Did anyone participate in the Speed Dating event on Friday and/or Saturday?
I was surprised to see they had that.
If you did, how was your experience?

What was the age range for the straight speed dating? I'm 26 and I really didn't want to be "dating" with 15 year-olds, that's just kinda ookie. They didn't have one for the older straight crowd.

They had a gay and lesbian speed dating rated M, but they weren't exactly pick of the litter peoples in there. (Sorry if you were there.)

Did they even set an age group for the straight speed dating event?
But I know that there were a lot of young girls (probably around 15~18 ) participating, along with guys that were much older.
I was assuming they were going to divide the participants into age groups, but they didn't. :/

It was rated 14 & up.

Well theres a story how my friend and I ended up at speed dating ^^''
but end result was we went for about 10 minutes.
In that time I talked to about 5 guys. Only one 1 was in high school and the rest were in their early 20s or 18-19.

For me it turned into "Have fun talking to someone for 2 min. and 30 seconds". I'll admit, there were some guys that I wish I could have talked to a bit longer. Overall experience was good, though I felt like I was losing my voice for the rest of night because there were a lot of people in a small room for that panel and even though the people I was talking with were about 3 ft. away, we had to lean in and yell inorder to be heard.

That pretty much sums up why I didn't bother attending. I'm 49 and didn't feel like creeping out some teenage girl there to have fun. Besides, I didn't go to Sakura-con looking for a 'date'. smile

I did like that they had a variety of events for people to choose from. That just wasn't one of the events for me.
