Ranking

The Vancouver gargoyles follow a ranking system, to maintain order in their clan. The terms for each
position come from words in the Coast Salish language. Here is a description of the different ranks.

Nuts'a'
(Translates to One)
The Leader - There is only ever one.
Currently: Kitsilano
Description of rank to come eventually…

Yuse'lu
(Translates to Two)
The Second in Command - There is only ever one.
Currently: ???
Description of rank to come eventually…

Lhihw
(Translates to Three)
The Lieutenants - There is only ever two.
Currently: ??? and ???
Description of rank to come eventually…

Slheni' and Swuy'qe'
(Translates to Woman and Man)
The terms for non-ranked gargoyles, female and male respectively.

S'eluhw
(Translates to Elder)
The term for older, wiser, gargoyles. They exist outside of the regular ranking system, and though
they are required to take orders from the Nuts'a' orders from any other gargoyle could be considered
suggestions. Their opinions and requests are to be taken with the utmost consideration and are treated
second only to the Nuts'a', who usually gives them preference out of respect.
