The male pushed himself onward, his mind was a blur of pain and memories. He had left his den behind, his field, his boulder, the place he had called his home for so long. Unable to stay there any longer and face the memories of the place. Myrle had left suddenly, and took Jayel with her. Numair had left to find a pack where his beliefs fit in, Aranel had left to search him out and Kazim had long since disappeared. His family had completely fallen apart and he was alone again, a pain that broke his heart more than anything else in the world.

Sullen gold eyes looked out over the landscape, a small lake lie ahead and his throat was dry and he had not eaten in quite some time. Licking his dry black nose his continued forward, though his paw ached, his legs screamed in protest as he had taken little rest, just trying to get as far from the boulder den as he could in as little time as possible.

As the water came up to him he pushed himself into the water. laying himself down until he was chest deep in the cool water her lapped up it slowly and looked out across the expanse to the almost invisible opposing side of the lake. He didn't know where he was going, or what was going to happen to him, but everything about his life now was up in the air. Maybe he would seek out Numair, maybe he had found the pack he had once spoken of. By now he must be a strong adult, Aranel as well.

A sigh came from the male as he shook his head, a harsh voice issuing from his throat for the first time in days. "Where do I go from here?" he asked himself as he closed his eyes and relaxed, allowing the ebb and flow of the water to lull him into a sense of calm.

User ImageA blue blur had been the last thing that squirrel had seen before it was ripped from its home in the trees and thrown violently to the ground. For being not-so-light and a bit clumsy on her paws, the wolfess was rather skilled in taking squirrels from the trees and keeping them alive long enough to drown them. And she had to admit that she was rather smug with this fact. Of course, after taking down the squirrel, she could think of nothing besides dragging it to the nearest body of water and ending its life. Some might have thought it a bit morbid, but Kishia wasn't exactly all there in the head. Some might even say she was insane. If you asked Kishia, she'd tilt her head before walking away, searching for another squirrel.

Yet there was hardly a time when another wolf kept company with the strange female, and so she didn't have to answer too many questions. That was probably why there had been a sharp decrease in the local squirrel population. Without anyone else to keep her entertained, she sought her own amusements.

Which was how she now found herself at the river, paw crushing the squirrel's head down into the bed. It was long dead, but she was anything if not thorough. There were times where she would wait until the body went cold and stiff from rigor mortis. This time, however, something caught her attention before she could become too absorbed in her own activities. While her movements were creating ripples in the water, she noticed some that seemed to be going the wrong way. She might have been insane, but she certainly wasn't stupid. Forgetting the squirrel instantly, the blue wolf walked a few paces up the river. Standing in the middle of the water, she saw, was another wolf. He seemed to be doing nothing in particular, except for talking to himself.

"Mayhaps left? Mayhaps right... oh, this difficult journey," she spoke, settling onto her haunches and looking genuinely troubled. "Such difficulty."

Shock shook his body and he sprang to his feet and scoot back and sit back on his haunches as his paws lost grip. He almost snarled at the female before he realized that didn't look like she was going to attack him. That was good at least, the last thing he wanted to do at the moment was fight. There wasn't any fight left in him, hell he felt old in fact for once in his life. His scarred front paws shuffled slightly as he fixed himself into a much more proper sitting position.

"Excuse me?" he asked, tilting his head. He hadn't been aware he had spoken aloud, he had just been thinking to himself and with all the quiet it had just come out. His gold eyes watched the female, he's never in his life seen a wolf with her colors or patterns before and he'd seen a fair few wolves in his time in the field at the boulder.

"Who...who are you?"
he asked carefully, he didn't know anything about the female and since the leaving of Myrle and Jayel he wasn't quite as trusting as he once had been. It felt almost rude not to introduce himself first but he was just playing it safe, if he need to leave then he would do so immediately. He'd gotten his drink and he could just continue on his way. Tongue poking out to lick his black nose nervously he watched the female, waiting for her response. He'd never been a timid wolf, but his mind was shaken and he needed time yet to heal.

The blue wolf let out an easy chuckle. Wolves called her weird sometimes, along with many other nasty names, but she felt like this wolf was the weird one, not her. He was standing in the water, talking to himself! Oh sure, she talked to herself sometimes, but that was only because nobody wanted to talk to her. It was their own fault, anyways. She huffed out loud at these thoughts, but shook them away with a simple turn of her head and focused once more on the lightly colored male.

"You are excused!" she exclaimed, although for what she wasn't quite sure. He hadn't done anything particularly rude. Then again, she didn't really answer to the same etiquette that others seemed to. "You are silly," she spoke, trying to hide yet another laugh. Her tail whisked from one side to the other, brushing the dirt first one way, then another. When he asked who she was, her tail stopped and she tilted her head slightly to the left. A look of genuine confusion overcame her features, and she had to keep from asking this stranger why he needed to know who she was. She was a stranger, wasn't that obvious? She really didn't have any interest in who he was.

"Well, some are to be saying that I've got no mind," she replied, answering his question quite literally, rather in the way that he meant it. "But they've got no minds, ha! At least I am not to be wasting this and dilly dallying that. Such worms, they all are!" She huffed again. "Someone somewhere named Kishia, that's me. Do you like that name? Oh but what does it make, whether the tree grows up or down?" she asked, looking at him seriously. If he hadn't figured out by now that she wasn't all there in the head, then perhaps she had scared him more than he let on.

"Lovely water," she commented, suddenly looking down at what was once clear liquid. Now, however, there were little brown hairs floating at the top, evidence of her earlier escapade. "My squirrel!" she cried lovingly. Her lips pulled up in an affectionate smile, as if she were looking at a lover and not the remains of her sick and twisted sense of humor.

"Do you like squirrely, mister?"
