Alright I posted my pics of my jeep and I liked that vehicle.. but it was not a practical dd for someone of my age. Thing was costing me about 120 to 130 a week between car payment, insurance and gas.. So that had to go, bought it for 2800, put some work into it and just sold it for 4500. And I bought a fun car. kinda a smaller car.. fast.. really fun to drive overall.

1993 Ford Probe GT, happy to kind of be back with ford, I say kinda because its a ford shell with the mazda 626 and MX6 motor, real peppy 2.5 V6. Its obviously a 5 spd, had to be. Everything is power and everything works great. picked this up for 1600 bucks and couldnt be happier with how clean the body is. Needed about the same amount of money put into it as the jeep did so not losing there and insurance is half, surprising being that this is the GT model. And this gets about 24 mpg avg. which is almost double the jeep but I have to put 93 gas in it with it being a performance motor. Already had it up to 110 mph too.... 3nodding

Rims def need some work, so I got a wire brush kit to grind off the oxidation and getting some specific 240 grit sandpaper to sand away the rest. The only thing I am still in the air about is color.. I wouldnt mind refinishing them to look like new as I can get the paint for that, but I also wouldnt mind doing them flat black with a clear and then doing either a silver or red lip.

How do you go about refinishing alloy rims? As you can probably tell from my pictures, my alloys aren't in that great shape as far as looks go. There's some kinda squiggily oxidization lines on each rim, and I think two of the rims have chips in the finish.

I just went to my local parts store and picked up a wirebrush tool that you can put on the end of the drill and grind as much oxidation off.. Then you must get some around 240 grit sandpaper and sand down the oxidation. You can then get a finished alloy looking paint and have them look brand new. My friend did this with a set of rims and at first I thought he bought himself brand new rims for his car.. so it works. Im doing all this to clean it up but putting a matte black basecoat down with a few layers and then painting the lip of the rim red and finally a clearcoat to protect it all.

Refinished my rims.. Used a wire brush, some 240 grit sanding block and 120 grit sandpaper. Then used the airhose get them cleaned up masked off then did a few light coats of flat black with a final coat of clear to give it a bit of a shine.

I will be using a good ol paint brush to put the red lip on the rims and then going red with the calipers maybe. Getting my two rear side windows and rear window limo tinted soon also..

Also got a nice wax and major buffing today, looks a lot more shiny now than it does in this pic..

Made another run in my car at my local drag track. Had my best time yet and it was a 10.33. So my times in the 1/8th are as followed.. 1st 10.66 2nd 11.08 3rd 10.39 4th 10.37 5th 10.33 of all the runs Ive made and had a 15.9 in the 1/4 mile track. My next step with the car is to put a stage 1 or 2 race clutch in it and decent headers and exhaust.

That 11.08 had a little bit of clutch slippage going into 2nd gear. thats prime speed right there in the 1/8th.. thats why I want a new clutch. Im sure I could run a 10.10 or lower with a new clutch alone.
