So, finally, we've hit the 100th episode.

And to tell you the truth I'm a bit disappointed, but I may have to re-watch the episode.

First, I'll tell you what I liked.

Cas. Cas is amazing, he's the only who makes sense to me anymore. His character is constantly making progress, from being an angel and to now on his way to becoming human and losing faith in his father. And he kicked Dean's butt. Seriously, Dean deserved it. He's become such a sap. Somewhat out of character and annoying and dripping with angst. I mean, I get it, he's been to hell and back, he's feeling guilty and he's lost faith in Sam and in himself. This episode strove to mend that, and in the end they made up, but I don't know, I just... I barely felt it.

I guess I've already progressed into things I didn't like. Which is Dean. I kind of wanted to him say yes, but I guess I don't mind that he didn't say it. Which brings us to Adam. I liked that they brought him back, his purpose seems clear. Now, Dean doesn't have to say yes, and Adam can kill Lucy in Mark's body, without Sam being sacrificed. But this makes me feel like the show shifts its focus away from the boys. Was I the only one who was looking forward to a big showdown between them? Kind of like last season, but you know, of Apocalyptic proportions? Although... that would be kind of redundant huh? The whole point this season was to reunite the two. Hmmm...

The best part of the episode was of course, Zach getting shanked. The sad part, yet another angel dies. Why, why, is every angel that we meet a douchebag? And why did those two poor humans need to die in the beginning? It seemed pointless and cruel.

Besides that, does anyone feel like Bobby isn't getting proper attention? He seems to be completely useless? Not only is he not getting anywhere with the research, he can't help the boys in the fight. Then, Dean has to go and stab us all in the heart, with that stupid, "You're not my father" comment.

Also, fangirl service. Those jokes between Dean and Cas, they were funny, but it was total service so I just rolled my eyes.

Overall, I think I'd give this episode a C.

i could not stop smiling when i saw Cas. Cas was kicking some serious a**,(lol it rhymes!) and it really made my day. the jokes between cas and dean made me smile! : ) even though im not into that stuff, i just thought it was funny .... idk.
but i thought it was pretty out of nowhere when they brought adam back. i was all like "HOLY s**t!" he was like a brick wall out of nowhere. and he was kinda a douche. maybe it just runs in the family -shrugs-
the episode was good. i wouldnt criticize it, coulda been a tad more epic though. but whats more epic than a pissed off fallen angel???? Exactly.

Up front, I was really stoked for this episode. This (the reunion of the dynamic duo) needed to happen like several episodes ago. The angst was getting to be too much to take. They were practically force-feeding it to us with his visit to Lisa, and then again with the sappy, drippy piano solo when Dean's making his goodbye-box. It wasn't just the boys losing faith, here--we fans were suffering, too. Or at least I was. Looking back, I wonder if that was intentional. Hmmm... any speculations?

I'm definitely with you guys on the Cas-factor, though! Watching him rip Dean a new one for giving up was a thing of beauty. And the fan service was just fun enough not to be intrusive. You're right Danielle--he's the character to have had the most development over the course of the last season. I've enjoyed very much his character evolution, and can't wait for him to return from that attack.

As for the insertion of Adam? A stretch, but believable. Zach's dealings with him, though? Maybe not so much. Before they went to the Beautiful Room (love Dean's nickname for the place), Adam seemed pretty convinced the angels were on the side of good, and the Winchester crew were the enemy. If he wasn't convinced by the time he left, he had definitely changed sides when Zach revealed his true colors. Why was that? Why not keep their bait happy and complacent? Or was there no point any longer? I could just be nit-picking.

The one element that seemed a little off was Dean's magic switch from desperate emo kid to clever big-bro-hero while Zach's calling down Michael. I wanted explanation for that, too. More than we got in the car ride to... wherever. I mean, I loved what he said--it fit perfectly with how he'd been acting for the entirety of the previous seasons--but it still left me wanting.

And hey! Why has no one mentioned the intro, yet? Did you see the havoc wrought in that bar when Zach was speaking to his superior? Did that strike anyone as too harsh to be the Big Man? I don't know about you guys, but I would say that Zach's allegiances lie with someone who isn't in close contact with Mister High and Mighty.

On that note, why are practically all the angels we've met total assholes? With the exception of Cas and maybe Joshua (and Gabriel, but that's up for debate), they've all been harsh, uncaring, and not a little scary. Are so many of the Host without conscience or compassion? Or is it just that the boy's have been in the middle of a movement that involved this breed of halo-hanger? I'd like to believe in the latter, considering how few angels we've actually met (the Bible seems to imply that there are a great many of them). Perhaps all the good ones are simply taking cue from the Man On High and staying well clear of the whole deal. Cas just happened to be part of a garrison that was gearing up for this whole Apocalypse deal.

I'm open to any and all discussion, guys! I'd love to hear from you! Thus far I've made posts on most of the episodes 'discussions' and haven't seen much in the way of back-and-forths. Any takers? ^_^U

I think most of the Angel are probably douches for various reason.

1) They kind of have to give a little tough love (like Cas kicking Dean's Butt) I mean Seriously it's the Apocalypse.
2) They don't exactly share they same thoughts and feelings as human (Anna kind of says this in her own special way, and seriously we know something must be wrong with them if Uriel was consider a comedian.)
3) Uriel did kill a lot of good angels awhile back (I pretty sure that they weren't all douches.

That just how I see it.

I don't see Adam being the one to end it, because of that whole " The one who breaks the first seal, will be our savior" or whatever it is that they say (could have just been angel propaganda.). I was fine with the episode for the most part I probably give it a B, because it left me wanting more in certain spots. Then again I could have just been over expecting.

On a side note does it bother anyone else that Dean and Sam could save themselves a whole lot of time and trouble if they would read the bible (like Cas tells them to various times) or at least informed themselves on the things like the seals (already to late to do that) or all the evil things coming out of the Apocalypse before they run head first into these things?

The one thing I sooo did not see coming was Zach being killed. I for sure thought he would have been there until the last episode of the season, so that shocked me honestly.

Cas and Dean going back and forth was like a slashers dream, lol at least in the conversations they were having. I laughed so hard at them.

@JustStacey, I agree with you on the reasons most of the Angels are douches. I mean, they are a serious breed, besides Cupid they don't really know how to joke around and they don't understand when someone else is joking around.

Cas has lightened up a bunch because of his constant hanging out with Sam and Dean, so he's learned to crack some jokes here and there and he's learning when the boys are joking.

And I hate Adam. I never liked that story line and I still don't. The show started out as Sam and Dean and I think adding in "oh hey they have a half brother" was just...I don't know, wrong? I mean, of course John was going to sleep around (who wouldn't have wanted to?? eh?? eh?? lol) but adding another (1/2) Winchester into the mix, I was never a fan of it. So bringing him back, ugh, I just rolled my eyes. For the storyline of trying to "blackmail" Dean it was okay, but I really wish Adam would have stayed dead. Wow, that doesn't sound bitchy at all does it? razz

@E: I thought the whole Dean turning into the hero at the end was kinda off as well. You can't be emo and then all of a sudden the next second be like, "I totally planned that" because, NO you didn't Dean. You can't fool us. razz

@Danielle: I thought Bobby was a little off the radar in this one too. But i've read some spoilers where he wont be soon! I wont say what the spoiler is but, oh boooooy lol.

All in all I thought it was a good episode. Just a few things here and there were like, "Whaaat?" but I would still rate this as one of the best of the season so far.
