 Yukari pondered for a moment and took her head off of Diesel's shoulder as she gave him a harsh look. "Don't focus on such things like that. We must learn to rejoice for those who find eternal peace, not mourn them. Even if he killed himself, he did what he felt was right, and that makes it justified." Yukari looked away from Diesel and down at Stefan, stroking his head lightly. It was truly a blessing for him to be deaf, so he could not hear what they were saying. "You just have to open up to people more and show them the real you, like you did to me. I saw your heart, not your mask."

Stefan's head nodded as he slept, curled as he was in Yukari's lap and Diesel put a hand to his mouth for a moment "My child has no mother to love him. And he has a father who can barely take care of him. And there is a war coming." his shoulders shook for a moment but he kept control of himself. He'd promised to never lose himself like he had before, like with Ryuta "I cannot rejoice when I know that I might leave him here...alone someday. He will have no one." This was his true fear, what made him close off the world behind his mask, that his son would be alone. His broken child would have no one to protect him when he, Diesel, was gone.

Oh how misguided he was. Yukari shook her head lightly, eyes closed, and gave a faint smile. She rested a hand on Diesel's shoulder and looked back at him. "Silly, you can't be so pessimistic about these things. It will be fine. Yes, there is a war coming, but I promise you that it will not come here. If it does though, I swear to be here to protect him. You just have to promise that you won't die out there protecting him. The boy needs a father now more than ever you know."

Diesel didn't respond, watching Stefan sleep for a long time. He didn't have Yukari's constant optimism and he couldn't help but worry, despite her words "I have found...that promises are useless." he reached over and lifted Stefan out of her lap and stood, holding the small boy to his side. Stefan squirmed and wrapped his arms around his father's neck as he slept, sighing happily "But I will hold you to that." Diesel looked at her, his eyes warm for the first time since Ryuta's death "I'll trust you to keep your promise about protecting him." he leaned over and kissed her gently on her forehead then moved to pick up Stefan's bowl.

Yukari looked away as her face began to flush and turn red. She could see that kindness in his eyes again. She intended to keep her promise. She could see what Stefan meant to him, and after saving her from her own fate, Yukari would gladly give up her life to keep safe the one thing Diesel held dear. With the boy finally off her lap, Yukari rose to her feet and took a few steps forward. "Well...I better be going for now. I have my own little child to attend to. I'll be back soon, so don't miss me too much now~♪" Yukari giggled and blew Diesel a kiss as a boundary opened in front of her. Yukari smiled with relief as she stepped inside. She loved her boundaries, and she was glad that they did not change at all. It was still home for her.[exit]

Diesel watched her leave and sighed turning to wander through the gardens, just enjoying having time alone with his son. Even if Stefan was asleep What's going to happen to you when this is over... he thought, sitting under a tree with Stefan in his lap.

Don't mind him,  Kai sat on a stone bench in the gardens, slouching in the chair. Small short breaths came from his mouth as he slept soundly. A change in the air around him woke him and he opened his eyes, finding himself on a roof that overlooked the gardens. He had been daydreaming about sleeping? This was unlike him...Maybe it was the lack of sleep he had had from the long nights he spent watching for danger and reading on hollow and arrancar. He rubbed his eyes and brought his attention back to the gardens. He could still feel Diesel and his son's reitsu in the area. They seemed to be doing fine, but you never knew. He moved to another building so he could actually see them for himself. He watched the two for a while and started to feel himself lay on the warm tiles of the Fourth Squad building. His vision blurred for a second and then black. He rolled off the side and into a rather plush bush, asleep. He opened his eyes and oonce again found himself sitting perched in an alert position. Day dreaming again. He sighed. he's just contemplating the best way to kill you.

Stefan stood, moving carefully out of his father's lap and walked through the garden. Diesel was sleeping gently against the tree and Stefan didn't want to wake his papa but I'm bored... he glanced up and spotted Kai, running over to him Hello! he signed happily.

Don't mind him, Kai looked down from his perch and noticed Stephan signing up at him. He smiled and signed back to him 'Hi, how are you? Having fun?' he asked the child. It seemed as if Diesel was sleeping, he needed it, the last few days had been draining probably for his King. At least it was in a peacefull place like the gardens. he's just contemplating the best way to kill you.

I'm bored! Come play with me! Stefan demanded, making it quiet clear even without speaking. He waved his hands desperately at Kai and made faces, clearly wanting to do anything but wait for his father to wake up.

Don't mind him, He sighed and signed back, Okay, what do you wish to play? he asked the child as he leapt down from the roof and lighted down infront of him. His zanpakuto clincked as he landed, his hair falling into place as well and staying there for once. His eyes fell back to Diesel who was still asleep. he's just contemplating the best way to kill you.

Stefan shrugged, wondering what they should play Papa usually plays ball with me. he signed then looked at his sleeping father, wondering if he should go wake him up.

Don't mind him, Ball? he signed to Stephan. What kind of ball? like catch? he shrugged his shoulders and looked over at Diesel as a Hell butterfly lighted on his shoulder. "?" he looked at the black insect with curiosity as it sent its message silently. he's just contemplating the best way to kill you.
