So my aunt is big on conspiracy theorys...
This whole 'planes stopped and volcanoes exploding' thing has got her going once again, on account there seem to be a rash of valcanoe-based documentaries on recently, she thinks it's covering something up, and I figured a lot of people here just might agree with her.
Also, I just watched the news and heard about some meteorite in America, my mum thinks they're connected, on account of both news items revolving
So, basically, I want your thoughts.
I know there are a lot of people in this guild who belive in all these conspiracy theorys, and I know you love your research and your proof- I don't have proof, I have relatives with hunches, but that's better than research for me. I wanna know if there's any truth behind this, and figure you're the guys to ask.
I know most of my posts in here have been skeptical and occasionaly just plain rude, but this time my interest is piqued, and I'm geniuinly interested in finding out about this particular topic- might not even be a cover up, might be the genuine thing -but on the off chance it's something much more intriguing, I figured I'd ask.

Hmm, I didn't even know about the volcanoes, thanks for the tip. Seems that flights in western Europe that go west are canceled until the skies clear. They are estimating 3 days, in which the aviation industry will loose 1 billion dollars. Regarding extreme precautions: I saw some footage from the Shetland Islands and they had cars covered in ash, so I think it has been a pretty big deal. Also, I'm pretty sure they can't just re-route airplanes and stuff. I know down in Cornwall we've still got the smaller planes going becuase they only fly at like, 5000 feet. It's only the big Jet planes that aren't alowed to go.
I'm not sure about how bad it is throughout Europe, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry right?
I don't know [it's doubtful] if they are related, but I figured if anyone was gonna know it'd be a 'truth seeker' right?
The more I've looked into the meteor thing, the less of a big deal it seems, not entirely sure why it was headline news in the UK.

I think that the volcano is more likely to be related to all of the recent earthquakes than to a meteor. We've only had an average number of large magnitude earthquakes this year; the thing is that it's only April. If the trend continues we could have way more than average, but only time will tell on that.
As to the grounding of the planes: Volcanic ash is some nasty s**t. It will stall the engines and set them on fire. You're talking about clouds of super-fine sand, rock, and glass. It's really quite dangerous from an aviation standpoint, given what I've seen about it.
