So guess what? I have a wireless router as of last Christmas! Now summer's coming up, and while I'm going to grad school in the fall, I have yet to actually secure a summer job that would allow me to avoid going home all summer. However, my laptop here currently lacks internet, and the only computer that has it is a desktop that freezes up at least once or twice daily.
That said, I'd like to have a computer that DOESN'T suck and comes equipped with internet. That's where the router comes in.
First off, should I install the router on my laptop now, while I still have internet access? Or should I wait until I'm home to attempt that?
(More questions likely to follow pending on the answer. Bumps may apply; results may vary.)

Usually you don't have to install s**t to your laptop. If you want to though, you can, and you'll set a password and SSID and everything, but definitely wait until you go home, because you'll need your home network.
