From what I observed, fat chocobos are revered among the chocobo species. Being social animals, it may be that the fat chocobos are the alphas and given that there is little study about these very elusive creatures, we can assume that getting a rank alpha is something earned. So there is no doubt that a black chocobo will lose to a fat chocobo, unless of course, that black chocobo is a fat chocobo himself.
