i need some tag battle help myself, so i am making this thread
basically i use fire types like Magmortar and Blaziken even the Dancing Charizard...and bulkier ones like Ho-oh and Heatran
well i'm in a jam, i'm gonna find a friends-only HG/SS league near me, and i hope to double battle in it, but i wanna use a good NU-Tier team for it, (of which there is one nearby that only allows NU-level pokemon or lower)
basically gimme some pointers guys i wont be using fire types as my fire-team is geared for OU-anticipation but i will be training pokemon for this specifically and am gonna use a team of defenders namely Magcargo and Cradilly so pointers for them will help majorly

I think one thing that must be known about doubles battles is that you can't EV your pokemon the same way that you normally would. EVs will have to be spread onto most stats, with a specification on HP for some. Priority moves are much more important in Doubles than in singles and in most situations the majority of a team has Protect and field attacks instead of a single targeting attack, I.E. Rock Slide over Stone Edge.

You can't use just one type.
I tried all leaf, didn't work out. emo
Then I tried Leaf fire and water. Didn't work out.
Then I tried Leaf, Fire, water, Electric, Psychic, and Ghost. Worked out fine if you know how to use them ^^.

That isn't necessarily true, Firestar. You have to factor in the fact that Grass types have 5 Major weaknesses, more than most other pokemon in the games. That pretty much leads to any versatile sweeper being able to hit a grass type for super effective damage.
You have to also take your dual types into account. I frequently use my Ground gym leader team as an effective doubles team and they work fairly well together.

fire flying ice poison and bug the five problems with grass
you see i'm not using an all-one-type team for this NU-only League, but i am moreso focusing on "oxymoron" pairings ie: a magma snail + a uprooted Seaweed (Magcargo/Cradilly respectively) pair them up, the two kill each other (fire burns grass but the grass lives/lived underwater)
there are a total of two other pairing i'm using but they're hard to explain
the league i'm entering is a "two pokemon only" type fght so once you ko the first round of pokemon, you win, however it's set up with points, most of which are based on a theme, so it's not enough to win, but to win with style, thats why i'm using this set-up so people wont see my theme until they see my pokemon
(theme is like 50% of the available points in one fight.)
anyways i need tips: i hear cradily is a good rest/sleep talker/snorer and magcargo i hear is better with utilizingstatus change moves (my source i'll not reveal)
so any updates on them would be best as they are my main registered team
