((This RP serves as part of the Brotherhood traitor plot. Don't know what that is? Read here. If you're playing a Brotherhood wolf, please read this thread before jumping in! This thread is open to up to FOUR Brotherhood wolves who want to participate and FOUR Tomkin wolves. Have fun!
What oughta happen in this RP: The Brotherhood wolves need to find out that Rotiart has had pups. Tomkin wolves need to run them off. Other than that, it's a free-for-all.))

Niccolo was sure this was the right territory. He had been young when the traitor was banished but the memory of it was burned in his mind -- and in his nostrils. The traitor had ruined everything Niccolo had ever known. The green gamma was sure he was to blame for Danel's disappearance and the general crumbling of the pack afterward, that dark time. Of course he was out for revenge.
The pack had been difficult to find. Its purpose was, apparently, to remain hidden -- much as the Brotherhood's was. The Brotherhood, however, left their territory only to take pups, and for missions like this. Apparently those of this pack were a bit more lenient in leaving and letting others in.
Niccolo spoke to his companions as he stopped in the woods. "This is it." He waited, assuming they would sense it as he did. He wasn't the leader of this operation -- he wasn't quite clear on who was. Perhaps that would need to be decided now. They had simply worked together as brothers until this point, with no need for an appointed head. Their common goal kept them in line.

Dustiel was quick to act on the orders their new god gave them, with some assistance from Avidimi, of course. Dustiel knew not the scent nor the look of the traitor, but Avidimi did, and Dustiel knew the older gamma was more than willing to make himself useful, despite staying home. Dustiel had left with what information Avidimi could provide, but there was nothing that could be done about that scent. Dustiel just hoped that there would be, possibly, the underlying familiar scent of the Brotherhood, and trusting in the noses of the pack's older members.
Determination coursed through the young wolf. Determination more so to meet his own goals than to find the traitor, but hey - why not kill two birds with one stone?
"Good." Dustiel spoke. "Let's get down to business. For the Brotherhood. For our God."

Okeetee certainly was not hesitant to move to please their new god. He wore his cloak, red mark blazing across the hood, with pride. He was a true brother now, no longer a gangly, anxious adolescent watching from the sidelines. The pride in him, as well as the renewed confidence could easily be seen in his movements, though he was careful to be respectful to those who were his uppers, especially Rummy, himself.
Okeetee was a thoughtful creature, but not nearly as deep as some of the brothers that were cloaked at the same time as he. Eager to please and eager to keep himself in high standing and breathing, he did not hesitate to do what he must or to volunteer.
"Indeed, Brother. For our God." His tail wagged slightly and he seemed to grin beneath the opaque cover over his snout and his golden eyes were bright and eager. He may now be considered an adult and a proper member, but he still had youthful eagerness and vitality.

"For our God!" chirped Satoru when he thought it was his turn. Oh, it was wonderful to feel like he was being a part of something now! Not just the lone pup that followed after Elapse's fabled cloak, nor the awkward adolescent amongst his peers, but a full fledged cloak-wearing Brother! Though the foursome had not spoken much throughout the travel, this omega's heart was quite light with delight - whether they found Rotiart or not, at the least they would be able to report upon this strangely (equally?) hidden pack.
But what was best was that not one comment was made upon his appearance which, to the wolf, was a particular weakness in what should be a secretive mission. Thus, even if Sato had not been the omega, he would have hung just behind the rest as he did now, keeping a rear guard.
Once Avidimi pointed out the pack in question, Satoru picked his head up for the first time in several hours, looking quite eager to get going. Well, not in the killing part necessarily, but in the investigation portion. "I smell a little bit of human far off," he said, nostrils flairing. A settlement close to a wolf pack? Odd placement for the wolf's concerns . . . The rings that pierce his cheek and ear tingled. He was also quite thankful no-one saw fit to ask where he had obtained them.
"So, let's see . . . The place has a ton of trees. Think they got spies in the leaves?" he asked the group. "They'll know the area better than us, so we'll have to keep up a good guard on all sides. Mercenaries . . . yikes."

"They can hide all they want," Dustiel spoke, "but they can't hide their scent. Each of us needs to have a job. Niccolo-" Dustiel looked at the older wolf "I trust you know the traitor's scent? You should worry only about looking for that. Satoru keep your eyes and nose sharp for others. Okeetee, you and I should look for anything else that could prove interesting. They say the traitor liked thiny things, right, Niccolo? He could very well have lost some along the way. We will also be your front lines of defence if Sotoru should raise the alarm."
Dustiel was not at all shy about issuing the orders. Someone in their group needed to, and he dicated them in the best way he knew how - using what he thought would be to theri advantage: Niccolo's knowledge of Rotiart's scent, satoru's alertness and suspicion, Okeetee's eagerness to please, which would surely lead his peer to search avidly and hard. Himself, well,...the micromanager. Extra eyes and a nose to boot as well. The young wolf dared one of them to question him.

Niccolo nodded his head in response to Dustiel's orders. He did not mind or even notice the younger wolf taking control. Niccolo tended to be more keen on brute strength than tactics; he wasn't afraid to boss others around but only when they were being stupid, like his smaller brother back home. In fact, having someone else give the orders (and therefore take responsibility for mistakes) was somewhat comforting. Besides, he felt a swell of pride, knowing his age and wisdom put him in the unique position of being the only wolf available to deliberately track the traitor.
"Yes," he said, cold steel eyes glancing at the bare-headed one among them, "he was always fond of shiny things; draped himself in human metals wherever he could find room."
He lifted his nose to scent the air. He hoped the traitor would still be in this pack's territory, making this a short journey. He hoped the pack would try to defend him, making it a fun one.
"This way," he said, leading the group deeper into the assassins' land.

Drover had not been in Tomkin long, but that had never stopped his innate sense of self-confidence before. He would act the same way on this plot of land as he did on any other. The land was the land; he understood pack territories, he just didn't really ascribe to the concept. What he understood was leadership, power... and getting paid.
He wanted to acquaint himself with the land. Not even necessarily the territory, just the land herself, to understand this strange, fertile place. He was used to sand and shrubs, not loam and towering trees, trees so high that the tops were obscured and the lower branches cut out so much of the sun's heat and light. It toyed with his senses; confused his visibility.
But his nose... his nose worked fine, and when he picked up the scent of wolf he trotted confidently in that direction. He felt he had nothing to fear from anyone on this land. He was wrong, but it wouldn't be the first time.

Dustiel nodded to the older wolf, and then set about searching. however, he was not dumb enough to trust fully in his search-mates,..especially when it came to alerting to danger. His ears twitched having caught the sound of rustling undergrowth. He narrowed his eyes in that direction. At first he wondered if it might have been the one they were searching for, but Dustiel doubted it. The traitor had once been a Brother -- surely he was quieter than this fool.
Bijou had lain in wait with her children, shushing them venimously as she waited for the hooded wolves to be distracted. Once Drover had their attention, she'd make a run for it,..back to the heart of the Tomkin where she'd intoruce her two pups. As far as the pack would know, the only two that had EVER been. Any talk the two girls would make of having brothers would be played off as mere delusions - a believable thing considering their mother. Or she could just say she ate them. Either way...

Only a few steps away, Niccolo's ears were not sensitive enough to hear what Dustiel had, but he picked up on the younger one's reactions. He focused his attention in the direction the tan wolf was looking in, and subconsciously dropped his body closer to the ground, hiding in the scrub. He and Dustiel could hide best, with their drab-colored cloaks, though the brilliant red symbol would give them away if seen. Not that Niccolo begrudged wearing it -- he was proud of the twisting sign, like a splash of blood on his forehead; never seeing it but always feeling its weight, the will of his alpha heavy on his head.
Then, he too heard the approaching wolf -- and scented not one but two. His nose, much sharper than his eyes or ears, picked up not only the noisy male but also a hidden female. Subconsciously, he began to growl, and turned to Dustiel, already waiting for more orders.
Drover's feet began to slow. There was a heavy scent of wolf in the air, but no sound reached his ears, not even of movement, and no one stepped out of the bushes to greet him. He knew this was an assassin pack, and probably by nature wary, but something about this situation did not feel right. He chose to keep his mouth shut. For a moment, he debated if he should run back to the center of the territory and tell Aguta of the wolves he sensed, but brushed that thought away; he needed to prove to the alpha that he could do his job here. Instead, he stepped closer to the Brotherhood wolves. He was practically right on top of them, but the desert native was unused to hunting in the heavy cover; he could have stood an inch from the cloaked ones and never seen them.

"If this wolf is a Tomkin member, he might know something of the traitor." Niccolo could do what he would with that. "We'll let him get closer, than we'll surround him. Get what information we can." Though Dustiel had his doubts about this wolf that drew closer and closer. He was too noisy to be a proper assassin. Maybe he was new... The presence of the female went unknown to Dustiel, who was focused on the more apparent.
As the other wolf slowed, Dustiel was amused. He was almost on top of them and yet he seemed blind to their presence.

Okeetee listened diligently to the speaking that went on around him. Ever the listener, he absorbed every word and his mind worked to put every piece into place. He padded silently after Niccolo, but his attention snapped at the obvious approach of another. He did his best, seeking hiding within the shadows and the underbrush of the densely populated forest. Fortunately, he blended rather well, with the darkness of his pelt and newly given cloak.
"A newer member to the pack would make more sense, with as much noise as this one makes. He sounds about as stealthy as a fish flopping in a pile of dead leaves." He snorted his comment in a hushed whisper, keeping his voice low so that only his brothers would hear, as he watched and waited for the strange wolf to come closer. Perhaps his comparison was overly much, but the other certainly did make too much noise to be an experienced assassin.

Niccolo nodded in agreement with Dustiel's orders, and glanced at their newly-cloaked Brother. He was being quiet enough, but Niccolo was not fond of useless chatter in the middle of business.
Pacing out to circle through the trees, Niccolo brought himself up on the approaching male's hind. The wolf was a brilliant orange that provided poor camouflage in the trees; if he were a Brother, he would probably have been provided with a heavy brown cloak to compensate. The female that he had smelled lingered in the back of his mind, but he had been given orders, and they didn't include her. After all, a squirrel on the ground was better than five in the trees.

Dustiel cast a quick 'shut up!' glare to their chatty brother, before speaking up, still hidden however. His voice seemed to come out of no where - the very embodiment of the shadows itself. If nothing else, Dustiel noticed, the area they were in had swell acoustics.
"Such a noisy one - you have stumbled upon the darkest of shadows, what say you?"

He glanced cooly back towards the others, flicking an ear slightly in response. He said nothing more and merely waited as Dustiel approached and spoke to the noisy wolf that had been approaching. Silent as the shadows, themselves, he crept from hiding to take his place at the bright wolf's right flank. His golden eyes flashed with a dangerous glint beneath his cloak's hood and his throat gave a soft rumble to let the Tomkin member know that he was blocked from an escape. They would get what information they had come for. There was no doubt about that. And while generally kinder than some of his brothers, he was equally hard working and relished the taste of his fellow wolf.
This should prove to be most interesting.
