(yay, I'm back)

So, a friend of mine recently got into Doctor Who and is currently watching the 9th Doctor era. However I feel they should watch some 10th Doctor episodes before "The Elventh Hour." Which would you say are the best episodes that show all aspects of 10 and are easily accessible to a newer fan?

I'd say Voyage of the Damned is the best Ten-centric story put out during his tenure. You don't have to worry about plot arcs or backstory, just watch as Tennant owns the pineapples out of the screen for an hour of your life.

Great idea! Any others you feel would be necessary to bridge the gap between the 9th Doctor to the 11th Doctor? The Christmas Invasion? Rise of the Cybermen? The 2009 specials, particullarly The End of Time, or does that have too much backstory to it?

System.out.print("

You should watch Blink~
Not terribly much Doctor action, but still an excellent episode.
(if nothing else watch this. for srs.)

Um, I like the Christmas Invasion too...
Once you watch that, you can watch Partners in Crime.
I'd say watch Turn Left too, but that's about as much backstory as you can get lol.

Um, the specials are all pretty much stand-alone.
Planet of the Dead was my favorite, but Waters of Mars was pretty good.
The End of Time has a lot of backstory, so maybe not that...

All of them.

Lol, yeah i agree with most of those. Maybe a couple of episodes from each season...I wouldn't do End of Time unless you want to spend a whole day explaining everything...

I think you should just let them finish all of Nine's episodes before you bring on Ten in all his Doctor-y goodness. As good as he was, Nine just doesn't compare to Ten. You wouldn't want to spoil the surprise, would you?

Lol, I agree ten is amazing. Don't get me wrong Chris Eccleston is an amazing actor and I do enjoy his doctor, but David is all over amazing and makes me cry, laugh, and yell all at the same time haha. Nine just didn't do that for me. So yeah, finish nine and then bring on the ten episodes.

My favorites are; Cristmas Invasion, The Runaway Bride, Partners in Crime, Doomsday [can't watch it still without sobbing to death], Planet of the Ood, And I personally like the End of Time 1&2 the story line had quiet a few plot holes and some characters wheren't explained properly. But I just Loved Sim and Tennant face offs <3

Out of all of the Tenth Doctor episodes that I've seen so far, my favorite is The Girl in the Fireplace by Steven Moffat. I first saw it a few weeks ago, and I instantly loved it.

If this is a dream, the whole world is inside it.

My favorites are "Blink", "The Girl in the Fireplace", "School Reunion", "42", and all the ones with Donna.

The Fires of Pompeii was a really good episode and Donna is a great companion . My first tenth doctor episode was Daleks in Manhattan/ Evolution of the Daleks and that was all it took to get me to fall in love with the show so I feel it deserves a mention.

Blink, Doomsday, Girl in the Fireplace, Shakespeare Code, Partners in Crime, Fires of Pompeii. Those don't have too much backstory but hit some main points of the doctor

voyage, girl in the fireplace, blink, love and monsters (even though the last 2 don't have much tenant), human nature (1&2), and silence in the library (1&2), maybe even unicorn and wasp were some of my favorites, though you might just want to show all of them. by the time he's done catching up he'll be just in time for season 6
