I was reading through some old threads and noticed that there are a few "grammar nazi's" within the guild. Now, I understand that correct spelling or at least attempt to be literate. And if someone doesn't succeed at being completely literate others have the right to flame or harass the person? I thought we were all supposed to be comrades here. This particular person I have witnessed this act will remain unnamed. I just want to hear everyone's input on the matter.

Well the rules do say "semi literate". A good attempt should be good enough. Flaming and Harassment shouldn't take place no mater what the case.

I dont care, I said semi-literate. so as long as youre not all L337 and I can understand you well, its fine. XD
What I dont accept: "ho r u?" "w8 4 me" these are the worst XD
haha but everyone can make errors because they type fast.

If it's in response to my outburst at someone previously, don't worry. I was getting a point across, and, sadly, an example has to be made at times. I did not act without warrant, and simply voiced my opinion in the nicest way possible (trust me, it was as nice as it was going to get).
They had literate sentences mixed with what I refuse to even call an attempt at literacy. Deliberate acts of ignoring the rules will not be tolerated.
On the other hand, if you are referring to anyone running an RP, it's not our business to interfere. Although they shouldn't spam/troll/flame for any reason, they have the right to set advanced-literate RPs and enforce that.
If someone joins an Adv-Lit RP and is not even Semi-Lit, and someone is slightly rude, and kick someone out of the RP, that's sort of acceptable, in my opinion. As long as it's stated that it's Advanced-Literate and that's listed either in the title, or the rules of that RP, then it's not okay to post with anything less (although the thread owner ultimately decides on that).
But if people are harassing members outside of what I've mentioned, and you think it's a problem, PM me with links to where it's happening. If you fail to report it, it's just as bad as putting fuel on the fire. By ignoring the problem, you allow it to grow. That makes you just as bad as the ones causing it.

haha but everyone can make errors because they type fast. whats a L337? confused I agree with Kaos witing like "ho r u?" and "w8 4 me" isnt the right way to do it stuff like that is accterually mobile phone text messengers. and everyone gets sick of thoses come on. thro i recound SOME shortcuts are good like u instead of you thro instead of through and so on someshortcuts like that are quite usefull but theres no reason to over do it AND YOU SHOULD NEVER BE A GRAMMA NAZIE (not that i should complain since i did the same before... crying sweatdrop )

If you want an actual debate/discussion (or Role play) you should be able to use the English language properly. That includes correct use of punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
