Okay so I was watching Tyra and a Hasidic Jew was on the show talking about how during her period, she doesnt sleep in the same bed or touch her husband for like 12 days and gets to go to a Mikvah at her Synegogue, which sounds like a spa to me eek
Islam needs to adopt this rofl
Can any of you tell me why you do this?
And if this is done by only a certain type of jew? Or do all of jewish couples do this?

@ Lummany: That's not fair. You know she wasn't mocking Judaism.
Can you really say that you have an overly solemn approach to all strange religious practices outside of your religion?
If that was sarcasm though... My bad. XD

Leviticus 15:19 " 'When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.
20 " 'Anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. 21 Whoever touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. 22 Whoever touches anything she sits on must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. 23 Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, he will be unclean till evening.
As far as Im aware, it is a practice that should be observed by all Jewish woman.

It was a about periods, but I found it pretty useless. Discussing crap I learned when I was 10 years old. Although the Jewish lady was pretty cool.
