Some of the tension drained from his posture, and Hrothbert returned the smile. There was a warmth in his features that was not often present, and the hint of sadness that was always in his eyes seemed muted. Present, but less.
"Just remember, anybody on that list is at your disposal should you need them." He paused, contemplating his next words.
"As am I, Empress."

Anyone of the names on that list? Kaok's mind stopped for a moment, before she moved on. Having the means to ask a god for help - that was a strange idea in and of itself.
The Faun gave Hrothbert a rather big hug, as she had given Emma, but this one was less sudden. "You're a far better man that you give yourself credit for."

The sorcerer froze in shock as Kaok hugged him. That was...unexpected, to say the least. He'd thought that sort of affection from the Faun was reserved for his wife.
After a few moments of sorting through a few centuries of guilt and fierce denial, Hrothbert hugged her back. "If you say so."

"I do, and it's absolutely true. I just hope that you'll be able to realize that one day - I'm sure that Emma's probably tried saying it quite a few times before." The hug continued, as un-awkwardly as possible. "Though, knowing what the two of you are like, it wouldn't have worked. Stubborn as you are..."

"She's been trying since before we were wed, before she managed to break me out of my own personal hell. I do not doubt that she will continue to try for the rest of our lives, and that she will encourage our daughter to do the same." he said, half-joking as he withdrew from the hug. He took the Faun's hand, brushing it with a chaste and chivalrous kiss. "I should leave you to your groom."

"Hmm." The Faun couldn't help but smile a little wider as she glanced over at Remus. "It's comforting to know that I can still make good decisions."
She thanked Lord Bainbridge one last time before she made her way back to the Imperator's side.
