Well, Have you heard a pedal steel/hawaiian guitar, they look like this:  If you have geard one, I want to try and get a similar kind of sound from a regular guitar, using a slide.

There are some licks that resemble a pedal steel.I've got some in my guitar one magazine.If I find my magazine i'll post the licks.

Use pure steel strings, thick gauge, get some of those steel thumb and finger pics, and play with your EQ! mrgreen

Like i said, just use a steel bar. If you really think about it, that makes the biggest impact on the pedal steel sound.
