Quote:
The game follows Rei Kurosawa, a 23 year old freelance photographer. Her fiancé, Yuu, died in a car accident she caused by driving carelessly months before. While on a freelance assignment taking pictures of a supposedly haunted mansion with her assistant Miku Hinasaki, the heroine of the first Fatal Frame game, she sees her deceased fiancé Yuu in a hallway after taking a picture of it, after which she has a daydream of a snowy manor. After she returns home and develops the photo she took, an image of Yuu appears in the photograph. After this, Rei begins having strange recurring dreams. In these dreams, she finds herself at an old Japanese manor house during a heavy snowfall and observes her fiancé entering the house. Seeking him, she follows his figure inside, where the dream becomes a nightmare. Waking up gasping from a frightening encounter, in which she was touched by a female ghost covered in tattoos, Rei notices a mysterious bruise appear on her body, which begins to spread the more she dreams to form a snake and holly tattoo, just like the one on the woman and some of the other ghosts.
Gameplay: Gameplay is set in 3rd person view, first person is optional but not recommended(It's kinda weird). You switch between the dream mansion and Rei's home. Exploring is a key part of this game, you'll have to go to one room to unlock another. The Camera Obscura can be used for more than battle, you'll need to use it to find secrets and move through out the game.
Battle System: The Camera Obscura is your only weapon against the spirits trapped in the dream world. The difference from the other two games in the series is that the camera is set up differently (It's set on the triangle button) and seeing the spirits health is gone. You can find "Measure" but it's well hidden.
Characters:
Rei Kurosawa: A 23 year old freelance photographer (Main Character) lost her fiancé Yuu in a car accident, because of her driving.
Miku Hinasaki: Rei's assistant, heroine of the first Fatal Frame game.
Kei Amakura: A non-fiction writer and uncle of Mio and Mayu from Fatal Frame II, who was Yuu's friend and has not been informed of his death.
Rating: 10/10
I love it, but I'm the kind of person that likes to be scared. You can really feel things build up in the game. (Then you start hearing sounds) The game does what it's meant to do, makes you feel like you surrounded by dead people. . . and it has the creepiest little girls out of all the Fatal Frame games, and a stroller grandma. eek
