So it happened to be that Nemesis actually hadn’t clawed out someone’s eye in his last encounter with a cat. Didn’t mean that 90% of the time Nemesis was an agreeable kid. Today he had decided to avoid the university and the casino once more in his impulsive need to go outside – a luxury that had not always been available to him. Instead the young kitten wandered closer to the apartments, the heavy smell of humans perversely drawing his curiosity. Were these the same as the scientists?

Rowan propped himself lazily against the side of the apartment building. Nothing doing today unfortunately… His green eyes were half closed, his body absolutely relaxed and lazing. He had hit a growth spurt not that long ago and while he wasn’t yet a teenager the kitten knew he was no longer truly a boy. A grin fluttered across his mouth as he remembered a time when another had referred to him a stud. … It was true she also hated his guts now, but the memory was enough to make him want to laugh at least a little bit.

Apparently not. There wasn’t any extremely clean smell here; in fact, it was quite the opposite. Everyone had his or her trashcans out in anticipation of the dumptruck later that day, and to a sensitive nose like his, it was horrendous. Nemesis’s sharpened eyesight did not help, as sometime he accidentally caught sight of ghastly piles of excrement in this lawn or that, or a fly upon one of the green containers where the smells originated. By the time the smell overwhelmed him, Nemesis had come across a lazing kitten a little older than him, though he was not the focus of his commentary.

“You smell worse than a dump,” he said to a bag next to the cat, though unfortunately that could have been misconstrued as being directly aimed /at/ the cat.

Rowan thought about taking offense to the statement… he really did… but what would the point be? That would just get him all riled up on a day that really wasn’t all that bad for the beginning of February. The snow had melted away almost entirely and the sun was out to soak into his skin. Raises a brow, Rowan looked the other cat over. Hm… snooty Persian from the looks of him. “I hate to tell you dis champ, but you don’ ‘xactly smell like a bushel’a roses” Stretching again Rowan stood up, his sweater c**k-eyed a bit and comfortably baggy. “So what’s up wit chu, eh?”
He really wasn’t interested in fighting with the younger-ish cat… but he would if he had too…
