So it had become apparent to her of months of being barren that her stomach area had started to swell. At first she thought that she was just gaining weight. Her job as an advisor certainly did have it's perks as far as being well fed. But this was different. Her stomach didn't STOP growing. It was a quite obvious baby-belly. Heh and all this time her and Kagiso had been trying she could have sworn he was shooting blanks. But as she looked down at his sleeping fluff she would have stayed with him anyway even if she was barren for life. But still the pooch was good news. After all this time of trying they finally were going to have a litter of there own. ONE or TWO little ones to dote on and teach the way of the pride. She really didn't think she was having more then that.
She also thought they must have been due pretty soon with the size of her belly. 'Do cubs really grow THAT fast?' Being a first time mother she would have never expected her uterus to be swollen with Eight cubs.
She nudged her mates purple mane to wake him up. "I eh think I might be due soon." But yet she clearly didn't feel the pains of birth. She went and sat back to get a clear look at her belly again. "Yup these TWO cubs defiantly are big enough to come out."

Kagiso let out a loud yawn and lifted his large head tiredly at the sound of his mates voice. He had been beginning to worry that he would never be able to pass on his genes to offspring with his lovely Zumi but it was seem the gods had finally smiled down on them and filled her belly with little ones. Little ones it seemed that grew larger by the minute. He knew he wasn't sterile male, and these cubs would prove it.
He looked over sleepily to Zumi and couldn't help but notice the quiet obvious swell to her stomach. Surely cubs didn't grow that fast? It was his first litter to sire but as far as he had herd cubs took time to grow. Why was she growing so large so fast? He crawled his way over to her and sniffed at her tummy curiously. "Maybe there's more then two?" He gave her tummy a gentle nudge before laying back lazily. "I don't think cubs grow that quickly. Have you asked the other females?"

She shook her head. "No I havn't talked to them. I thought I was just fat. I er didn't want them to think I was fat either." She half chuckled at her own vanity. "But now that I know that I'm not fat...I'll ask around." She seamed more content with herself knowing she hadn't gained any 'unatural' weight. But she was disconcerned when he mentioned the thought of having more then two cubs.
"Nah I don't think I'd be have more then two cubs...three at most." She looked at her belly and wished she could see inside. But for now all she could do was wait; and it was killing her every moment of it.

Kagiso nudged her belly gently with his nose once more before laying next to her. He could tell she was nervous to be a first time mother, even if she tried not to show it. He didn't blame her. If the circumstances had been reversed and he was faced with giving birth to gods knew how many cubs he'd be nervous as well. He tried to stay calm and in high spirits now, especially when he was around Zumi, if only to make her feel better. He wanted to be the best father he could, but there wasn't a whole lot he could do until the cubs came accept reassure her.
"Well little love, perhaps they will just be large like their papa." He gave her cheek an affectionate lick. "Everything will be fine. You'll see."

"Well I hope your right." She smiled he touched her belly tenderly. And in reaction a small poke came from the other side back to daddy. Zumi shifted and chuckled. "I think it likes you..." Amused at the prospect that the cubs knew daddy was there she looked at him and and then back to her belly where little movement came from here and there. "You should talk to them so they get to know you." She wondered if they could hear Kagiso and Zumi's voices when they spoke. She didn't remember anything from when she was inside her mothers womb.
