I ahve two friends that are idiots about their health, I'll just call them Lorraine and Justin. I'll explain their stupidity below.
Lorraine: She recently decided that she was fat. I would like to say that she is skinny a**ed (Like me) and has never been "fat". She says now that food is evil and fatty. She actually went through the table at lunch and told us like half the items on our trays were too fatty. She's eating less and won't listen to me or our other friends about her health. She's going to hurt herself if we don't get her to eat something with more than 5 grams of fat - which is the most fat she will permit herself to eat.
Justin: He keeps cutting. (If you've read my previous post in the relationships forum this is HIM) He says it isn't because he's depressed (He says he likes me too much to be depressed) but because he's 'bored' or that his knife collection is simply there and tempting. Lorraine is telling me to get him to stop 9She of all people) and he did for a while. Then he restarted, just a couple weeks ago. I'm fairly sure he isn't suicidal because when he does cut it's on the back of his arm, not the inner side, but I'm still worried.
What should I do about them - if anything at all?

names mean nothing via the web
as for your friend who doesnt eat much, tell her about the nutritional facts label on her foods, sure school food doenst have it, but things like chips and so on do, heck if you're an anime fan and know what "Pocky" is, Pocky in america has the label
this label is exceedingly helpful, in fact, using my pocky example, Pocky is listed as having 80 GRAMS OF FAT, less than any american candy bar, and i cant remember the value but less than half of it is bad-fat, a really great and tasty treat.
these labels will prove to her how bad her idea is as she wont be eating at all, thus she'd soon realize how far fetched her idea is and this should push her into eating normally again
----------
For your cutting friend, i wll explain it two ways: 1 - some boys like pain, even if they have to self-inflict wound upon themselves to feel pain, this still doenst make it right as you never know what germs or bacteria are on the blade, especially in a collection 2 - perhaps he is having some issues and masking them fullheartedly, in this case, he's only cutting to not feel his emotional pains, and yet make himself look unwavered in front of his friends, this particular thing is unlikely as he's cutting the back which has more muscle and thickness making it harder to ease emotional pain but easier to inflict normal physical pains
as for what to do about your cutting friend: LET HIM KNOW YOUR CONCERNED if he's really your friend he'll quit if you ask him, its. what. friends. do. ---if he doesn't, then he's not being very friendly, sorry to place it so bluntly, but it's the truth

Aw Heck 1 - some boys like pain, even if they have to self-inflict wound upon themselves to feel pain, this still doenst make it right as you never know what germs or bacteria are on the blade, especially in a collection 2 - perhaps he is having some issues and masking them fullheartedly, in this case, he's only cutting to not feel his emotional pains, and yet make himself look unwavered in front of his friends, this particular thing is unlikely as he's cutting the back which has more muscle and thickness making it harder to ease emotional pain but easier to inflict normal physical pains I know he enjoys pain, he swears he's not emo, and I want to trust him. He says he just likes the release of endorphins. We talked a little today when I tried to convince him not to jump ever the fence at the park. He finally realized that it hurts ME even if it makes him happy. He looked shocked. He says he'll try harder. I really am a little worried, it's hard not to trust him.

Official Gothic Chick Aw Heck 1 - some boys like pain, even if they have to self-inflict wound upon themselves to feel pain, this still doenst make it right as you never know what germs or bacteria are on the blade, especially in a collection 2 - perhaps he is having some issues and masking them fullheartedly, in this case, he's only cutting to not feel his emotional pains, and yet make himself look unwavered in front of his friends, this particular thing is unlikely as he's cutting the back which has more muscle and thickness making it harder to ease emotional pain but easier to inflict normal physical pains I know he enjoys pain, he swears he's not emo, and I want to trust him. He finally realized that it hurts ME even if it makes him happy. He looked shocked. He says he'll try harder. I really am a little worried, it's hard not to trust him. So it's him saying he like pain, well...if you told him how much it hurts you to see him cutting, and he said he'd try to ease up, then you've both taken step 1 to the solution as for the endorphins thing, i kinda have to agree that every human likes feeling one of their own "chemicals" in flow into their own body, i know from -personal- experience if that is the case with him, then what he needs is more things to do or more times to hang out instead of just sit around. as these actions provide distractions from oneself, it's hard to crave that specific chemical
