And usually when you have tongues or feel cleansed you have a joyful feeling i couldnt explain! Usually you start to cry because the joy or even sorrow (if you are repenting or sad of what youve done) that is upon you because its so overwhelming! In a good way!

Personally I hve not received the gift of speaking in toungs, however I go to basically pentecostal church and I love it when it happens it is so amazing to lisen and watch.
(Our church beleives in more than speaking in toungs. Sometimes you will find people randomly dancing or running about, even spinning or jumping during prayer (and these are older peopel I am talking about) In a very crude, rough sence (I have troubles explaining it) we beleived one is basically possesed by the holy spirit.(THe dancing and stuff is generally though of a form of worship))
I brought my friend who is catholic to my church camp, there is a lot of speaking in toungs there. And her church had never even mentioned it before. She was stuck in a cross between panic and amazement. It almost made me laugh when I looked at her face. (I just love it when god amazes people)

I don't speak in tongues and never have but i believe in it and my friends do. I'd like to do it and I'd also love to fall over with the holy spirit but I'm not holding out for it cuz if thats gods gift for me it'll be God's gift for me but if it's not i'm sure he's got something equally as nice in store. It's written in 1 corinthians that everyone has different gifts from god, my pastor says that when someone is baptised in the holy spirit they speak in tongues. I think he's wrong because they could show any gift or they could show no gift, there doesnt have to be a gift there for the holy spirit to come in. I don't know if I've been baptised in the holy spirit to be honest cuz i dont quite understand what that means mainly because your apparently supposed to speak in tongues when that happens. If it is where they holy spirit fills you and you feel so happy, free (and for me i was very weak-kneed, i would have probably fallen over but i leant on my friend because something spiritual had just happened to a non-christian friend and i wanted to know what) just after someone has prayed for you, then i have if not, then i'm not sure.

I've heard 2 people speak in tongues in my life so far. (I haven't been around I guess) The amazing thing about it is there's no way for someone to fake it. It sounds like gibberish, but fluent gibberish. If I try to string together random syllables, I quickly start to rhyme. One of my friends has a theory that it could have something to do with pre-tower of Babel speech. Of course, there's no way to know.
