Last year, I shaved my crotch region for the first time. And it itched sooo badly when it grew back that it was unbearable. x__x
I'm probably going to have to shave it again this year, are there any things I can do to reduce itching? And, will it ALWAYS itch? Like, if I shave it three or four times, will it start to not itch anymore?

My boyfriend said he has the same problem when he shaves his crotch area (only once in a blue moon, for the itching reason xd ).
I had him on MSN, so I asked him your question, and he says the more you do it, it should get softer in time. But you have to keep shaving it, and not letting it grow out too much, so it takes dedication. He says he can't confirm it personally, it's just what he's heard.

I found (from experience) that it only really itched maybe the first couple of times and never does anymore. It only would if I let it grow out significantly. So yeah, it takes a lot of commitment to be without complaint.

I didn't believe my boyfriend when he told me my crotch area just had to get used to it, but you know what? He was absolutely right. It took longer than he said it would (he suggested it would take a few weeks, and in reality it must have taken at least six months for me to get to a comfortable point) but also try not to OVERshave, that makes it horrendously uncomfortable. Maybe that's part of what took me so long to get used to it... I was trying to shave as much as everyone else proclaimed to (every day, every two days) and it just didn't work for me. So really... it's a commitment that's up to you.

I shave every day or every other day, and I don't get itchy. It's probably just because I don't allow it time to grow back, or how long I've been doing it. I'm not really sure.

Wonder if anyone has waxed down there before? I know it'd hurt A LOT.

SCxL do you need to shave down there? I think that's teh biggest question I have : / I know I might have to eventually but when I think about it I get nervous and yeah... No, you are certainly not obligated to shave down there now and you never will be obligated to shave down there. In fact, a lot of people don't realize that shaving down there is a pretty recent fad that isn't even recommended for women! Your pubic hair traps bad stuff before it can get to your v****a, sort of like how your eyelashes trap stuff before it gets into your eye. Your pubic hair also holds your underwear away from your skin a little bit and increases airflow. That means that without pubic hair, dirt and bacteria can head straight for the v****a. And on top of that, airflow is reduced. And that means you've now got a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, which means you're at an increased risk of vaginal infection. So staying all natural is your healthiest option followed by trimming, especially if you are pregnant (since some vaginal infections can be serious problems during pregnancy) or are prone to infection. But some people are not prone to infection and are not pregnant, so they may decide to risk it and shave it all off! Others wax, others just remove the hair along the edges, others just remove hair during the summer, etc. People all like different things. So it's all about what you're comfortable with, what you prefer, and what feels best to your body.

God, I remember the first few times I shaved. I didn't know much, then, so I'd just shave without any kind of soap or anything before putting on a bathing suit, and never put lotion on that area.
I've been shaving regularly ever since I started having sex. I used to shave twice a week (once in the beginning of the week, and once in the middle), but my husband loves the feeling of the hair when it's growing back in, and asked me to shave only in the beginning of the week. Which is perfectly fine by me, because it's actually painful to shave the second time because the hair is so thick, and really isn't long enough to be shaved yet.
So, shave once in the beginning of the week. I use the same conditioner that I use on my hair. It softens the hair down there, and makes everything go a little bit more smoothly. Shave opposite the direction the hair is growing in. And, when you're done, use unscented lotion on the area you shaved.
It'll itch the first few times, but after that, everything should be fine and dandy. :3 I don't get itchy anymore.

I know waxing is the best solution but I'm a p***y so noXD
What I do is use nair upper lip hair remover on my bikini/thigh area and just shave the lips since somehow when hair grows in there it doesn't itch at all(for me at least) I just trim the top hair cause that is just a nightmare when it grows backO_O
Use shaving cream and a new razor when saving and use sensitive skin lotion afterwards, helps my vag stay prettyXP

It will itch for a while yea but it will lessen...
As for someone else who asked if you have to shave, no, some guys like hair for the fact that they have that friction as well as it is more "women" and less "child" but I shave for the fact that my boyfriend ends up with scabs and bruises if I dont. So if you shave just enough and trim you should be fine for that. But what ever makes you comfy ^w^

Definately use something to err, lubricate all that goes on down there while your shaving, lol. Theres a skintimate brand cream shave (its right by the other shaving gels and such) that helps soften your skin that i like but conditioner sounds like it'd be a good idea. Razors that arent dull are a must AND - for shaving in general and ive heard this from several different sources - go WITh the way the hair grows first. Then left and right of it and THEN against it. It helps soften the hair follicle i believe gives you a smoother closer shave. Oh, mens razors - and i mean the nice ones not the dinky disposables ones - work better in my opinion. i figure it probably has something to do with the fact their hair is thicker and more course than ours so therefore they make mens razors better. I still have issues with shaving down there though, and i cant do it that often otherwise i get razor burn like...every 4 days at most or something.... So - like everyone says - just go with whatever happens to work best for you. Dont worry : )
