Lucanos was orphaned at a very young age--his whole pack had been attacked by an angry group of humans, who had "accused" them of killing the village's sheep. The wolf pack, of course, had nothing to do with it. They were simply beasts that were feared, and the humans could think of no better excuse to massacre them. Lucanos, and a few other random wolves, were the only ones to survive.
Unknown to Luc, his sister also survived the bloodshed. He has no memory of her in the current time, for he was very young when they were separated. He lives his life without the realization that he still has living family, but it does not bother him--he's too focused on vanquishing evil to care about his own feelings.
Lucanos spent most of his young life roaming the forests alone, his anger at the pointless slaughter of his pack fueling his determination to protect others who might be defenseless against wrongdoing.
