the door, making Guiles take a lengthy step back, just in time to see his son come out of his room and for their eyes to meet, confusion colliding with a look of sadness and a want to comfort. He shook his head and smiled,
"Nothing's wrong, Levi . . ."
He took a small step up to his child and held him, his head on the high school student's and his arms wrapped around the smaller body tightly. He stood there for a moment, his arms' grip strong.
"I love you, Levi. " he murmured softly his breath passing over the younger male's ear. With that he let go, smiling.
"I wanted to hold you. That's all. Sorry if it was awkward or something . . " he scratched the back of his head. Glancing at his watch, he looked back up at Levi.
He had work to be done.
"What time is dinner going to be ready?" he asked, his crave to design still unsatisfied and needing to be given paper and a pencil soon. He rarely ever asked his son what exactly the dinner was; he had complete faith in him, and he probably wouldn't know what he was making anyway, even with the name. And, knowing himself well enough, he knew that his son would once more mix into his design ideas as they always did after they had such a rough day -- his son was his main point of inspiration. Teen culture, teen life, teen society; his son gave him a small, dirt-covered window to the young world from his room of adulthood.
Looking at his son, he realized that Levi did not look too much like his mother. It was that Levi had his own natural beauty about him; he radiated and glowed of something great and precious. Slowly, his hand reached out and pat his child's head, stroking through his hair. He smiled.
"You're all too good to me." he whispered.
His breath was held as his heart raced. Levi knew that something was up, but didn’t question his father. He wouldn’t have the time to either seeing how his father enveloped the boy into his arms.
His breath was held as his heart raced. He didn’t know how to react. It was unexpected, but not disliked. He hadn’t been held by his father like that in such a long time. Again he was warmed by the foolish man holding him. The soft whisper in his ear sent shivers down his spines. He tried to keep still and to just enjoy how close they were. ‘If you knew dad... Would you still love me?’ He thought sadly.
‘Awkward?’ You really are a foolish father.’ Levi smiled a little, the first time that day. “It's ok dad.”
He raised an eyebrow in question to his father’s question. ‘He never asked when dinner would be ready. He’d just go design or does other work then comes into the kitchen.’ He didn’t ask his question so he just answered his fathers’. “It should be ready in thirty to forty five minutes.”
His breath was held as his heart raced. He felt his father’s fingers in his hair. A touch of a father to his child. The teen wanted to protest at the pat of the head to say he wasn’t a child anymore, but he held his tongue. Instead he smiled a little again.
“You so sure dad?” He asked teasingly. He wished he didn’t sound so teasing since he saw the look on his father’s face and in his eyes. It surprised him. He saw that kind of look when his father was looking at his mother or a great piece he had finished. The boy was thankful that his blush wasn’t seen since he moved away from his father to start down the stairs.
“I love you too dad and it was nice not awkward.” Levi walked down the stairs a little quick to get into the kitchen. The troubled youth was getting frustrated with his own emotions. What teenager doesn’t? A soft sigh escaped his lips.
A bowl for a salad and chicken in a bowl with a lemon mixture was what he was preparing. The grill had been turned to heat up as he boiled a pot of water. The water soon came to boiling point and he added the spice plus the cuscus. Then he went outside into the sunset to put the chicken on the grill.
It was a beautiful sunset of purple, orange, pink, and blue. Every color related to him. The purple, pink, and blue the colors of the bisexual flag, something his father didn’t know. Levi had to think about whether or not he actually was bisexual. He called himself bisexual since he did find girls attractive and boys. Then he thought that he was gay since he was in love with his father. He shook his head not wanting to focus on the subject anymore and focused on the orange. That color always reminded him of fall and his mother. He turned away from the sunset heading back inside to finish dinner.
Oh, the irony.
As he looked at the same sunset that his son was, his idea came to him. As his hand used the pencil in his grasp, the piece that formed was drawn, scribbled, drawn again, added to and went through the process that most of his works went through while he tried to create something.
It was funny, really, how his creation just then used those shades of color to complement a body that would have to be very androgynous. Eventually, the outcome of what another would think was madness was gorgeous. But just planning took nearly half an hour. Losing track of time was all too easy for Guiles, and maybe, as sad as it sounds, perhaps he got lost in things too easily. After the shock of his wife having killed herself, he felt himself slipping from reality. From life. As if he was floating in the in between, not truly experiencing anything. But lately, he felt as if he was slowly being brought down to earth again . . .
Looking at the time, he saw that dinner would be finished soon. He immediately got up from his desk, walking to the kitchen as the smell of chicken guided him.
It had been a long time since he had ate with his son. Out of no where he had started too, right after he had started all of these rapid changes. Perhaps realization was hitting now.
"It smells good, Levi . . ."
he smiled. "Should I set the table?"
Levi had finished making the salad when the timer went off for the chicken. With tongs and plate in hand he went to the grill taking the chicken of the grill. He smiled seeing how the pieces came out perfectly and smelled delicious. As he headed back inside he saw his father enter the kitchen. The teen figured that the creation he was working on was now finished, which was why he was joining his son now.
“Thanks dad that would help.” He replied a small smile on his lips. He liked it when he and his dad worked together. He liked it since it happened rarely. His father was always busy with a creation or something. The boy was curious to what his father worked on and even where he got his ideas. He would never ask the man, so he figured he’d never know the magician’s trick.
Once the table was set, he placed the salad bowl, plate of chicken, and the pot of cuscus onto the table. He let his father fill his own plate as Levi filled his own with food. Before he sat down Levi got a glass of water for both himself and his father. Then he sat down able to relax a little, since dinner was finished.
“I wanted to tell you something before you got on the phone.” He paused trying to think of the right words, but it was always better to be blunt. “What you are wearing is rather horrible. Tone down a little when you pick me up, just not this much.” He took a piece of chicken in his mouth. Once swallowed he mumbled, “You can wear the sunglasses too..they aren’t that bad.”
“It just isn’t you..” He mumbled again before focusing on his meal. He felt like an idiot for trying to change his father, but it was what he wanted. The boy noticed that if his father wore normal or fashionable clothes he would always catch the attention of the public.
