I was getting extremely pissed off last night when James and I
were in a medium dungeon. I'm not trying to be full of myself
but I would consider myself as having some high stats. James
only beats me with one, Smithing I believe, and by one or two
levels.

So, we're running through the dungeon and enjoying ourselves
until we run into a few obstacles. . .

-99 Runecrafting
-91 Mining
-100 Mining
-98 Summoning
-101 Fletching

Aren't the dungeons supposed to be based no the lowest
player's skills or did I read that wrong? =/ I was just pissed
because Jagex didn't give me any way of getting my stats that
high in dungeon to even try. We missed four or five rooms
because of this...and our boss was a Lvl 120 something.

Something else that makes me mad is the fact that Solo parties
can't go back into their dungeon if they get disconnected from
the game. The other day, I had an amazing dungeon, it was
perfect. All the ores, branches, fish and herbs I needed. Walking
to the boss...Connection Lost! I show up in that waiting room
and Jagex won't let me party by myself. =/

I am disappointed.

EDIT:

Quote:
NOTE - the difficulty of the dungeon is ALWAYS based on the lowest skill and combat levels in your party.

James does not have 98 Summoning. stare

I think you just got unlucky there; if you find a door or puzzle that requires a skill level none of you have (or can boost to), it's a "bonus room." Frustrating, sure, but you can reach the boss without opening bonus doors. (Unless you were in a party, and someone with the required skill abandoned you.)

The lack of support for solo players bothers me, too. :P

The whole not being able to rejoin a solo is actually something Jagex is trying to fix, but they've had problems with it. They didn't want to delay solo play, let alone the whole skill because of it.

I know but I wish they'd work a little faster.
Why can't they just use similar code to the stuff they
use for Jad only tweaked a little to fit the area
better? It shouldn't be too hard for them.

I'm assuming it's an issue with the fact that the floors are unique. The floor would need to be remembered for the person, and what would happen if a ton of soloers D/Ced or just simply logged out, that's a lot of information to hold on to.

I'm assuming that whatever they do with it, there would be a grace period. So if you return within the hour, you could still have that floor, if not, then the floor is purged from the memory.

Why I think it's a memory issue, is simply because they actually plan on giving soloers Med floors, but they didn't want to stress the servers too much, so they're waiting for the initial rush to die down.

Oh, I know; I guess I did sound a bit callous there. It's just that not only am I a grump with terrible social skills, I'm a grump with terrible social skills and a temperamental six-year-old laptop. XD It doesn't have any viruses or malware or what. It's just old and grumpy and sometimes decides it hates everything, which includes wireless cards and Java applications.

There is no way the obstacles and whatnot are all based on the lowest lvls. I made a new account to dungeon with and when I play with much higher lvl people I rarely ever find a door or resource that I can open or use. Only the monsters lvls seem to be scaled down for me.

I also find the Geomancer annoying although Astea is easy >.> also when fighting the Bloodchiller in a group you will notice that only the person he is attacking will come out of the ice first, this person should then "free" his comrades by clicking on them. This will break everyone from the ice sooner as well as prevent them from takeing bonus damage when being broken free by the Bloodchiller.
