 Light broke through the trees in patches, lightening and darkening Chogan's form as he moved. His eyes glowed sofly in the dim evening light as he swiftly took in the surrounding area.
His stomach rumbled violently. He kept his snout low to the ground and whimpered softly. Food. He needed food desperately. Mushrooms, moss, shoots, berries; he didn't care. Something to fill his stomach. But nothing presented himself and a dull failure gripped his heart. He might go another night without feeding. Certainly that was bad for Adahy his age? Would he wither away? Be taken by the monsters who fed on weak little ones?
Again he whimpered, and he curled by the thick, dark trunk of a large tree. Another stomach rumble, more pain. "I need food!"

 Ëní'ta was making her was quietly through the trees, Auwa padding alongside her for the most part, but occasionally the Waenara would scamper ahead on his own at which point she would giggle and follow his trotting pace as they played some strange game of chase, with no real objective, just enjoying running through the trees. One of these such times Auwa took a fork that met up with the path Ëní'ta was trotting along, except he didn't arrive at the other side even when Ëní'ta paused to wait for him.
The Waenara had instead heard the voice of another Adhay and paused to invesigate pushing his way through a low-lying bush to pop his head out on the other side peering around with curiosity.
Meanwhile Ëní'ta had decided to go back and see what was keeping Auwa and had started back along the fork walking slowly and staying alert, unsure of why Auwa had stopped. She might at times act like a child but Ëní'ta knew when to be serious.
(auwa would be visible at the moment, but not Enita, ...yet. wink )

Chogan's groaning had eventually quieted to a silent brooding fear. He was afraid of being this hungry. Afraid of what would happen to him being this alone and this week.
But with his quieted groaning his senses came back to him full force and as the little head popped from the bush, he caught the movement from the corner of his eye and his head swivled, automatically ducking low as if ready to hunt. He wasn't a good hunter, but a chance to eat had presented itself, even if it was in the form of a waenara.
He shifted to his paws gently and crouched, drawing in the little animal's scent. There was no point in trying to be sneaky, so instead he whispered, "Here little waenara. Here..."

Auwa blinked at the little Adhay, tilting his head toone sde, unsure of what to do but he tentatively stepped out of the push a little closer to the youngling, still cautious. he sniffed the air tentatively, although this confirmed nothing for him. The Waenara stayed where he was, staring at the little Adhay he had found.
Ëní'ta on the other hand had now made it back to the Waenara's little tracks and was attempting to follow them, made a little more difficult by the ground leaving very few hints as to where the waenara had gone, eventually she simply resorted to calling for him. "Auwa!"
The waenara perked up when he heard Ëní'ta's call turning his head in her direction and standing up on two legs, making a squeaky call back.

Chogan tilted his head back at the waenara, inviting him closer with the curious, almost playful gesture. He wasn't sure if it would work, but there was always hope. Hope made his hunger growl more, yearning for the taste of food they were so close to getting.
But instead of luring it closer, a call rang out and the little animal turned it's head. Foolish, but wonderful for Chogan. He bunched his haunches and launched at the animal, trying to snag it in his claws.
