i for one have never heard of the Israeli Independence Day. o_O; so it doesn't matter how obvious the symbology, i wouldn't recognize something i never knew about.

well, why wouldn't they? it's their holy land too, and i wouldn't be surprised if it meant alot more to them personally than even to the christians and muslims by simply the historical facts. now, i know that th efollowers of both of those religions have the same reason for believing in Israel as the holy land for their own religions, but see, the jewish religion is specifically for people of the original 12 tribes. alot of christians and muslims are not of jewish descent, but EVERYONE who is jewish is.
i'm just saying, that every single jew out there has direct heritage from that land, and it's as much a racial and cultural thing to them as it is a religious thing.
