Wish me luck you guys.. tonight is going to be my first night out in lolita. redface Im not going ALL out as I will be running around trying to help with a 4H convention (Like helping little kids, passing out tickets, ect ect) So I had to tone down a bit, but still! Im so nervous because I live in a small town ( only 1200 people) and they are all farmers and whatnote so I know im in for some weird stares. . . sweatdrop
On a side note, When did all of you each wear lolita out and about? Any memorable moments?

Good luck. Usually when I go out to the country to visit fam, I get positive comments. You should be fine. smile
I just wear it whenever. I'm having friends over to make pancakes and watch some Buffy tonight and I'll be dressed up just for fun. haha. Memorable events? Hmm. I guess when I went to Disneyland! That was really fun. smile

I wear it to work occasionally. The dress code is very lax there, and they're used to my crazy hair colors already. Pretty much anywhere that people already know me and know I'm professional and classy no matter what I'm wearing (granted, I keep it very modest at work), I'll wear crazy clothes or lolita. New places, interview or business meetings, etc, it's pencil skirt and brunette wig time.
Good luck, hope everyone loves your outfit!

Don't be nervous! Being confident is the number one way to make yourself look good in an outfit. Put your chin up, shoulders back, and strut your stuff. ;3
My first time in lolita was in the middle of a blizzard. I wore my first brand-name lolita pieces [a Meta OP and jacket, and AatP socks] because I wanted to make a good impression and was so nervous! I later realized that that was entirely unnecessary, but getting dolled up as much as I could made me feel more confident.
I met a girl named Valerie [who is now a very dear friend!] at a coffee shop for drinks, snacks and conversation because it was too dangerous to go all the way to the meet-up that other lolitas were having down town. The staff in the shop was entirely polite, and the owner himself asked me a slew of questions. When Valerie and I went back about eight months later, we were stopped by a photographer who wanted to shoot photos of us and took down our information. XD;;
Nothing ever came of it, but it was still a nice feeling that he asked us.

My first time was at an anime con, I looked like a maid with Chii ears, and then my second time I wore the same made dress with stripper shoes and those funky cat ears with ribbons and beads coming from them. It was bad news. T.T
I was a total ita. And I really should have done my homework better. But I was at Katsucon and saw it and had to have it. It was a REALLY crappy Bodyline OP with crap lace and ugly accessories. T.T
