Fizzle: can you hear them? the people crying for help?

Screams sounded in the foggy dark distance. There was emptiness and yet a strange sense of fulfillment. The scream wasn't like a person, no, more like a beast. the sounds of thumps and trickling of water warping the horrid screech.

Suddenly a voice cracked through the dull darkness speaking two words. "Not yet."

Lightning flashed through my vision and I awoke taking in the scene around me. I was flat on my back looking up at the sky, which strangely looked like someone had painted it with shades of red and orange. The strange absence of blue and white shocked me fully awake...

the rest of this is about a dream I had it's probably a little too graphic for some readers but to summarize, people were being melted by some kind of biological agent that multiplied on contact with living organic material. Its excreted waste toxic and acidic causing the break down of living matter. Some kind of people in high tech machines sprayed the approaching clouds of the stuff in a fly by and then forced us survivors on their ships. we took off and had to remove all clothing so they could sanatize us. I was the only real calm one there other than the soldiers, whoever, or whatever they were.

This was a very vividly colored piece. You used descriptive words to great effect. I've never thought of writing dreams to work on learning to paint vivid scenes in writing, but it seems to have worked excelently for you. Keep writing your dreams, but start to incorperate your own (concious) imagination into your work. Eventually, you'll be able to come up with this sort of stuff in your waking moments as well.
