Arae smiled softly and stroked Aleric's cheek. "All right, I'll tell her. But you just remember to be safe, and don't take unnecessary chances, my love. I want you back in one piece, afterall. And take care of Soho." She notably left out taking care of Silva.

Arae watched him depart, with a sinking feeling in her chest. She knew many a quester in her lifetime, and so very many of them died on the path. But she knew as well they could not be dissuaded, and that an ounce of encouragement and a reason to come home gave them all the more strength to survive.
