im getting so sick of my wedding right now. the first place i wanted to have the wedding at is being sold so thats a no go, my second choice im having troubles with and they wont call me back. i want to have my wedding at this church becasue thats where my parents had their's. im not a member of the church or anything but they could at least call me back. ive been calling all last week and all this week so far. if i cant get into contact with a human by the end of this week i think i may end up going with my 3rd choice, the zoo.

thats right people, the local zoo that i used to volunteer at does weddings. i saw they had an ad in one of my free things i got at the wedding show i went to. the future nieces love the idea. my dad thinks its a bit weird and doesnt like it but everyone else loves the zoo idea and more importantly, i like the idea. so what if its a bit weird? as long as we all have a good time and im happy right?

and the fiance and i are still arguing about the dang cake xp we wont do a thing to help me with the wedding and he says its all only what i want and it doesnt matter what he wants yet he wont give in on the cake. i really dont want a square cake made of cheesecake gonk i want a circle cake made of spice cake. its not like he will be eating it anyways, just a bite and then he will be done. he doesnt like to eat, he doesnt like cake too much, and he will be too stressed to eat. i dotn see why he wont give in. im holding my ground. if he was helping with anything else then maybe i would give in.

and oh my god we are having the worse time finding a house. right now its going to be just the 2 of us and his dad wont be living with us so that really hurts our house budget. we are looking for a place under $90,000 and we want to own, not rent.

i know im asking for alot, a house we can buy for cheap that isnt a piece of crap, that dang church to call me back, and to get the cake i want. what can i say? im a brat and i want it all XD

I wish you the best of luck getting things straightened out.

I think the zoo is a great idea. Even though it may seem bizarre to others, it's something you love and as you already know, it's your wedding, not theirs. =)

Perhaps a comprimise on the cake? 2 smaller cakes, a round spice and a square cheesecake. I had 3 different types of cake at my wedding, white, chocolate, and spice. I know that all of our guests likes the choices. Not everyone likes the same type of cake and this way there was something for everyone.

Have you tried looking through a realtor yet? I know that before we realized our credit was dwon the toilet we found some really nice houses around $80,000 through a realtor who specialized in houses under $100,000.

both his family and my family have been having some extremely bad realtor luck so the fiance is prefering not to use one, but his brother in law flips houses for a living so he knows the market pretty well. though there is one realtor we are starting to try and use.

and i dont mind having different flavors on the cake, i just dont want cheesecake as a part of my wedding cake. i dont mind if we have cheesecake at the wedding, just not as the wedding cake

I think the zoo idea is awesome lol. I would totally do that! My wedding is gona be small and cheap but totally wild lol. If I ever get married. My last boyfriend, who I stubbornly still hope will come to his senses and we'll get back together... Doesn't believe in marriage and isn't interested in ever getting married which I'm totally fine with. But if I did get married, it would be close friends and family and I don't have a huge family and something very low budget and really entertaining. Like a quick reception at my fav mountain and I'll paraglide down the mountain instead of walking down the ile. And I would keep it a secret so they play the music and like expect me to come down the ile but instead ill be in the sky lol.

Okay, getting off track. Why don't you tell ur fiance that since you are doing all the work, you really want your cake. And if he wants to have it his way so bad, that he should start pitching in and earn a say in it.

The square cheesecake can be the groom's cake, and make yours any way you want it.

It's totally traditional to have 2 cakes, they call the second one the "groom's cake" and I think it's usually a chocolate cake but that could be a cheesecake! It's usually not the big fancy tiered thing the Wedding cake is either, so I bet it wouldn't be too terribly expensive to add on to the catering bill.

I love the zoo idea. I looked into getting married at the aquarium but it's like a $7,000 minimum for the catering (you have to cater through them) and $3,000 to rent out one of the areas.

I vote two cakes. best of both worlds! Plus then there's more choices for the guests, like Shearaha said.
